Do you know what the maximum sentence is for murder 2nd degree, in AZ?

One of the talking heads (a real judge) just said that he refers to this case as Fifty Shades of Cray
    (as in cray cray).

Not happening. There is no way, no how a reasonable person could even begin to consider Travis kept a gun. She'd would have needed to take the alleged holster, extra bullets, and other crap he supposedly owned in order to leave no trace of the gun -- who the fuck stages self-defense to look like first degree capital murder?

It's not remotely believable the gun came from anywhere except Jodi's purse, and that she obtained it less than a week before murdering him. Premeditation is a slam dunk.
Ma'am, what is hard to explain about a person breathing or not breathing? what is so difficult? why is that a difficult concept for you?

Yes, those are built in shelves in the "mock up". That is not what Travis had. So of course the result is different.

Someone mentioned on the FB page that the mitigator has been sanctioned for sneaking "papers" from Stabby to her mother two days ago. Wish I knew more. Anyone else know something about this?

I get what you are saying. And I agree. I think the chaos came because the killing did not go as she planned it it. In her mind, I think she was the star in her own little "Jodi kills Travis" scenerio. She thought she would go STAB STAB STAB, he would die neatly, right in the shower. She'd be on her way....and she'd ride off into her own little fog of a sunset. But, real life happened, instead. Travis fought back.....and he fought hard. He bled all over the place. Evidence went flying. I think she started to clean up, and realized that it was fruitless. And I'm sure she was panicking, because the longer she was in that house, the more chance that she'd get caught. And Doc Dick also said she would have never have left the "evidence" of the camera behind. Well, he forgot that she deleted those pictures.....she thought they were gone.

    22 years I believe.

Hey guys n girls, I hate to say it, but this trial is going another 3 weeks. Monday will be continuation of Martinez, then more jury questions. Then Wilmott will get another crack at Doc. After that, the "abuse expert" Alyce LaViolette. You know that is taking up Wed & Thurs, at least, especially since Thursday is a half-day.

We'll be lucky if we get to the prosecution's rebuttal by the following Tuesday (the 2nd of April). I'm sure that (with cross and juror questions) is going to take 2 weeks, if not longer. We'll be lucky to see an end to this case before April is out, imo.

God, I hope so. There has been a lot of misconduct in that courtroom. I do feel for that Judge...I think she is trying to do her best, but someone (guards and security?) is not doing their job very well.

Exactly! Her problem is she just isn't as smart as she thinks she is! She thought deleting photos would get rid of them forever, and just in case she tossed it in the wash. She tried to wipe blood off of things, but that didn't work. Not exactly the easiest thing to clean up. And of course she washed his body off in the shower.

I think that getting him to pose for those pics took longer than she anticipated and it just kept getting later and later and she new someone would be home eventually. I'm guessing the murder itself took longer than she thought it would and was FAR messier than she thought it would be.

My personal guess is that was what she was doing with playing the notebook under her butt the other day. I speculated she was using it to pass notes to someone on her defense team who would then pass it to family/friend.

Saw one of the talking heads on HLN After Dark saying that it didn't make sense for Jodi to bring the knife if she already had the gun. Well, Jodi claims she never fired a gun. If she wasn't familiar, especially with using/firing, re-loading, or what happened if it jammed (something 25's are apparently prone to do); much less what kind of damage could be done with such a small gun, of course she would have a back-up.

I didn't catch much, but I hope one of their HLN "jury" brought up the fact that when Jodi was apprehended, she was attempting to flee her grandma's house with a gun and 2 KNIVES in her suitcase.

It seems like if her mother was involved they should ban her ass. I have been absolutely flabbergasted by her mother's total lack of respect for these proceedings. And I do know if it was said jokingly or actually happened but who the hell eats sunflowers and spits the shells on the floor in a court room. I hope that was a joke.

i'm getting this strange dystopian feeling today, with the jury box game show and the everyone spending hours soaking in the gory details of a strangers murder. and the blogging and the tweets.

i want to say 'here's where i get off the train,' but i know that's not true. it's just really creeping me out right now.

now, i'm not saying jodi isn't the anti-christ.

I would imagine Stabby's mother will not get banned because it could be considered potentially prejudicial to Stabby and could result in an appealable error.

However, Mama Stabby IS a disgrace, and I do wish something would happen to wipe all those smiles off her face.

I know exactly what you mean Animosity. I actually get bad dreams from this grisly murder trial which is pretty fucked up considering I don't have a dog in the fight. It's such a dark and disturbing place.

This stuff CAN pull a person into a very bad head space, easily. I think it's about knowing yourself, and knowing when to step back and take that much-needed break. XO

    They didn't bring that up.

I notice a pattern on HLN After Dark, and I think that the prosecution really needs to take note of this: one of the things people get mired on is that they treat Jodi's story as if it might actually be true.

It is imperative for Juan Martinez to remind everyone that Jodi is not just a liar. She is a liar who tries to make her stories fit the evidence as it's presented. The gun, the knife, the rope....these are all things she has used to try to distract you from the truth. And the truth is that she brought the knife. She brought the gun. She put Travis in a vulnerable position, and then she killed him. Look at her lies, and see how she has nothing but junk science and her own word, which we know is worth nothing, to back up what she has said.

I have a great deal of faith in Juan Martinez, but I also know that great manipulators like Jodi are very good at distracting people from the truth. Look at her poor supporters on the JAII site. They are so enamored by her that they will ignore he most basic of logic in order to say she isn't guilty.

