I thought the ones prosecution used where so dark! I kept thinking, did they even use a flash? These are bright and visible! Maybe it's the glare, and the live stream that makes them appear poor quality?

I know what you mean. Even though we've seen Travis dead, seeing him in the blue body bag is just so, so sad. I hope he indeed gets the justice he deserves.

One thing I noticed was the way that Jodi was staring down the jurors.....just watching their every move. In the midst of this circus of a trial, the sense of who is in control seems to have become lost. This jury should have been sequestered, and they needed to put a seasoned and no-nonsense judge on the bench. I'm not sure how they select who presides, but this judge seems too lenient in what she allows. The conduct of the lawyers, of the observers, of the defendant.....it's become a free-for-all. I'm not faulting the judge, as I don't think she was prepared for the legal tidal wave that this case has become. Now that it's well underway, I'm sure she is very mindful of not doing anything that might be cause for mistrial, but I am getting a bit nervous with some of what I see going on. The Mitigation Specialist laughing? A booted juror being allowed back into the courtroom? Disrespect of the prosecutor by the witnesses? This trial needs a full time judge, who does not put up with any crap which could blow this case out of the water. I can't blame JM for being frustrated.....ALV sits up there, talking about how embarrassing it has been for JODI to have pictures of her genitals up for all the world to see??!! ALV says "she wrote things she never thought would be seen by others. She took pictures she never thought would be seen by others." Really now, Alyce? She also committed the most HEINOUS murders, ever, and she never thought she'd be CAUGHT by others. I'm sure Travis really enjoys having his whole reputation, life, personal issues put on display for the entire world to see because a little psycho-criminal like Jodi couldn't tell the friggin TRUTH if her life depended on it! OH, WAIT....her life DOES depend on it! And, nope, she STILL can't tell the friggin truth. Where is that needle? I want to volunteer to shove in it her arm, myself. ME! Pick ME!!

I can and will fault the judge. By allowing the disrespect to the court, from the spectators, she has shown a lack of control. That same lack of control seems to show in the behaviors of both the State and especially the defense team and Ms Arias. Fair is good, removing appeal-ability is awesome but allowing eating, drinking, menacing behavior by Ms Arias toward the jury (staring them down), and allowing facial and physical coaching and reactions above the emoting scale, this all shows a lack of control. It ids the Judge's courtroom, she needs to control it better.

I, however, won't attack the Prosecutor and not fault the defense team as well. If someone is going to go ape poopy on the State's actions and words then please feel free to critique the defense team as well.

We've heard JA; Dr. Dick and Alyce all repeat the SAME story; almost verbatim...right down to the linebacker description. Never heard that in a trial before. JA's put out a story and has repeated it over and over and over again as a script. I find it odd that there is no deviation. I believe JA had a rough draft of it ready in May, just in case she was caught. When she did get caught, she fine tuned it. That's why there's such phoney baloney writings in her journal.

I have to wonder if the DT didn't tell JA to stare 'em down. I was a witness in a criminal case with some pretty damning testimony. The defendant stared me down as I walked to the stand, testified and walked off the stand. Very intimidating, but I didn't let it show. I stared right back, giving the evil eye as I walked out. I don't believe the defendant could think up that tactic independently. I noticed after I was done, the defendant did it to every witness.

Thanks so much for posting this. Great article, and I'm only half way through; totally engrossing! The author/Dr.'s lengthy, incredibly insightful discussion and summation of the case; his/her in depth analysis of Jodi (including possible diagnoses); his/her excruciatingly detailed dissection of Dr. Samuel's totally unprofessional, unfounded testimony; his/her discussion of domestic abuse vis a vis this case and ALV are spot on, and what one might expect from "expert" testimony. There are a few lines in there that I wish JM could/would use in in his closing argument; chilling, leaving no doubt whatsoever that this was indeed an act of pre-meditated murder at the hand of a sociopath. I wish this "expert" was included on Juan's list of witnesses/rebuttal case, it would be "case closed!"

