Prior to the trial, I didn't think it was premeditated. Now, having heard the evidence of the stolen gun, the gas cans, how she tried to hide the fact that she went through Arizona (even if she was trying to hide it from friends, she would not be concerned about receipts or being caught on camera at gas stations or her cell phone pinging off of towers), I think it was premeditated to some degree. I think she wanted to give him a chance, but in her mind he blew it, so she went to plan B, which was to kill him. I don't think there is any other explanation for why she wanted to hide the fact (from authorities) that she went through Arizona.

Wonderfully outlined circumstantial evidence! Circumstantial evidence can be very powerful, especially combined with cold, hard actual evidence, which is the foundation of this case! Put that together with Hodi's actual testimony on the stand being called into serious question (literally) by the Jury. . . .well!. . . Who knows?

What is with the Arizona court house and pills? Jodi is trying to be Michael Marin.

Is it because Wilmott's going to a funeral?

Okay, there is something that has stuck in my mind since yesterday...
On one of the PTSD tests, Jodi checked 'yes' to the question 'have your symptoms interfered with your sex life.'
    Her SEX LIFE...IN JAIL...*gag*

Then, if that wasn't bad enough, this image popped into my head:

    JUST KILL ME NOW. PLEASE.

Unfortunately, JM never went back to those texts. Nor have we heard or seen the supposed Facebook message he sent her. We really haven't even heard more about the stalking claims, or doggy door, nor any testimony from people who knew more about her obsessive behavior. I know it's out there. IMO, more needs to be done to show motive. Hopefully that's coming in rebuttal and closing arguments. Sometimes jurors need it all spelled out for them...that's where I'm coming from. Although we see it, I want them to see it too. The couple people on here who are questioning things make me really nervous.

Everyone knows that Travis was not a violent person....was not the manipulative abuser that Jodi is attempting to portray him as. There has got to be a reason why those messages were not introduced as evidence by either side. For JM, he wants to stay as far away from those as possible, because he doesn't want the jury to take these messages out of context and view them as support of what Jodi is claiming. Because it isn't true.
Stalking brought up by Mimi Hall 1:54 and then at about 2:30 on cross and 2:34 on re-direct - talking about tire slashing, following on dates, doggy door, reading emails

Also on the day that Lisa Andrews testified, a juror question was "did you ever refer to Jodi Arias as a stalker?" Her answer was "Yes"

Seriously, ASPD scares the crap out of my. Why? Because, although I probably shouldn't, I call it the "serial killer disorder." Pretty much every serial killer I have read about has been diagnosed with that. Plus, the aspects of that disorder are just crazy to me - especially the complete disregard for others and their feelings, space, well-being or harm. Just makes me SO sad and...well...its kinda terrifying.

You know, I am always shocked by this. But then I remember that even every serial killer I have read about, regardless of how awful they are and how much evidence there is, they have their "fans." Heck, they've all had admirers. Women were fighting over Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, John Wayne Gacy...etc. To us that are normal, that is ludicrous. But for some reason, those people are out there. I will never, ever understand it. Heck, several of those killers even got married while incarcerated!! I know Ramirez and Bundy did. It's just astounding to me that people are like that... But the Jodi supporters are in the same ballpark as those others' - they blindly support someone that the rest of us would flee from...and they support them even after seeing gruesome evidence of their crime. So wrong!

Makes me even more sickened by her. Wow. I wouldn't lie about something like that even if the person were my worst enemy. Are you kidding me?!?! Yep, she definitely deserves the death penalty (and worse if that were possible). How horrible.

I broke my right ring finger while playing dodgeball in junior high. I remember it being splinted and I always looked like I was doing the Star Trek sign, lol. It takes a while to heal and it is a B**** while broken. You don’t realize how you use your hands for EVERYTHING. I write with my right hand, and I was still mostly able to maneuver the pen, but it was difficult, especially with the big splint. Can’t remember how long I had that on there – at least 3 weeks. I believe bones generally take around 6 weeks to heal, but the finger is a small bone and I don’t remember having the splint/bandaging on there for that long.

