They have mounds of physical evidence against Jodi, though. Casey's case was all circumstantial. And Casey didn't admit to killing Caylee.
I don't see an aquittal in any way. Even Donovan said on 48 Hours that those close to her knew she was going to do SOME prison time...
I shouldn't really say Casey's case was circumstantial... that's not completely accurate. But all of the evidence could only be tied to the family in some way, not specifically Casey.
It didn't help when her mom was on the witness stand and said "I looked up chloroform"...
And you are so, SO right. It really makes one put life into perspective. That is why I said, recently, that it struck me when the camera panned from her laughing relatives....over to Jodi, who was staring off in the direction of the sidebar. And I thought how miserable all of their lives must be, to have turned out that they all seem so oblivious to what is going on, around them. Not only oblivious, but none seems to really give a flying f**k about anyone but themselves. No matter how this turns out, life that Jodi knew it is over. Life as the Alexander and the Arias families knew it are over. And, I agree with you....Travis was an amazingly bright soul. On earth, and in the great beyond. Jodi and her antics can never outshine the grace and love that the Alexanders possess. And she never will.

My juror question for the professionals in this forum lurking about...If you were the Dr. testifying for the defense..and you found that your initial report was based on total fabrication, would you???A) Reevaluate the subject, B) Redo the tests given to the subject for comparison (or just for shits and giggles cuz you get paid by the hour) C) Completely redo or amend your initial report and diagnosis to reflect the new information that you have received regarding the subject. I know that professionals don't like to hate on other professionals, but what is your overall opinion on the presentation submitted by Dr. Douche?
Ugh, isn't that the truth? She lied through her teeth... I feel bad for George, but the rest of the family is nuts.
And the way Jodi's mom and aunt act in court, I think THEY'RE nuts, too.
I mean, if my daughter were on trial facing the death penalty, I don't think there's anything you could say to me in that courtroom that would make me laugh. That's just absolutely bizarre...
Hey everybody - I'm new here. One of the camera pics has been driving me nuts, so I wondered if any of you have theories on it. It's the 2nd 'dragging' picture (not the one where you can see her foot). I looked thru about 300 pages of this thread, then decided it would be easier to just ask. ;)

I understand this is likely TA's body, but I'm not sure exactly what the orientation of his body is in it. This must be in the hallway. What's in the upper left corner of the pic? Is that the flip flops that are on the floor of the bedroom?
Also, how do you think this picture got taken? To me, it doesn't look like the camera is on the floor. If JA is holding the camera, how could she be dragging the body too? Maybe could it be a pic of TA falling? Just trying to understand how this happened. I doubt she had a helper at the scene.
(Looking forward to JM shredding the doc's testimony next week...but would also be just as happy to never see the doc ever again. So irritating!)

Scott Peterson was convicted and sentenced to die, for the murder of his wife and unborn child. There was plenty of evidence to prove that he was a cad and an asshole, but actual evidence of murder was pretty much all circumstantial and based on his behavior before and after the murder. And Casey....while they could not determine an exact cause of death, that baby didn't bury herself in the woods, plastic bag and all. And Casey was out partying her ass off, living la vida, while she knew her child was dead? And she walked. So, I won't ever call another case until I hear the judge or foreman read the verdict. But, God, I can pray!

This is the second time I've responded to my own post, but because I was asked, here it is. (In my words).
Circumstantial evidence, as opposed to direct evidence, is essentially observed circumstances from which a logical and valid conclusion can be drawn based on those observed circumstances. For example, one winter evening, just before you go to bed at night, you look out the window and see that the streets are clean.
You wake up in the morning, look out the window and see that the ground is covered with a light dusting of snow. From the observed 'circumstance' you can speculate/consider the following.
a) Someone passed by in the night with a truck full of snow and sprinkled the streets with snow
b) If you believe in snow fairies, it could have been that they passed by and covered the ground in snow.
c) It snowed during the night.
d) If you had never seen snow before, you can't figure out what happened during the night to cover the ground with all that white stuff.
Of course, the correct answer is (c). The snow on the ground is evidence, (proof) that it snowed during the night and that conclusion, based on your observations in the morning, is just as valid as it would be if you had sat up during the night looking out the window and watched the snow fall.
The same applies to the "meteor" example the Dr. used. You didn't see the meteor collide with the ground but the evidence, (the crater it created) left behind is valid circumstantial evidence, (proof) that a meteor landed at that spot at some time before you observed the crater.
That's kind of awkwardly written. Hope it makes the point.

What a snoozer the defense team has been with their own star witness. Does anyone know how many more witnesses after this Dr?
I'm with you... but ya know, while I fully believe Scott Peterson is guilty as sin, I said many times that I would NOT want to be on that jury because by legal definition of "reasonable doubt", I don't think I could have found him guilty.
I'm glad I wasn't put in a position to do that.
I would, however, find Jodi guilty. In my opinion, the gas cans (which WERE used to get her through Arizona and refilled in SLC), turning off her cell phone, changing her hair color, specifically asking for a non-flashy rental car... too many things point to a plan. I don't think there is reasonable doubt...
But--I'm not on the jury...
I just watched the end of today's testimony, and I do believe this is EXACTLY what Juan will be telling us on Monday!
I missed most of today so forgive me if this was addressed. But is Dr Dick off the stand now? Or are there more juror questions?? I hope not