Me three. I am fairly new, and admit I have spent almost all my time on MDS on the Jodi Arias thread. Since the rep feature disappeared with no explanation today, I decided to wander the site and try and find the explanation. Well, I found the official explanation, but I also found lots of extremely negative, insulting and derisive comments about this whole thread, and the people who post on it. I was shocked at the vitriolic criticism expressed.

I am puzzled why anyone would hate any thread in particular? Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but I am puzzled by the hatred for an entire thread. If people aren't interested in this particular thread, why not just skip reading it?

I am also puzzled and insulted by the scathing comments about the participants on this thread in general. Why make a thread about a high profile trial then detest the people who come to your site to post on it? Don't you want more people to participate on MDS?

I had not gone to premium yet, but I was about to when the thread was closed for several days, which was off putting for me. Then the new thread started, and things were mostly going well, now this new slap. As a newer participant, these things do not make me feel like MDS is a place where I am welcome. If that is the intention, great, mission accomplished. If that is not the intention (to make new people feel unwelcome), then perhaps a different approach might be better.

Wouldn't it just blow up if it turns out this was all a Stabby-Donovan-Juror5 plot to get a mistrial? Stabby looks almost giddy when she came into trial today. Donovan was all decked out in her 70's peace-love-dope tie-dyed duds. First Juror 5 is accused of giving Jodi signals then the defense is claiming she's tainting the jury against Stabby and she's got the boot. Then, in a most bizarre act, the juror shows up to trial. A conspiracy nut would have a field day.

Isn't one of the functions of the rep button, a way of giving a short reply to a post you like? Instead of clogging up the thread with a bunch of one liners and smileys, the rep button is an alternative to that. That was my understanding. Maybe instead of smites, put in a dislike button. Leave the smite option for the real assholes. I've never smited anybody, because it just seems a little extreme for disagreeing with someone. This is really lame.

I noticed that too, and found it very bizarre. Telling the exact same story using the exact same terms makes the defense case look less believable, not more. Think about kids playing the Telephone game... as the story gets passed along from person to person, small details change and the specific words used change a little too. When every person uses the same words, it is clear there was a script, not the natural passing of a story from one person to another.

Funny....Vladmir followed me on Twitter for one day and since I am leaning more towards Travis being the victim here, he unfollowed me the next day. Whether you believe that Juan is unprofessional or not, he gets results. The jury is no longer being lulled to sleep by Nurmi and Palin.

1. hundreds of off-topic posts (like my own right now) every hour
2. bickering and fighting over the karma system
3. short meaningless posts that have no content other than a smilie
4. members reporting posts just because they disagree
5. utter lack of interest in any of the other threads or articles on MDS
6. fringe loons who represent the very worst refugees from both JAII and the State Facebook page

Also, for me anyway,

-People using cutesy nicknames like "Stabby", "Hodi", ""Wurmi", LaToilette", "LaVa", etc. I just find it silly and childish. It brings the intellectual level of the thead down two notches (exactly two) and it's not exactly super high to begin with.

-Name calling and making fun of everyone on the defense side, including Jodi's little brother. I mean WTF. I also find the organized attacks on both Dr Samuels's & Alyce LaViolette's websites etc. particularly alarming.

I'm not sure why anybody is surprised about JM. He has done this with every witness. He comes out hitting hard, then he finally settles down. I suspect Monday he will start pinpointing inaccurate stuff. Really, he only had about 20 minutes yesterday with Alyce.

Yes, and he does this for a reason. He puts them totally off guard and they get confused and admit to things or say things that they didn't intend to. He also makes them look stupid and unprofessional. This is important if you want people to discredit these witness's testimonies. He was very successful at discrediting Dr. Samuels and I suspect he will also be with Alyce LaViolette. Also, he's entertaining. I bet the judge yesterday was like, "Yes, FINALLY! Some entertainment!"

The one thing about Alyce testimony from yesterday that left me shocked-Was when she said Travis was not the victim.

One of the things Martinez was able to get out of her by putting her off guard.
