I don't know if someone has said this already but I think JW approaches so much to get away from Jodi before she blows.
I think that the reason Nurmi isn't as involved right now is because the defense team had MUCH to cover to prepare. It seems, at least to me, that they split up tasks to cover more ground. Stabby was the biggest hurdle, so Nurmi's focus was on questioning her and preparing her for testimony on the stand. Looks like JW got to seek and prepare all the witnesses.