Juan had to tear her story apart, piece by piece, to show how stupid it was. In his rebuttal, I hope he gives the jury a full picture of what happened that day.

The only thing that really concerns me at the moment is the gun. While it's plausible that he was shot first (I don't know if this wasn't a mistake on the part of the state to insist on the order of the wounds so much), I don't think that's the case at all.

But here's a question for everyone: Do you think Jodi did bring a knife? Or do you think it's possible that when she arrived at Travis's, that she simply took a knife from his own home? It wouldn't have been hard for her to wait for Travis to get into the shower, tell him she's getting his camera, and to go downstairs to grab a knife.

I believe she totally intended to kill him, but I am thinking that she was attempting to be clever by using a weapon from his own home. A final "fuck you" to him as she's killing him with his own knife, perhaps?

I'm willing to bet that a guilty verdict and facing the DP will wipe those blasted smiles right off their faces. I agree....their behavior is disrespectful to everyone in that courtroom. Life is just one big joke to them, it seems. My son had his wisdom teeth removed, recently.....and I was beside myself with worry and empathy for him. He came through it just fine, but I don't get how they can smile when she is on trial for her very life. I can't fathom that kind of detachment.

I can't imagine how the jury feels at night. We are all amped up bouncing thoughts off each other. These poor people have to stew on it until deliberations. I bet when their question is read, they get excited and feel like It's their turn for their voice to be heard.

I freaked out this morning when I herd the first few questions. Imagine what the jurors who think she's guilty as hell were feeling. Then it started to turn, the questions ended up being well thought out and sometimes sassy with a bunch of. " we think your a crock of shit"

I still can't get over the behavior of people and officers of the court. I know I sound like a broken record, but I work in the legal field and a courtroom is sacred. You don't disrespect it. And the judge is supposed to keep it running without a hitch.
I think the court officials need to crack down. It's disgusting to watch.

This site really rocks. I'm so excited to be able to converse with such brilliant minded folks. You guys are hella cool!!! ( a majority of you that is) LOL

    Jodi's diary from jail!

    Entry #24

    March 21, 2013

    Dear Diary,

First off...I wonder if the juror notices how small and weak and innocent I look sitting in a chair that is lowered a good 5 inches. I bet they are completely fooled by it. People are so dumb. I keep trying to think of other things I can do that will gain me more sympathy with the jury. My best idea involves pretending that I am pregnant. I mean think about it...no jury is going to sentence a baby to death row. So, I will just pretend to be pregnant and after they jury acquits me I will pull out a big wad of toilet paper that is supposed to be my baby and say, "gotcha, suckers!" It would be so hilarious. Nurmi and Jennifer are not on board yet, but if Doctor Dildo keeps screwing up like he did today, they may change their mind.

Speaking of Doctor Dildo...I cannot believe he is actually trying to get anyone to believe that I ever had low self esteem. We all know everyone has seen my rocking body...ALL of my rocking body. No one would believe that someone who has unique features like I have could possibly have low self esteem. Puh-leeze. I also get a little pissed when he says I am not assertive. Hmmm, maybe I will just flip you off! How do you like that? Is that 'assertive' enough for you?

Speaking of people I want dead...I wish every single person on Travis' side of the court room would be swallowed in a big crater the size of my booty hole! I can't stand them sitting over acting all sad and trying to steal attention away from me. And seriously, what is up with those ribbons they keep wearing? I cannot believe they are trying to make this trial about Travis. Shame on them. I complained and they had to remove most of them. I guess his family is still wearing them. I'll just keep complaining until I get my way. We will see who is 'assertive' then.

Nurmi and Jennifer are lucky they have me for a client. I am really teaching them a lot about trials and about the law. I am constantly taking notes. I am so helpful. I always share my valuable insight with them. I know they are thanking their lucky stars they have such a brilliant client.

Oh, did I mention the connection I have with one of the jurors. It is freaking amazing. We are connecting in ways I never even knew were possible. I guess you could call it 'telepathic sex'. The things we do together would make even me blush if I had to repeat them. I just know this juror is on my side. I'm sure many others are too. But, if nothing else, I have my 'one', and that is all that matters. So, suck on that Fartinez!

If I find out who the smart ass is on the jury, I will kill them. No, really. I will absolutely commit murder again. Asking if someone can get global transient amnesia because of a 'bad haircut'??? I just know that question was referring to my bangs. Oh, how I HATE these bangs. I cannot believe I let Jennifer convince me that getting bangs like hers would be a good idea. I mean, seriously!! Have you seen her hair? I actually took advice from someone who has hair that looks like that? What was I thinking? If there is one thing I regret in my life it has got to be the bangs. I can live with and be proud of everything else I have ever done, but not this hair cut. I felt humiliated when the juror asked that question. No worry. I will get my revenge someday.

Well, I feel like I have been a tiny bit negative in this diary entry. That makes me sad face. I will try to think of something positive to write, in keeping with the Law of Attraction. Oh! My boobs looked so good today! I could feel all eyes in the courtroom on them today! I just love my boobs. Best $300 I ever spent! Another positive thing is that I was wearing my second favorite color today: red! It is such a fun and vibrant and lively color. It reminds me of some of the most memorable times in my life. It's basically a very happy color for me. My first favorite color is brown. For obvious reasons.

Well, I better go now. I can't wait to tell all the girls about everything that happened in court today. They just love hearing me talk. I love hearing me talk!! I can't help it. My voice is just so lovely.

    Till next time,
    Jodi

I think Mama Arias is counting dollar signs and loving every minute of it. It's small wonder that she spawned such a monster. It's sickening to watch.
