Oh geez. What a welcome, huh? If someone is going to be anal enough to bitch about spelling, then they really should be on the Webster's forum. Anyway, welcome!!!! Ignore the spelling nazis. It's their problem, not yours. I'd rather hear your thoughts than worry about your spelling or typing.
On the shower/photo issue: Even if they stipulated she didn't have a weapon, if Travis was specifically private when it came to showering, then what I'm thinking happened was that she startled him and he knew this wasn't the normally crazy Jodi standing there. This was intense crazy Jodi. She probably was screaming at him and telling him to SIT AND LISTEN TO HER. He was vulnerable, being naked and self-conscious about showering anyway. Plus, he knew she could be unstable. She didn't have to have a weapon in her hand. If you've ever seen someone flip out, it's scary in and of itself.
I think she used the flash to temporarily blind him. I do no t believe it was a photo shoot that he wanted.
She is a depraved creature .. she even told Det Flores when he mentioned the shower pictures that she did not think he would have allowed that

Coconut,
Her bank account was already empty when she met TA--her savings were tied up in the house she and Darryl bought, and were lost when they defaulted on the mortgage.
As to the rest, it was a toxic relationship for both if them. They took advantage of each other. He is the one who ended up dead and left to rot in the shower.
I call BS on you leaving out the line in my post that says there is no evidence that shows she was anything but angry when she killed him and nothing to justify the murder as self-defense. (Still love ya though...I think...)

hi, I've been thinking about this since I saw the Judge actually ruled the eye nonsense was junk science that couldn't come in. You make a great point and I think Juan made a great error. Why he would stipulate we don't know but on just the 'eye' day, it was senseless to eliminate the 'possible' in any jurors mind with this limitation that seems to have no important reason behind making it.

you are misreprenting his story and embellishing to form something that it never indicated. He never said he was afraid of the bathroom, or the shower or that she 'beat the shit' out of him.
He reported AS A BOY one incident and fear of the BATH. He never reported that incident impacted him passed his boyhood. He obviously did not grow into a dirty man afraid to cleanse himself and a bathtub and shower are not the same.

coconut is as entitled to bring ANY opinion they have.
Who deemed this only a proTravis forum for you? You might want to check with Mike the owner since you aren't a moderator here if you think only those thats agree w everything in your own opinion counts as being qualified for discussion here.
Or try reading the rules.

One of the reasons I like this forum is that we can have intelligent discussions with facts that support them. When we start bringing absurd claims without any proof with no apparent reason but to create arguments, then I cannot stay quiet. You are totally right that we all are entitled to our opinions, but that doesn't give us the right to say whatever we want. Specially when the internet is already full of sites like the Jodi Arias supporters full of people without apparent common sense.
What surprises me is that sometimes Coconut brings interesting facts to this forum and then he goes and comments something like "Then the jealousy and control as he tried to poison her advances on other men in his company."
And as you said, I am also entitled to my opinion and that is why I wrote the past post.
Is it true that today there was a hearing? do we have any news about this?
We have only Jodi's word that she lent him money. And even if she did, she chose to do so. HE did not "empty her bank account" (if it even happened) SHE did. She was a grown woman, if she could not afford to lend him money, she should not have done so.
And I don't see how you can imagine Travis should have been able to diagnose Jodi's BPD? He was not a therapist or an expert in that field. That is an unreasonable standard to hold him to.
I think this is possible. That pic (the only one with the flash on) was the second to last before the ceiling shot. However, I also think it is possible that she knew she was about to start the killing, and intentionally took one 'good' photo... as a sort of goodbye. To memorialize him, as Jodi might say.
I agree that it was not a photo shoot that he asked for (as Jodi claims), but I also don't think she crept in and did it without his knowledge or with him at gunpoint. I think Jodi wheedled him into doing it, by claiming that his buff new bod looked "so hot" and it would be like some artistic Calvin Klein photo shoot she always wanted to do. Even if he was not super enthusiastic, it might have seemed easier to give in than keep listening to her.

