The Hoover Dam checkpoint is just that....a checkpoint where patrol officers are in play. Wouldn't these patrol officers have noticed that SHE was "covered in blood." And contacted the authorities ?

Yeah, the crazy people walk among us. When I was 17 my boss got arrested and convicted of murder and sentenced to death. A couple years ago I witnessed a shooting in a grocery store parking lot and a cousin got a sexual assault conviction in 2 states (same victim, his child) and got 80yrs in NE and awaiting sentencing in IA. However, I can honestly say that if I owned a gun, I too would be in jail. I have been that angry.

I'm gonna ask a question that I've been wanting to ask for weeks but have held back 'cause I didn't want to appear like a dope. I know MIT stands for 'mitigation' (as in Mitigation Specialist) but what the hell does that stand for? Where does she fit into the scheme of things? What does she do? Who sent her? Who employs her? Is she sort of like an independent contractor? Is she expected to eventually do anything more than flit back and forth offering an ear for Jodi Arias to whisper into? How does one qualify for the position?

Yesterday I went on a bit about the defense budget and Sneaker picked up on it, did the work and came up with the answers. Maybe I'll get lucky again. I'll justify trying to fill my knowledge gap by falling back on that old adage, 'There are no stupid questions; only stupid answers;' and that latter observation has never come to me from anyone on this thread.

I like a good joke and sarcasm. However, I can't imagine the pain of his friends and family. Studying her would be interesting. Too bad that she will never share what really goes on in that head of hers. Waterboarding could be justified. It's just so lame to claim amnesia and not have to answer for her actions.

I know that a mit specialist is required for death penalty cases. They do a lot of foot work obtaining all sort of information, school records, birth records, police reports, family history, mental health reports etc. They analyze the data and find the mitigating factors that apply to the case.

I must say that getting obsessed with this trial has made me aware of the other grisley murders on here, and therefore 'scared of the dark'. I had to do irrigation from 11-1:30 a.m. just now cause husby is out of town, and I was watching my back being outside at that hour, and I hear noises now when he is not here. A jury question asked about adrenaline yesterday. They wanted to know if your adrenaline output would increase if YOU were killing somebody. Then there were objections and a pause in the trial.
The question stood when they came back from the sidebar, and the dr was told to answer the question.

The dr answered the question by saying "it was possible, but not probable"
The next question from the jury was- If not, then why? And the dr. said people are different (in so many words)

I really don't get what the Doc. meant when he used the term 'unorganized.' What kind of a distinction is he making. Does he mean that the weapons Jodi Arias brought with her did not work as efficiently as planned and Travis had opportunity to try to defend himself and cause a mess? When I was in 7th grade, this boy really liked me. I wasn't into him. He was in with gangs, not my type, always in trouble. I did what I could to avoid him. He would pass me note, etc. Finally, one day in metal shop, he decided to make a "shank" type tool and after our mutual class together, he walked out behind me, and put the "shank" to my back. A friend saw and pushed him away. I was shaking. I didn't know what to do. I didn't tell anyone. The friend that had helped me was so upset. She passed me a note about it in class. Luckily the teacher intercepted it and then questioned me and the boy got susupended.

Somehow it died down and he wasn't worried about me anymore by 8th grade. But he did end up raping and murdering a 13 year old girl and leaving her body in an empty apartment complex. Needless to say, it could have been me.

It is now years later, he was tried as a juvenile and he got released from prison a few years ago. Imagine my horror when I got a friend request from him a year ago.

I have wondered if Travis didn't have something that maybe would incriminate her. I've always assumed that there was something financial (like she had money to pay him for stuff, or he gave her something and she sold it and then lied to him about what happened to it), or maybe he simply knew too much about her.

Yesterday I had been wondering about her motive, and really, it all comes down to control. By the text messages that the defense team has used to paint Travis as some evil bastard (who the hell hasn't said mean, horrible things to someone during a fight?), it's clear that Travis is attempting to break free from Jodi. She obviously can't have that. I don't even think it had to do with other women. I think the fact that Travis was getting to the point where he didn't want ANY contact with her, was unacceptable to her. She could always use sex, and maybe her sob story to get him to do things she wanted, but if he really began to assert himself, she might lose that control. She couldn't have that; she has to be in control of everything, at all times.

She is so terrifying!! I'm freaking myself out by talking about it too much! -thinks of happy things-
