For the most part, Martinez has been able to quickly and clearly make points and cover a lot of ground. He's obviously much more suited to direct examination. The Prosecution has taken a very objective approach to the evaluation and it will be hard to dispute their findings objectively.

But is she too objective? This witness comes off as a little cold and spiteful, and perhaps inexperienced. On the memory issues the subjective nature of DeMarte's analysis could create problems. I also wonder why, of all the expert witnesses the State of Arizona could choose, they get a young woman so fresh out of school? She is also close in age and appearance to Jodi, and when she talks about her I get a catty vibe.

I love the testimony for The Prosecution, but it might be more effective coming from someone different.

I don't find her too objective, but numerically, she does have less experience, tis true. The jury will just have to decide what they value more.

She is an interesting choice, but possibly a brilliant one. The fact that she is younger and less experienced, but is in charge of numerous other PhDs and MAs is quite impressive. If ALV hired on there, this woman would be her boss. I think that has weight. Also, ALV and Dr Dicky were only ever in charge of themselves, if I recall correctly? They were both always self employed? You can be incompetent and work for yourself. It is harder to be incompetent and be hired by others, and harder still to be incompetent and hired to be in charge of others.

It will be interesting to see how she does on cross.
