I was so looking forward to Dr. Demarte's testimony but read that she will only be able to rebut what Samuels and ALV say. We may not hear a diagnosis of Stabby, but if we do it will be fascinating to watch her reaction. JM alluded to psych tests Samuels didn't give and I assume Demarte did administer tests, so her testimony should be very interesting even if it is limited. I anticipate sidebars galore.

That's the big challenge facing him for the rebuttal case - can he tie it all together clearly to show premeditated MURDER (not just covering her tracks), or will he blow his wad proving that Matt McCartney would lie for Jodi and that she had anal sex with more than one man?

That is Robert A Juarez, Pico Rivera, CA.

the best match I have found is this:

Name: Joseph Robert Juarez (1st names reversed)
Birth: 5 Jul 1978 - San Joaquin, California

but I haven't found a current listing for him. still researching.

btw: There's a woman in Hawaii that claims she was his girlfriend and that he abused her...
she has a photo of them together (he was an extra on the TV show "Lost" filmed in Hawaii) here's her YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/missunbounded?feature=watch
idk if that is the same guy - also he didn't have a beard in "lost" - and he was only in 4 episodes as a bg actor playing one of the "others" - she is saying he lived in hawaii for 3 years - so i am still skeptical

Not sure if a mistrial is that easy to get-but I suspect they will keep trying.

Even if they finish this trial, there is no doubt in MY mind- Jodi will have a good case for an appeal.

    Have a good day everyone!!
As this trial comes to an end the desperation from the defence for a mistrial will only turn up the volume to get one. They are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and it's a train.....

The level of perponderence in a civil case is much lower and they should do it that would be a sure fire way to have JA to stop painting for she would know the money from it would go to them. They would end up taking away something she likes doing.

Ok I have a question for anyone who knows the answer: I have been interested in finding out if Stabby has ever taken an IQ test, and if so what the results were. I have searched high and low for the answer and the website JodiAriasisguilty.com claims she did take an IQ test and her score was 75 which is considered borderline retardation. If this is true wouldn't the defense have argued that although their clients intelligence level is above 70, that it was only slightly above, and her ability to make decisions is diminished?

    Thanks
Well, IMO, I think her attorneys are sub par. I think some evidence was let in that her attorneys never even objected to.

One example would be the kool-aid stained car. Why did they let JM bring that up? Why didn't they ask the state if they even tested the kool aid stain? They (the def) just let the Budget guy bring it up and once he did-nothing was ever said about the kool aid stain again. So in some weird way-they let the kool aid just float around without disputing it. If I was a juror, I would assume the kool aid was blood.

The budget guy said there was no floor mats in the car. The attorneys never even bought up the fact that the "check in" sheet doesn't list that it's missing floor mats. Jodi was never charged for missing floor mats (unless there is a sheet that I haven't seen)

The hair color argument is shaky at best. JM can't really prove it, and Nurmi hasn't disproved it. It's just floating around.

Those are a few right off the top of my head. Don't get me wrong, I believe Jodi planned to kill Travis. I think she dyed her hair, rented a plain car, and drove to kill Travis. Then I think everything she did afterwards was to provide herself with an alibi. We all know Jodi killed Travis. Brutally! The overkill of Travis proves it was not self defense. IMO, I believe this trial is about the life or death of Jodi....not the innocent or guilt of Jodi.

The state has a great case with a lot of proof (most would call it a slam dunk kind of case). BUT, the state has to prove everything they say. I know premeditation can come at anytime, but the issue the state *may* have with the jury is the photos of the "fun" Jodi and Travis had before he died. From some of the jury questions-there is somebody that thinks Jodi just snapped.

The bad things about Jodi's attorneys....they are way to worried about getting a mistrial instead of defending their client. They are so busy watching the jury, news, gallery...they don't pay attention to some of the things that the state says.

Those are just some of the reasons I think Jodi has a good case for an appeal (if she is found guilty) I don't think it will do any good-and I think if that happens it will be well in the LONG away future.
    Hope that made sense?

I don't know scores, but I'd guess it to be very much higher. Even if someone said it was 75, that wouldn't fly in court without a retest. The only way I'd see her with a score that low would be if she's a poor test taker. I've known people like that.

I'm sure there's a civil attorney that will take their case for free too! Might as well close the money door on Miss Jodi. She doesn't deserve to profit off of anything!

I always wondered why no further discussion about Jodi's claims that sex calmed him down,( she claimed sex twice that afternoon) unless it would not have been good for JM to bring it up. I guess that would change things towards her snapping. But the defense never brought it up either. In that case, the defense could have used it to their advantage.

It reads she mostly testified with explanations of things, she did not testify for an actual person.

Sis Berm, I agree with everything you said. It appears if JW and Nurmi have split the responsibilities. He has JA and jury, she has experts and JA confidant. He doesn't seem to be paying attention to anything other than the jury and filing motions for mistrial. That is a huge problem.

I believe most of the jury is onboard. Once rebuttals start, hopefully JM will be able to clear up any questions that a sympathetic juror has. If not, their fellow jurors have the opportunity to bring them around during deliberations. I'm not concerned about a mistrial. I'm reasonably confident she will get murder one. I've learned not to have reasonable doubts though. We'll see.

I saw JM question ALV, he was aggressive in the beginning, in my opinion, reasonably so. She had just spewed nonsense, about everything other than the relationship between JA and Travis. Most of her testimony with JW was anecdotes about people or cases she read. WTH? Then right before JM got up to question ALV, she has the nerve to talk to Samantha. I'm sure that made him seethe. Not one person on here has ever defended her action. Yet, they question JM's actions when he has a personal relationship with Samantha. I think JM has fatherly feelings toward Travis's family. Sould he be able to be professional enought to set that aside? Perhaps. He feels responsible for getting them justice.

Thank you for your recaps! While I was sick, I depended on them. You rock!

JW's body postures have been reflecting she doesn't want to be near nor converse with Jodi. She definitely keeps it to a minimum, turns away often. She puts up with it, the cameras are watching and so is the jury. I think Jodi gives her the creeps, but Jodi thinks otherwise.

Sorry for the typos, I'll fix them later. Also I accidentally deleted part of a sentence. It should read

Jodi's IQ is not 75. That is barely above retarded.

She is at least of average intelligence, and I would guess she would probably score as at least slightly above average.
