you guys were given the ultimate gift! you can now create sub-topics related to the jodi arias trial...

i suggest possibly creating a 'hate on the defense team thread' so that i can come here to catch up on the trial without being offended by all the baldy this, fatty that stuff...

maybe we can limit this thread to discussion of the trial and take the other stuff to other threads that YOU CREATE!!! neato, huh!

I've wondered the same thing. It doesn't read like screaming to me either, or out of control in any way, but some people are more sensitive to that sort of thing than others.

Example: Where I live now, people are very laid back, and my communication style is sometimes seen as too direct. I now try and keep this in mind when dealing with people from this region. One time, a few years back, I went to the movie with a friend who was from this area, and another friend of mine who was visiting from NYC. While waiting in line, the NYC friend and I were discussing a topic from the news, and having what I would call a lively discussion about it. After the movie was over and we parted ways, my local friend told me how upset she was, because I had been screaming so hatefully at my NYC friend, and he screamed back. She found it upsetting and said I needed to call him right away and apologize because it was all so horrible. I was surprised, and that was not how I remembered it, but I certainly did not want to insult a friend, so I called him, and said "Hey, I'm sorry if I upset you earlier", and he was like "Huh?? When?".... "when I was yelling"..... "huh? when were you yelling? wtf are you talking about?. So obviously, what both my NYC friend and I saw as a lively discussion, my local friend saw as horrible, vicious, yelling and fighting.

Nobody was right or wrong, people just have different perceptions.

I felt like he was sending the message to ALV early on, similar to the same message he sent to Doc Dick: That HE is in charge of directing the cross exam, not them. With the direct exam, they get to take the conversations all over the place. When he takes over, it's a different ball game. They do seem to learn that he plays hardball pretty quickly, though!!

If I didn't know any better I would think this tactic belongs to Wilmont as it feels like female bullying. You know how that goes, one female does the taunting and the gaggle of other females stand around. The real bully is ready to stab you in the back.

I do wish he had stopped ALV in her tracks when she said "Are you angry at me?" and said "I get to ask the questions, not you!"

I don't understand what's so difficult about it. I can't say I regret paying Premium, but once the trial is over, I don't plan on renewing. It's quite a bummer because I love MDS because of this thread, but apparently- according to others- this thread isn't the ideal representation of MDS. Point taken...

Here are some scenarios to get you started. You are:
    1. An unruly expert witness and forget your testimony on the stand
    2. Court reporter held late after trial to review transcription
    3. Paralegal assigned to help Juan with the case
    4. Judge losing patience with his rough questioning
    5. Fan on the courthouse steps competing with Katie Wick for his attention
I don't get the JM is a dreamboat bit, but to each their own. I am a Keith Partridge kinda girl ...dating myself big time..I believe JA will be convicted of murder 1 and should be. I just don't like JM style. I live in NYC and am used to loud. I can be kinda loud too. He just is over the top for me. Unless I have a couple vodka and sodas in me, I have to turn the volume down. That said, I respect all the JM fans.

Yes, I agree that she got somewhere with that one. The other, not so much.

I would do neither. I would answer the questions as calmly as I could, injecting as little emotion into it as possible.

The trial isn't about her and her compulsive dislike of anything that has a cock and balls.

In fact, her behavior could be a problem if the jury seems to like Juan Martinez. If she's too rude and difficult towards the prosecutor, she may well lose any credibility she has.
I agree. I went to observe a trial for work once, and the expert witness was difficult, rude and belligerent (worse than Alyce). I came away thinking, what a nutter!

    @MorbidlyLovely
BTW, I also can't help but wonder if Jodi didn't spend the 6 weeks before her arrest burning the midnight oil at the Grandparents' place carefully rewriting that 2008 journal to include a few little "extra" entries...and maybe even more than the 2008 one. I don't think she's doing in it jail...I think she did it laying the groundwork for her alibi, kind of like she was tailoring her stories to Flores to match the forensics. I think that's why she wanted them find those journals...she knew what she'd written in them.

HAHA that is awesome. Between that and her book reviews she fucked up big time. Was it discussed yesterday that maybe she was offered a cash prize for oozing all this trash? Or was that someone else?
