Alyce Laviolette's named has now been legally changed to Alyce L'Advocate.

When she finishes advocating for Arias on the witness stand she will return to her office to not answer all the phone calls and emails that are not coming in not requesting she testify never ever again.

Like you said, we don't know (yet?) what prompted that text message. My personal opinion is that Travis must have found out about the recorded sex conversation. That would obviously have infuriated him. JA may have threatened to expose the tape if he didn't change his mind and take her to Mexico?

I'm not sure why some people feel such hatred against somebody who is a witness on the stand? Maybe most don't agree with her, IDK, but maybe the woman really believes in what she says. Maybe she does believe Jodi??

IMO, I think she is full of shit.. but whatever. Maybe she was only giving half the information. She has already stated on the stand that other DV experts may have come up with a different decision than the one she did. I think that tells you everything about her testimony you need to know.

My husband works in a field where he has to make decisions on things. He'll be the first to tell you that 10 other people could come in and look at the same thing, and all 10 will come up with a different answer. He will also tell you that there are some things that are indisputable facts.

Alyce sunk herself when she talked about stalking. Then she tried to backtrack by saying she wasn't a stalking expert. It was too late at that point. A DV expert, IMO, should have major experience with stalking and stalking victims. If I was on the jury, that would have been the moment that would have done it for me.

I may not agree with her, nor believe anything else out of her mouth....but I feel no urge to bash her on her book that I have not....nor will ever read! That's just me though.
I agree with you. I have heard others mentioned they feel the review is justified even though they haven't read the book because it is a textbook of sorts. I can understand why people are doing it, I myself, I wouldn't write a review either, just as I wouldn't write a review of someone who gave positive testimony. I would go buy their book.

She testified about taking her razor apart in jail and hiding it under her mattress to kill herself...gave herselg a small cut but stopped "because it hurt too much." Ironic huh?

This may have been brought up by someone a long time ago, but I wanna throw it out there....cause I'm curious...

When I look at the bloody sink picture....all I can think of is, that's where he was shot. At the sink. Lots of people are saying he coughed up blood there, and that's what its all from. But when I look at the specs of blood, to me I can totally see him being shot in the head, and the blood spattering in that direction. But then again, I think I remember them saying the bullet didn't exit...so that leads me more to think I'm probably not right.

What I find being mysterious is there is absolutely no reference to what was bothering him, not a word.

I can't imagine spending that much time argueing via texting That's 6 hours of wasted time, except it's now to Jodi's advantage. If it was by a phone call, this problem wouldn't exist, unless she might have recorded it. Do most of us have time nor the desire to deal with 18,000 messages? (I think that's the number I read)

If you look at Alyce and at what has happened and most likely will happen, the answer is a resounding yes.

@poppycock - I may have missed your post but did you ever mentioned which juror looks at JA alot? I"m wondering because JA has nodded and smiled on different occassions when the jury was leaving. It's always in the same place when she is looking closer to the galley. Is this close to the juror you saw looking at her?

    Thanks,

Don't you think before this is all over Juan will show the jury what prompted the texts? I feel certain he will do that. Otherwise, it lacks proper context and I don't believe he is going to leave the jury to speculate on something as important as this is. IMO

this is probably off topic but I wanted to mention that the shelves in the closet are NOT IKEA shelves that are particle board and can be rickety. They look like built in/custom shelves, probably solid wood which would be much sturdier. Yes the shelves rest on metal pegs but in these custom units there would also be 4 small slots routed-out so the shelf would be held in place not just laying on top of the pegs. Strong enough to hold JA based on her story. Having said that I don't believe the gun was up there but I don't think the prosecution needs to risk a demonstration in rebuttal that could backfire.

I don't know if this has been mentioned. For real? a twitter account translated through a friend named Donovan?

This bothers me too. I"m wondering if her part was deleted and couldn't be retrieved or it's too predudicial to bring in? I missed the forensic data guy, can deleted texts be recovered on a Helio phone? I'm wondering if she deleted only her portion of the convo and left his after the murder. This is the phone that was stolen/lost for two years until she decided to cop self defense.

I believe on the First Thread on MDS that is now locked in the first pages DB was posting as Karma4Ever and there is reference to her twitter & email address to verify. I'm new here and not sure how to bring that over.

