That's the camp I'm in... the gunshot was last and either a Coup de gr?ce or like you say a panic shot.

It was a matter of time until she would be homeless and totally broke. At that point, she was faced with the undeniable fact that she was broke, unskilled and not very special. That's a pretty bitter blow. She was glib enough to maintain an illusion that she was special and Travis fell for it--for a while. The experience of Palm Desert did indeed make Jodi Arias change--for the worse. Money and status was far more important to Jodi than has come out so far. She referred to the fact that she wished she had more money in her interview with Flores--at one point saying "this wouldn't have happened if I had more money." I don't know what she meant by "this."

To be very clear, I have nothing but respect and sympathy for the thousands of good people that got burned when the housing bubble collapsed.
I think it's time to bring Brewer back.

Agreed, but I think that she used one of TA's throw pillows to muffle the shot. At that time of day during the week neighbors would be coming home from work, etc. Could be why there is no stippling with such a well-placed shot to the temple.

Maybe she meant if she had $$ she could have bought an elite "dream team" defense and beat the charges...

and being greedy is akin to being selfish and she seems to be both... in addition to the 10 Commandments she should have checked out the 7 deadly sins...

Juror #5 is the joke. When you are on the jury of a case like this.. the last thing you should be doing is joking about it.

I think she is just bitter and probably a bit embarrassed, trying to throw something out there that takes the blame of herself rather than excepting responsibility for what ever she did.

So much for her original statement saying she was going to not talk about anything until after the trial was over.

It was a joke she made while Samuels was on the stand to the effect of "If they can pay $300 an hour they could get us better chars" or something along those lines

I'll tell a story here: A girlfriend's father was dying in hospice here and we visited regularly. He passed when I alone was in the room with him and the family was out eating/running errands. I informed the nurse & she left the room. For whatever reason I did not feel it would be "right" for me to leave him alone in that room, so I stayed. After about 30-45 minutes his body let out an audibly loud sound as it released air/relaxed or something of the sort. Scared the everloving shat out of me, but was later informed that's normal.

I think Jodi killed Travis with the knife. She thought he was dead on the floor or in the shower as she was beginning to clean up & stage the crime scene. At some point Travis was either still alive or his body let out that expired sound I heard in hospice. Jodi was frightened & grabbed the gun & shot him in the head. She did not realize how freaking loud a gun is in an enclosed space, got scared others may have heard it, and bolted from the scene leaving it a mess and leaving incriminating evidence behind.

One this about the shell casing. Those things are ejected with velocity and can bounce all over the place in a room hitting ceiling, walls, etc. But note that the blood it was on top of had to have coagulated for some period of time -- otherwise it would have sunk down into it. Which supports the idea of the delayed shot, along with no bleedout from the wound.
Makes a lot of sense Sheesh.

I joke all the time. Put me with with a bunch of strangers/jurors on a case with this much ludicrous testimony and I'm going to crack a few jokes in our off time eating lunch. Sequester me, more jokes. Life is funny, laughter is healthy.

Someone on that jury wanted this juror off the panel, so they tattled on her. The implications are obvious.

I thought it was Jodi's mom who told on her. I could be wrong.

Is Nurmi right to say it is a fantasy to think Jurors will follow the rules and not watch or read about any trial coverage? I've never been on a Jury so I can't say for sure but knowing myself (as I do) I'd have to resolve watch NO TV because the curiosity would be too tempting. I'd stick to Netflix and DVD's. Maybe other people wouldn't have a problem with it... but I'm a news junkie.

The defense wanted her off and the judge thought it was the best move to take her off. I think it was more than just a joke about better chairs.

I understand joking around to lighten the mood or what ever, but in a case like this, I would think (and maybe I am way off base here) that you would want to keep your comments to yourself if there was even a small chance that something could happen.
that is a general you, not YOU you.

Is it that someone wanted her off, or they were asking the individual jurors about stuff and it came up that she had made these comments? I think if someone wanted her gone, they would have come forward with the info as soon as it happened. I could be way off though.. I dunno

exactly, it's human nature and you have to maintain your sanity (especially in THIS trial)

But knowing that you could potentially cause a mistrial in a case as huge as this one... that wouldn't make you think twice about saying something to someone else on the jury?
