Approaching Samantha when she did was probably another ploy to get him riled.
All she did was make herself look like a snarky, lying b*tch who can't answer a simple question a simple answer, just like Jodi.
And even when was "calmed down" as you say, her behavior never changed.
I disagree. We must have been watching two separate trials. She responded to his overly- aggressive TONE in questioning her. She had every right to do so. If one wants the best answer, they would do well to get that answer in the best way possible. Yelling and/or using an overly-aggressive tone, will not achieve that with a domestic violence expert.

Oh, man. But some of the final things the Judge said to Alyce...about not caring about her personal issues. What did Alyce say? She had some kind of appointments? I wonder what day she is coming in.
FGM Alyce in into atleast 50 shades of gray she has some dr. appts. probably from her anexiy ER visit/BP and inconinance issues. Hon Stephens didn't want to here her whine and told her she was under suppona and needed to show up.

Yes, that diatribe she could go on might reveal more about Jodi intended or un intended . Potential jackpot for the prosecution.

I wonder if the anxiety and heart palpitations made her bring up retirement. She got slammed for that one, too.

First, I think one more person can be added to the list of:

JODI IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME (most to least recent)

    1) Alyce LaViolette
    2) Richard Samuels
    3) Judge Sherry Stevens
    4) the 18 jurors in this case
    5) Kirk Nurmi
    6) the family of Travis Alexander
    7) Travis Alexander

Also, I guess Deanna Reid is not going to be heard from. I know the jurors are wondering about her since they asked questions about whether any of Travis's ex GFs experienced abuse, and they were together for 7 years. I can only speculate there was no abuse, or the defense would have called her, and the only reason I can think that the pros. wouldn't call her is she might have some not-so-good things to say about Travis (unrelated to abuse) that would have come out in cross exam, that Martinez felt could potentially outweigh the benefits of her testimony.

Of course there is also Matt McCartney, the only person to have actually 'seen' evidence of Jodi's abuse (neck bruises). The jury must be wondering why they have not heard from him, since questions were also asked about that, and Alyce said his name in her answers. We know why he is not on the witness list, as he publicly stated he was prepared to lie for her (and of course, there was NO physical abuse.)

I think the multiple jury questions about why Alyce believed what Jodi said and wrote when Jodi has been caught in so many lies, and questioning Alyce's biases ('how many men have you ever defended?') show lots of skepticism about Alyce's conclusions as well as her history and body of work. I was surprised by that as I hadn't expected the jurors to have known anything about her.

All in all it seems like a very attentive and knowledgeable jury, and things are not looking so good for our girl Jodi...
Why would Matt be the ONLY one to see bruises? Did she run to him and say "see"? Where was he when he "saw" them? Did she not see anyone else when she had them?

Very true and often the psychiatrist and psychotherapist work together in determining this..

Access to ALL the evidence primarily...what sticks out to me is she was never given Jodi's journals to read after Jodi murdered Travis. She was given only evidence that the defense felt relevant to give her.

Worried that one of those mistrial requests might stick. If I were Judge Sherry, I would stop televising the trial immediately. It's causing way too many problems for both the Defense and Prosecution and Witnesses. End it now. I would miss watching it...as we all would, of course. Justice trumps Entertainment or rather it should.
I remember reading a few post in the older thread-there were a few people on here (the older members) that thought the trial could end in a mistrial. That's very possible at this point, IMO. My biggest fear is that the longer this trial takes to finish, the more chance there is a mistrial. This trial really has turned into fuckery. The defense teams wants a mistrial bad. Not sure if a mistrial is that easy to get-but I suspect they will keep trying.

Even if they finish this trial, there is no doubt in MY mind- Jodi will have a good case for an appeal.

    Have a good day everyone!!

Berm - I'm curious your reason(s) for thinking she will have a good case for appeal?
    Thanks

If I remember right, she had appointments of medical nature on Monday. She was saying she "might" have to go back for something on Tuesday. I think that's what ticked the judge off.

Even if she had an appointment Monday, she shouldn't have made it until she was off the stand, so as not to have stopped the trial.

Her job was to determine how she thought Jodi was abused and how Travis was the abuser.

How could the journals after the killing play a part in this assessment? Probably the journals would have showed Jodi's craziness and would have given ALV a clue that Jodi lied about things, or give clues that might give question to things Jodi thought or did after the killing.

Mother Questioned by Det. Flores, July 2008

Mother: Jodi has mental problems. Jodi would freak out all the time. I had quite a few of her friends call & tell me that I needed to get her some help. We don?t have a good relationship, me & Jodi. She would just totally flip out on me & I had one of her friend?s call me in the middle of the night - call us one night & say you need to get Jodi some help . . . . . . . . . . . . And her friend called me one day & he said he had called some hotline to ask them questions about what she was doing & they said, ?sounds like she really needs some help? but she wouldn?t do anything.

    http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/04/0...-interrogation

Trail Day 16, JA on stand being questioned by Nurmi (started at 3:16)

Nurmi: Now this specific argument where he grabs you, throws you down, restrains you a 2nd time when you get to leave what was the thing that was so important that Travis wanted to do, insult your family or was it something else?

JA: He just kept ranting & raving & yelling

Nurmi: You don?t remember about what?

JA: Honestly my brain sort of just went on freeze & I don?t remember a lot of what he was saying it was just killing.

