Notebook is Manifesto - Part 2
Notebook is Manifesto - Part 2
Great post and great observations. This all was very noticeable yesterday. To me, it seemed like she was acting like Director. Constantly talking to JW throughout testimony, prompting her to object, having discussions with her as soon as breaks occur, flagging the mitigation specialist and obviously telling her what to do, etc. All as if she is running the whole damn show. I'm guessing this mode kicked in when she started realizing her ship is sinking...fast. It was pathetic and made my stomach turn. This chick's mind is so f*cked up I can't (& won't) even try to comprehend.
I think we can all agree yesterday was devastating for the defense, and I am left with one massive question. What kind of sane person names their restaurant "The Purple Helmet"? You know what I'm sayin? Is it a family establishment or a male strip club?
You can justify it all you want, but I am certain that 99% of those "reviews" are not left to "warn" potential customers, but in order to hurt LaViolet financially. Because they are pissed. It's a vengeance thing, which kind of grosses me out.
Let the people who actualy read the book review it. Just because LaViolette is testifying for the defense (for reasons not entirely known to us - I kind of suspect that she fell under Jodi's spell and is only just realizing this) does not mean that her book isn't any good or that it can't help people. I don't know and probably never will because of all the bogus reviews left by people who are bent on destroying her.

I didn't leave a bad review or any review for that matter, but I admit I laughed when I read some of them, and squirmed when I read some others (that were in poor taste).
I agree with you about LaV, in part. I feel bad that she wasn't given ALL the information in order to make a truly informed decision to state an opinion of DV and testify in this matter. It is a shame that the DT was unwilling to give her the goods, but unfortunately, LaV isn't helping herself up on the stand because, even in light of hearing or finding out contradicting info (from her opinion), she doesn't appear to be acknowledging it as much as she should be...almost defying it and JM on the stand. I don't like that about her. She isn't up there to testify as to only facts and circumstances that show Jodi in a good light, she is also supposed to go where the evidence goes...if something JM brings up is truth and it swings the other way (toward TA), I would hope LaV would acknowledge it. Her opinion of DV WAS based on only partial evidence. When learning about ALL the evidence, her opinion should sway the other way...but I see her defying even new info she wasn't allowed to see before. It's like she's still cherry-picking what she wants to believe in order to keep her original DV opinion.
Whether she's swayed toward TA's side or not, she's still going to get paid regardless. But because she's fighting the truth of any new info brought out by JM and acting the way she is, I think that's why people are getting so emotional and leaving her bad reviews on her book. If she had had a doctor review site like Samuels, I'd imagine, people would be spouting hatred over there instead. The book review is all people have at the moment. This testimonyl is emotional for a lot of us, mainly because we either have been abused, or we know someone who has been abused.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not saying those bad reviews are right, but perhaps that's why people are doing it (because they are so riled up over her testimony...oh, and maybe the fact that the price of her book is too high...those are textbook prices. Ouch.)
Snipped to conserve space...Oh yes, Ian, I have no doubt she is looooving every minute of this. It's written all over her face. She loves planning strategy with her team and matching wits with Martinez. Remember the little smile on her face while she was being cross examined by him? Most of all I think she loves the attention...I'm sure she follows the local news coverage at the jail. She is a BIG DEAL (in her mind) now and that is SO much better than what she was doing before.
I was wondering yesterday, when she was staring off into space and licking her lips, was she reliving the stabbing, how good it felt? Morbid I know...maybe she was just bored and had dry lips but my mind goes to some very dark places since I got sucked into this trial.
Batman, when do the group therapy sessions start??!