That's okay. I have seen sooo much, I am not sure how I missed it. Had to mention it since I saw it today.

2,000+ followers.. I would never give her the satisfaction. She is a murderer. Who would want to encourage her?

Then why is the defense trying to keep it out? I believe if the defense doesn't want it in, it could harm Jodi's case.

Has anyone seen this picture? It's a CVS bag, in some sort of trash can. It appears to have products inside. It looks like a picture of a man in a swimsuit; so, boxes of tanning lotion that Jodi bought?

Wonder if this was thrown away in Travis' outside trash can, for some reason? Wonder if the boxes were full, and Jodi got mad hearing that she wasn't going to Cancun, and chucked the boxes in the trash in a fit?

As for the text messages, I can't make a judgment about whether Travis sounds unduly harsh, because we don't know what Jodi said prior to those comments. I believe they probably do know, but it was kept out of court for being "prejudicial" to Jodi. I don't think that is fair, because we are missing context.
It would be one thing if Travis just lashed out and called her names for no reason. But, it would be quite another thing if Jodi was threatening him, like with the phone sex tape that she recorded not long before. Imagine Jodi telling Travis that unless he kept seeing her, everyone was going to hear it, and see their pictures, etc. He obviously felt those things were wrong and would be looked upon badly by his friends and the Mormon church, so I could certainly see her blackmailing him and him getting angry enough to say what he said in return.

I can see him calling her heartless, a sociopath, saying that she was the worst thing that ever happened to him, if she was threatening to destroy his world to rubble.

This was a man who built himself up from nothing in childhood. He was financially well, he had a nice house, car; he traveled; he had lots of friends and a successful business persona; his friends were the vast majority members of his church; he was looking for a wife and to build a family. Imagine if Jodi comes in then and says she's going to expose his sexual proclivities to the people who loved and respected him; tell them that "hey Travis is not a good Mormon, and no good Mormon should want to be friends or a wife of such a man". I could certainly understand him lashing out.

As for Alyce? She's not worth the time for me to bother leaving bad reviews on her book. I haven't read it, won't read it, and she won't get a penny of my money. This trial has shown she's doing plenty of damage to herself.

I do feel somewhat concerned that her book may be used as a textbook, because she possesses this strict idea that all woman are victims, all men are abusers, and it can never be the other way around. That's teaching bias, not reality. Although, I assume this to be a college-level text, so I would hope that "kids" of that age would be able to take it for what it's worth and not swallow everything that Alyce says as the gospel truth.

If there are people out there though, with Alyce's philosophy, I can only imagine the harm they do and have done, if they are telling men that they are horrible mean abusers, or writing off their feelings because "men can't be victims", etc.

I'd like to know this too. Jury watchers have talked about one juror, middle-aged male, Donald Trump looking guy who seems quite taken with Jodi. Is this the one?

There is so much info out, that I can't remember how the aunt came into possession of the "found" phone. Did she turn it over to the police or what?

    This just takes the cake.

Donovan is operating a twitter account for Stabby. Not only that but also this http://www.jodiarias.com/ , which is her "art auction" site.

Jodi Arias operating Twitter page from jail with outside help

    @Jodiannarias

But how can Jodi Arias use Twitter from jail? She doesn't have a computer. She does it through this woman -- Donavan Bering -- a close friend Jodi talks to almost every night on the phone.

Donavan Bering was sitting with Jodi's mother in court today.

"She'll call and say 'I have a quote.' We'll talk about it. Sometimes she says 'let's tweet.' And then she'll say 'no let's not do it.'"

"I think it's a way of her getting out her frustration, because she doesn't have a chance to say much," explains Donavan.

But she also uses Twitter to further what appears to be a healthy business selling her art from behind bars.

Jodi tweeted, "eBay has banned all listings of my artwork. The silver lining in making my art more difficult to obtain is that it keeps increasing in value."

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office knows about what's going on, but is not moving to stop it.

"We do talk about the fact that Jodi seems to be able to reach out into the community in various ways and profit from her notoriety. We don't like it... but there is nothing we can do about it," said Lisa Allen, MCSO spokesperson.

Jodi has not been convicted, which means the sheriff's department can't stop her from selling her artwork.

Her attorneys know she is tweeting, and apparently they aren't very happy about it.
