I agree. Her job is to discredit this witness, and honestly, the only thing she's got is the witness's age and experience. it's fair game. I honestly do not think this line of questioning is going to hurt DeMarte. She's very professional and intelligent.

This is true. I think though, CV's can be padded with ridiculousness the same as a resume. Longer doesn't always mean better.

Yeah, Willmott was being a b*tch. Plain and simple. She came across as jealous at times. Very immature and unprofessional. She kept trying to trip DeMarte up, but was unsuccessful, and yet still tried to claim it. She looked like a fool.

No I would not be jumping up and down and cheering him on. It was not appropriate, hand on her hip calling the Doctor out as being too young and inexperienced? She couldn't even get her facts straight, kept pausing, was unorganised.

I don't think JW was being a bitch yesterday, any more than I think that JM was being an asshole when he was questioning the defense witnesses. They both have a job to do: discredit the witnesses in whatever way they can. I have to wonder if people thought that JW was being a "bitch" in part because she's female, and when females are aggressive, they are labeled bitches, whereas when males are being aggressive, it's applauded.

In any case, no, she's not as good at is as JM. Maybe because it's not really her forte, maybe because she wasn't prepared, maybe because aggressiveness comes off on females as bitchiness. I don't know. BUT, I can't blame her for trying to discredit the witness because 1. it's her job, and 2. the age and experience of the witness is pretty much all she's got to attack her with.

Twins fascinate me. Jodi's mom is vulnerable bordering on fragile. Jodi's friends dont seem to be the "type" of people that would be supportive of momma. Instead, they are high and giggling uncontrollably or jail fed cons who are looking for notoriety. Momma's twin protects her. And she needs that protection IMO. No amount of money could motivate me to be momma arias. (well, maybe lots of money) Maybe auntie or someone always served in this role? Lord knows her husband has a histrionic streak and scoops up the attention. I could go on and on...

I feel bad for Jodi's Mom, I always have. I would not want to be in her shoes for anything.

Just found the research cited by Demarte for Battered Woman Syndrome conducted by Leonore Walker. The instrument is called Battered Women Syndromequestionnaire (BWSQ) and was validated in the us and outside. Its been around since 1999. This again shows that Alyce is, shall we say, wanting as an expert. Her years of experience can not compete with her inability to use a reputable questionnaire. Instead, Alyce chose to sit at the jail for 6 or 7 hour clips talking to Jodi. Ugh! Her testimony putting aside her obvious bias is IMPEACHED.

Alyce wants to be Lenore Walker. She just forgot about what happened to Walker after she was going to testify for OJ Simpson. Same thing as what's happening to her now.

I doubt that their personal feelings enter into this. They are paid and sworn to do a job, and if they tank because of personal bias, there are serious repercussions. On top of that, they are criminal defense attorneys. They care about doing good work for their clients.

This is Wilmott's signature style and it also doesn't change from witness to witness. She is not a strong speaker, or very good with language, so it's easy to underestimate her abilities.

Ya...her cross exam was like Martinez' - sort of. She tried...yet she sucked-@ss at it. I watched it last night and cringed for her (somewhat embarrassed) for the first 10-15 mins then got super irritated with her bitchiness. It was uncalled for and it made her look really stupid.

Dr. Demarte did get a little snarky, but I saw it more as defensive...and rightfully so. Wilmott was attacking her (or trying her darndest to) and it was inappropriate. And I didn't see Wilmott's approach as being strategic, I was seeing it as being straight-up bitch mode and trying to get back at JM- LAME and unprofessional. Anybody in their right mind would have done what Dr. D did.

I don't get it either. Dr. D interviewed Jodi for 12 hours at $300. Alyce interviewed Jodi for 44 hours @ $300.

So we're talking $3,600 for Dr D and $13, 200 for Alyce.

That's not even mentioning Alyce's week-plus on the stand.