Alyce works in a field filled with manipulators. The fact that she would in good faith take everything Stabby says/said as "fact" should raise all kinds of red flags.
Is Alyce on the phone with Stabby? Getting reamed for her testimony? Rumor has it that Stabby is most unhappy with Alyce. yesterday she seemed to done with Alyce, like she was with Samuels.
Nurmi was chatty with Stabby according to court attendees on Twitter. He's watching the jury, looking for the next one to bump off.
It's JW's IPhone that she's stalking. She watches it every movement and stares at it lovingly.
It seems most of the questions have been generated during JM's cross. I can't wait for the jury questions.
That's not Sandy Arias, wrong hair color. The FB page is filled with almost as many conspiracy loons as the JAII site.
Good luck and please get an autograph from Katie Wick DDJ for her most ardent fan Coconut.
Excellent post and great insight.
Bingo!
You are bad, bad, bad. I like it![]()
Purple Helmet? Sounds like someone got their pecker slammed in the door or something..that sounds nasty
I was one of the people who left a negative review entitled Shame On You!!! A few days ago, I actually deleted it. I felt guilty for it and felt my review gave nothing really, in way of an actual BOOK review. I was reviewing my opinion on the author herself. It was a great internal debate, lol. I felt a bit of joy after I wrote it and hit enter...sort of like "Haha! Take THAT, Alyce!" I just didn't FEEL good after a few days of knowing it was up there. I can't explain it. I guess I changed my mind. I mean, this stuff is all over the news. Most people and mental health/DV professionals know what's going on. I, often times, will google an author prior to making a purchase. If I have a request for any mh/dv help type books, I ask my therapist her recommendations. She's NOT a fan of Dr. Dick or ALV, as of late.
That all being said. Yesterday, I felt a bit sorry for ALV, as the DT hadn't provided all the info...told her to "work with what she had". That being said, at any time she could have spoken up and said "I don't work that way" or "I need certain tools to perform a thorough evaluation". At the end of the day, she didn't do that. That's where I stopped feeling bad for her. She could have walked away from the job at ANY given time. I guess it's my opinion that the almighty dollar spoke more to her than a sense of duty. That makes me sick.
That's just my $.02 on the matter(s) at hand.
Doll-Face, another fab post =)
The best I can understand, Jodi was super nice to all the men. The women that worked with her didn't think much of her. One woman said that Jodi was very flirty with men.
Jodi is "that" woman x's a million. Most of us have met a woman like that before. They love men, and they thrive off of a man's attention. They are super confident and witty around men. They also like to do the "woo is me" around men to be bailed out. They always need a man to help them out. Car breaks down and they need help, they need a ride, need to borrow a phone, need money, need advice, need a shoulder to cry on, etc... These types of women don't really care what the man looks like, they just thrive off of the attention.
I've met a few in my life.
Wondering, will ALV bring her damn glasses with her to the stand today?
I do have to give her the Quote of the Day for "I am not an orgasm expert!"
I just think that AL has offended a lot of DV victims which she claims to be an advocate for and she turns around and whores herself out for this trial. DVVs on the most part including me personally do not see JA as DVV we see her as an opportunist. Same goes for her trying to use the TA was a pedo story, I take great offense to that as well.
I think it's fair game. The books are on domestic violence. Her testimony is on domestic violence and you get to see what she's like personally, what she believes, and what prejudice's she has. Many actual domestic violence victims feel their cause is harmed by the author painting Ms. Arias the murderer as a victim. In my opinion, the public can't be too informed -- the more informed they are the better choices they can make.
This author has said a client's history of lying and manipulating others from 14 to 28 has no impact on whether her stories are true regarding domestic abuse.
I'm not buying that book.I have too many other choices for objective DV expert authors.
It does and that can be disconcerting at times for me. Witnesses, attorneys, judges, media are just doing their jobs. Sometimes poorly, sometimes misguided in "our" opinions, sometimes over-zealously -- but none of these people deserve anything more than light-hearted ribbing or considered disagreement from "us". We shouldn't be throwing a noose over the lot of their heads and hanging them all.Dunno, it gets pretty rabid around here, too. Lots of die bitch die...
She'll never get paid again if that happens.
Defenses do what's called "expert witness shopping" for these trials. Nurmi/Wilmott probably sent documents out to 10 different expert witnesses, and chose the one who can best support their case.
Ms. Laviollette has the knowledge & expertise to be an excellent resource for DV. Her problem is she, in this instance, has not been a good witness.
She made a decision to take a personal stance against the prosecutor in her time on the stand. And that is unprofessional, self-centered, and harms her client IMO.

In 8 days ALaV has made approximately $20,000 off the citizens of AZ. Each juror has made $100 in 8 days.
Before this thread goes nuts, Dr Drew will have a lip reader on the show tonight to translate whatever Jodi's saying. Hope this person will be able to decipher.
Alyce wants to give Juan Martinez a "Time Out". I can';t believe she got away with this. The Judge should have excused the Jury and then read her the riot act.
How many canned lines do you guys think Alyce has left in her bag of tricks? From the "Are you mad at me, Mr Martinez" to this nonsense yesterday her act is wearing thin, jmo.
I have been trying to find anyone doing this over the past couple weeks and it has not been available.. I wonder what moments they will be lipreading.. Yesterday she was saying some juicy stuff to JW and they got "caught" by the cameras and move over to the door. I wish I knew what they were saying!
