My father was a prosecutor so I don't have as good of a grasp on "dense" (defense, lol, thanks Sneeks!) theory.

my questions are:

Isn't it likely that the defense has impressed upon Arias' family that the appearence of their support could mean the difference between LWOP and death for Stabi?

Is it possible the defense is somehow providing some (maybe financial) support? Could they write it off somehow?

I'm positive the 'dense' has made clear that having a show of family support for Stabby in the courtroom could have a big impact on the verdict. I'm also sure the family will testify in support of Stabby if she is convicted during the sentencing phase of the festivities.

I have to disagree with those that think this was intentional. I doubt these peoples lives revolve around Jodi Arias like some of ours seemingly do with this trial. They were at Disney World! Their badges say Wild Africa Trek and they are wearing what look like vests. Perhaps it's hot, and girl likes to wear her hair in a style that keeps her cool. Depending on the time of year they went, FL can be hot as fuck. As for the picture itself, him kissing her on her cheek and her snapping the photo, these kinds of photos are all over Facebook (isn't that where their photo was jacked from?) and Instagram. It's a thing, like duck lips is/was a thing, so yes, it's eerily similar to a picture of Jodi and Travis. I'm sure these people didn't take this picture and post it to FB knowing someone would peep out their Facebook, jack it and post it on a message board that discusses the murder trial of Jodi Arias. C'mon.

But this is John Dixon, who she had a lunch date with and Travis called him John Dickhead I believe on the sextape and said he didn't like him and that he was not a member of the LDS church. I do think it is a spoof pic. They look like they are in costume, maybe doing a 1000 places to see safari in Africa theme. She even has on sunglasses like stabby has on in photos and is smiling like stabby. Can anyone see any comments on the FB page?

I don't know, the possibilities are all kind of...well, crazy, as you said.

There was (is?) a lot of speculation that Daniel Freeman was very much infatuated with Jodi when she was with Travis. Perhaps that speculation was misdirected onto the wrong brother?

The Freeman family was, by all accounts, VERY close to Jodi. She was a constant visitor to their home. Jodi's arrest must have had them reeling that day...then to have their son go plug himself in the head that VERY. SAME. DAY.

Inexplicable doesn't even begin to cover it in my mind at the moment. I wish there were more details if it was an impulsive act (which would surely be a red flag of some sort in my suspicious mind) or if he'd been battling depression or had a drug problem or...fuck, ANYTHING regarding the circumstances.

Maybe it's coincidental. Maybe not. Maybe he was close to Jodi, already battling depression and her arrest put him over the edge? Maybe he knew/suspected something and he was suffering from guilt? Maybe he was the brother infatuated with Jodi and her arrest put him over the edge? So many possibilities left open for speculation.

I think the date of is of particular significance, though, no matter what the cause, simply because Jodi's arrest must have had the entire Freeman household in disbelief that day.

I suspect, like so many things about this case, it's one of those things that may never been explained and, like what Travis knew, perhaps what Joshua might have known is buried with him, too.

What a bizarre coincidence, and to have remained undetected here for so long! This long explanation is on the caringbridge site. I find it odd the page has 7,200 visitors and only two tributes. Perhaps you have to donate to see all the tributes. I doubt the Freeman's found out about Stabby's arrest the very day it happened, and if so it would have taken a backseat to this tragedy. I see no connection at all. What I do remember about Daniel and Desire is that they seemed a bit odd. Maybe this is why. This made me think of Sandusky and all the boys he molested, but not one that I have heard of committing suicide. This is unusual, I think there were other demons. If Joshua would kill himself to prevent himself from harming a child, he certainly would not commit murder!

Background Story


First we will go back in time to what the underlying cause of this event has been. When Joshua was six or seven he was sexually abused by a neighbor child and had repressed the experience until about a year ago. Up until a year ago he had never had any issue with it or any thoughts surrounding it. Then a year ago the thoughts, emotions, and feelings involved returned and they hit him hard.

His greatest fear was to become that... he read that those who were abused often became abusers. To Joshua this was the worst thing he could imagine becoming. Joshua and I talked of this often and how to deal with the thoughts and feelings. He was worried about having his own children and scared to death that he would become what he most feared.

On numerous occasions Joshua said he would rather die than do that to someone else and destroy their life the way his had been. I have recently been reminded of the scriptures saying, 'if your hand offend thee cut it off,' or 'it is better that a mill stone be hung about your neck than to offend of these, my little ones...' This was Joshua's greatest fear, that he would become what he feared so much.

Here are a few words from Josh's perspective in the note he wrote to our family.

"My dear family: This note will be my farewell to you... by the time you read this I will have already ended my life. I cannot ask you to forgive me for what I have done, but please allow me to explain.