Nurmi: Okay. Why wasn?t this day, the day he throws you down, the day he grabs you, the day he won?t let you leave the room, the day he insults what he believes are insults to your family why wasn?t that the last day you saw Travis? Last day.

JA: Well, it was going to be because when I was leaving the stairs or going downstairs he followed me all the way out to my car just saying one mean thing after another & then his tone changed to something very friendly but it was artificial friendly & he said I have a great idea & he said how about you move to Antarctica & never call me again & I said mine is Antarctica sure & I was getting into the car & after my leg got into the car he slammed the door hard & I started to drive away so I thought we were not going to talk at that point. Um, it was a very low point for me, I . . . throughout the fall I was feeling suicidal so I thought that was kind of a point where I decided I wanted to um go through with that so um I called my friend Matt because he had guns a n d I was going to ask him if I could borrow one because I wanted to kill myself ? a n d he could tell I, I don?t know he called a suicide hotline & had me call them & he called my dad or my parents and as I was on the phone with Matt, Travis began calling again as I was driving back home and um I wanted to answer because Travis always apologized after he had been very mean & I thought maybe this is his apology, um, but sometimes he took a while to calm down so it could just be more of the same of his anger so I hung up anyway with Matt & I answered the phone & Travis was very sweet & very calm & he was telling me to come back & he was too harsh on me & he felt bad & I need to help him make his bed.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...mDuW4#t=14060s
So I am thinking that perhaps Jodi's mental condition or whatever she has really started escalating during her relationship with Travis and I do believe that she was in the proper age group where certain mental behaviours or issues start to become more dominant. After reading this post I really think she was living and breathing via Travis and that she was the one with the escalated behavior and that perhaps Travis didn't know what to do about it. I think she would be the one flipping out and yelling and screaming and having irrational behavior and Travis holding her down or yelling at her etc was the reaction to her actions. It most likely got worse as time went on and she became more dilusional and more insecure and jealous and since we know of her past behavior of snooping in ex's emails and such she just invaded all of his personal life and I believe he was tired of it all and knew he couldnt fix it. Part of the reason he kept hanging on was because he thought he could save her for lack of a better word. Their relationship evolved into what it was and I am sure he never saw it happening but at the end he knew he had it with her and that this was going nowhere good. Encouraged her to go home from where she came and move on with her life. She really had no other life exept him and that was way more than our little psycho could handle. I believe that is what pushed her over the edge to the point of invading him so much at the end of May that he finally told her what he thought and how much she hurt him. People like her are not at fault for anything they do in their minds so she took every incident between them that I am positive she started and used how he handled her to calm her down to her advantage. When he held her down it was probably because she was out of control in behavior and maybe was coming at him or threatening or even throwing things...who knows. Phone call above with Matt is very telling and interesting that had guns and she went to visit him before she went to Mesa that day........Hmmmmmmmmm....maybe she took the grandparents gun that I believe she stole and he had ammo for it and showed her how to use it. Perhaps he even took her out to a remote area so she could shoot it once or twice to know how it felt when it discharged. When she was on this call with him when leaving Mesa and Travis called her and was sweet and apologetic she was probably right. He never wanted to be mean to her or hurt her, he was just trying to get her to control her self as most likely she was the one that flipped out on him over something stupid and that was probably their pattern in their relationship. She would flip out over nonsense and his job was to try and get her back to reality. She said in that call he was very sweet and very calm and felt bad he was harsh and she needed him to help him make his bed.....the flip out could have been over making the bed and he may have said something as simple as just go and I will make it later....instant switch in her head and she may have gotten out of control leading to him getting angry and having her leave. Then of course he would feel bad after and call her and apologize so in her twisted mind it was all his fault as this was their relationship. I also feel that she told him on many occasions she was going to kill herself and he would never want to feel he was responsible for that, once again always sucking him back in. Since he was her only friend he had no one to turn to or to talk to about the situation and once she was back in CA and they had that final situation where he called her sociopath and worse thing that ever happened to him and how she hurt him like no other....those were his true words that he felt after all he did for her, gave her, tolerated from her and this was how she repaid him with betrayal. Once she heard his words she had no other recourse in her mind but to kill him. He had to be eliminated, after all he was the only one who knew the real her at this point. People like her do dismiss things in their minds and they do have no conscience therefore she probably was relieved once he was gone and went about her life as business as usual.

I also believe that she thought by doing this road trip and doing the stealth thing into AZ that no one would ever think she did it or could prove she was even in that state. She could have thought even after the murder how cunning she was and how they would never know it was her. Probably never even thought about anything she may have left behind because she was never there in her eyes!

I know that this is a super long post so I apologize in advance. I read every day but don't ususally post as most has been already said and dont post always just to say I agree or whatever. Just once in awhile to throw my voice in there.......LOL

Part of the reason this particular post prompted me to response is because I have a daughter with mental health problems and she is married to the best Son in Law I could have. I see so may of the same traits in her as the JA that it is scary to me. I could see this happening in the right setting or scenario.

And reading and debating will help you get to the bottom of this and see that Travis receives justice? We all hope justice is served in this case, but reading and debating isn't going to help the actual case.

I don't think she would have changed her opinion even if she had the journals from after 6/4. She seemed to disregard the lies Stabby told, and she would have just said Stabby was in denial. Interesting that ALV said Stabby couldn't remember the events of 6/4 due to denial and Samuels said PTSD/Hippocampus/Fog.

I agree. My problem here is people saying the defense didn't give her all materials, but maybe they were not given to ALV on purpose.