Now that you guys are mentioning the issue with the camera flash, that brings something I always wondered: During testimony with the photo expert (the one who recovered the pics), Martinez several times asked him about the light in the pictures, and also asked him for the differences in brightness in some of them, and I couldn't figure out what was the point of doing that. Now I understand where he was going. I wonder if he will mention this possibility in closing, although I don't think he will as it is only a theory that she used the flash to blind him.
[QUOTE=smashie;3394917]OFF Topic: I'm so dating myself here...but...If you went to grade school in the 70's ALOT was taught as a compound word of 'a lot'. Just as, alright was used for all right. It has not been an acceptable "word" for a few decades now, but it is common for people to continue to write that because of habit/and or education
This is a bit late but.. re. A LOT/ALOT
THANKYOU!thankyou!thankyou!! I thought I was going completely mad! I saw someone else corrected when I first joined mds, & ran for my Macquarie Dictionary to see if it was true - because my finnicky, pedantic little brain was screaming "Noooo, it can't BE!!!!" But apparently it was.
I thought I'd been spelling it incorrectly my whole life. Now I discover it was just the word world shifting again & I'd completely missed it. I try to use the newer spelling to make sure I don't set off anyone else's spelling antennae, but using "a lot" makes mine TWITCH HORRIBLY. It's been bothering me ever since - but now I understand why!
Disclaimer - this doesn't mean I read posts & pick apart grammar & spelling. MY incorrect spelling bugs ME , & I have enough of a history of insanely bad instances of non-grammar etc to leave me without a leg to stand on if I ever picked at anyone else.
Oh, & alright's still ok? Isn't it?
You are welcome to disagree. But it's a lot more fun if you base your disagreement on some actual points of discussion, instead of attacking me personally, so we can learn and understand more about the case.
Not that I should have to for anyone who's followed the trial, but I'll review my "absurd claims", all based on testimony:
1. Personality/Attachment Disorder: prosecution witness expert conclusion
2. Travis jealousy: his own emails and words about these other men (Abe, John, Steve, Ryan)
3. Money: Travis massive business loan from Deanna never paid back, prosecution never contested the Jodi financials about overdrawn account, so it's as good as true at this point, multiple texts from Travis asking for money, Flores saying Travis was in financial trouble...
My purpose is forming a full and clear picture of the people involved in the case. Blind groupthink "clearly supporting Travis and despising that psycho killer" sounds utterly pointless to me. If that's your flavor, hit the ignore button on me and it will be a much smoother ride for you, cupcake.
You know what gets me is that he did look good in his photos ... he looks trim as he had been working ouT.
Then she butchers him and leaves him to decompose in his shower. I am stunned by how angry this case makes me .
This young man overcame so much to suffer such a horrible fate.
And you are m y favorite poster because you always post with so much class

Actually, there are several people who post regularly and have somewhat similar opinions. Nothing wrong with that. As long as someone does not endlessly beat the same dead horse for a hundred posts, I'm good. Thankfully, coconut chooses a new horse daily, sometimes several.
Debate makes life interesting. It stimulates the brain. Plus, coconut often makes me clarify my own data and views, if only so I can't point out how flawed his are.
Even within the "Jodi is scum" believers, there are numerous different opinions on the details. I like seeing all the different views, and some of them have even made me rethink my own views because they made such excellent points and backed them up with sound reasoning or data I had not considered.
If we all agreed on everything all the time, this forum would be pretty boring. "I sure hate Jodi", "I hate her too", "I also hate her!". Having a lovely coconut or two (or several) to stir the pot makes everything more interesting. Variety is the spice of life!

1. Yeah, so she has a personality/attachment disorder. A layman can figure that one out in five minutes. What's your point?
2. I've been jealous when someone I've been in a relationship with shoves it in my face. Do I butcher someone? Not yet.
3. Money. If he owed her so much money, why didn't he just give her the BMW and be square?