"You know very well the struggle that I have been facing. I have spent the past year experiencing what I can only describe as 'hell', As I have said many times before, I would rather die than ever hurt a child.

"I'm certain the question you're asking is "Why didn't you keep fighting?' Why did I choose to end my life now? Because I refuse to allow my personality, my desires, to be twisted by this sickness. I have chosen the excise this cancer in the only way I know how. If I must go to hell, then I will go on my own terms. I will go selfishly and stupidly perhaps, but as one who was willing to give up EVERYTHING to keep his promise."

That is what was occuring in his life and his thoughts. The few days beforehand Joshua was serene and at peace. I thought he had made remarkable progress but now I see where the peace came from. Though I do not agree with what he did I see that from his perspective and the beliefs that he held to be true he made a decision that in his mind was the most noble one possible. My brother is noble in every essence of the word and though the Devil may think he has won God has a plan for him and he will be at peace.

The miracles that blessed us and bless us with an extra week to say goodbye:

1. My mother was to take the car to two shops to get some things fixed because the first shop couldnt do one of the repairs... well when they finished they informed her they had looked at it anyway and fixed it... free of charge!

2. She was to drop someone off somewhere but that worked out last minute and she didnt have to.

3. A neighbor who went with my mother was invited in for lunch but said she couldnt which is good because had she said yes they would have put the puppy in the kennel and eaten lunch at that moment.

4. We recently fostered our dear sister Delia and because of the fostering process we had to get a gunsafe and lock up all the guns. This was a huge blessing because he had to buy his own gun (a small pistol). Had it been one of ours he would not have survived as they were very large pistols.

5. Because of the others my mother was home and took the puppy to go to the bathroom in the backyard. She wandered over into the shade by the tree and watched while the puppy went to the bathroom and then watched as the puppy wandered towards the side of the house. She then saw something and got closer to realize it was Joshua.

She ran in and yelled for my dad grabbing the phone to call the police. My dad held him until the police arrived and slowed the bleeding. I was in the front yard working on my truck and ran into the backyard as soon as my mother came out crying on the phone to meet the police.

IF not for these blessings we would not have had the time to say goodbye to him while he was yet in this life. The timing was perfect and we are all so thankful to our father in heaven for it, especially me...

Despite five serious wounds, the victim was rushed to the hospital, had extensive surgery, and survived. The shooter was tried for attempted murder, and forced me to testify to a totally different version of the facts. They were acquitted. I was six years old at the time of the shooting.

The incident was never, ever discussed after that. On the rare occasions when I did think about it, I "remembered" the version I had been forced to testify to. When I was in college, I started having a recurring nightmare/vision that I could not comprehend. I eventually found it so disturbing that I saw a psychiatrist, and it turned out to be the memory of the real details of the shooting that I had been suppressing all those years. Years later, the shooter confirmed that my recovered memory was indeed what had really happened.

The cross with Alyce should be interesting to say the least. She is well accustomed to dealing with arrogant bad tempered little shits, but nevertheless it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes JM before he asks her if she has “memory problems”, and subsequently if Alyce can resist bouncing the water jug off JM’s new wig. We shall see.

I had an extremely abusive childhood, and was raised by a sociopath, so I had and still have issues, but I work on them every single day. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and I did survive the whole mess and have actually done quite well, especially considering my childhood.

Dr. Samuels testified that it was her brother, Carl, who told him of Jodi having a gun held to her head when she was 13 (?) by some random stranger.

If that's true, why wouldn't that ill-gotten defense team have parlayed that experience into some psychobabble about Jodi's alleged PTSD stemming from *THAT* incident and that's why she went full-on batshit on Travis in the bathroom that day?

Hell, why not call someone who actually knows and is related to her to try to make sense of all this fuckery? Or at least confirm the allegations of parental abuse.

Good question. There hasn't been a single relative, coworker or friend called by the defense, except Darryl, has there? Alyce is their last witness, their last hope of selling self-defense to the jury. And her testimony so far has been based on what Jodi has told her and Jodi's journals...well the jury has known from day 1 that Jodi is a pathological liar, so everything she told Alyce is worthless. As for the journal entries Wilmott is using to show that Jodi had no jealousy toward Travis at all, only love, all Martinez has to do on cross is put up the entry for June 9, 2008 where she wrote "OMG I just found out Travis is dead! WHO could have done such a thing?" (paraphrasing.) So the journal is more lying, therefore out the window too, leaving basically nothing.

I don't think the DT ever thought they had a chance at selling self-defense but they gave it their best shot. Nurmi has looked totally defeated and checked-out for weeks. Wilmott seems to be into it though...