Exactly. I think there are just way WAY too many factors to explain away. If there were one or two then it would be questionable, especially with Jodi denying it, but when you're getting to the realm of 10+ signs of premeditation...that's kind of hard to just brush aside.

They know their opponent and they are toying with him - don't think so? How about making him prepare all weekend for an issue they dropped. Nurmi/Wilmott look bad because their client is a nightmare, but they will save her life. Unfortunately, Martinez seems to be helping...
My first thought when I read that snipped paragraph above was the infamous Cochran/Darden showdown in the OJ trial.

Cochran knew Darden was a hothead and later admitted he knew precisely how to push his buttons and set him off, which is the exact strategy he used with the Great Glove Debacle. If Wilmott and Nurmi are engaging in a similar strategy with Martinez, I wouldn't be at all surprised since it has a successful track record.

Between JM almost constant yelling and that godawful static fuckery that ensues with every (and they are NUMEROUS) freaking side bar, if I were in that courtroom, there wouldn't be enough opiates in the county to relieve my headache. If I were on that jury, I'd crawl into bed every night after I had a bellyful of martinis and Vicodin. Ugh.

I personally find JM to be at his best when he refrains from yelling at the witness and engages in more of a give-and-take dialogue, asking questions, getting his answers and moving on. Louder doesn't always equate to better.

I'm sure a lot of people admire his zeal and I do appreciate his obvious passion for the cases he tries. I just cannot fathom being on that jury and listening to that yelling for hours on end.

I also agree that I hope he ties up a lot of these loose ends he's brought up and left just hanging out there with no real explanation. I'm inclined to think he's going to have an EXTREMELY powerful closing statement but time will tell.

She and Travis decided it wouldn?t look right (she was Mormon too), so she rented an apartment and moved out of the house she shared with her husband two weeks before Travis? murder. When Travis was murdered, she thought her husband wasn?t acting right at that time. A few weeks later, in a follow up police interview, she admitted that she was the anonymous caller (although the police already knew that), but that she didn?t think her husband had anything to do with it anymore. Well, I read that she died in 2010. After she divorced Dustin, she changed her name back to her maiden name, Ashley Nicole Reed. She was only 28. Her obituary is on EastValleyTribune.com. There wasn?t anything in the obit or in the Mesa news sites that hinted at how she died.

I?m not saying that Jodi didn?t kill Travis. I just thought it was interesting and I should share it.

Being in the house was considered burglary.

English criminal law: the crime of either entering a building as a trespasser with the intention of committing theft, rape, grievous bodily harm, or damage, or, having entered as a trespasser, of committing one or more of these offences

It's a bit of a stretch, I agree, but it makes sense what he is doing. The gun exists (the bullet in Travis's skull proves that), it is just gone. Whether she stole it after she murdered him, or whether she brought it with her, she is screwed. Even if you were to grant her lunatic story about Travis having a Sooper Secrud Gun any credence, the rest of her story about the attack makes no sense. She came to the house with the intent to do some sort of harm to Travis.

I'm not saying Jodi didn't plan her murder, b/c I believe she hated Travis, and I believe she planned the murder b/c she wanted him dead.

We "maybe" know way more information than the jury does. Of course most of us know or suspect she planned the murder. What may seem like a closed case to you, may feel much different to somebody that is sitting there with limited or controlled information.
I don't understand what the floormats have to do with premeditation. Or the stains in the car. Those go towards showing her attempts to cover up the crime.

My point was that, and forgive me for being too lazy to look up my own post #s, was that if you put together every piece of evidence, it is not so easily explained away when you put them together like a puzzle.

I could easily say that Jodi is too stupid to work a gas pump properly, but that doesn't make sense in the long-run. The only thing you could dismiss as pure coincidence was the hair color. I'll list it again:

    1. The text message Travis sent. This was probably the final nail in his coffin.
    2. Two days later, her grandparents' gun is stolen. Oddly, it is the same caliber used in the murder.
    3. Jodi plans to go out of town. This may or may not have already been in the books, but it does offer her the perfect chance to go to AZ.
    4. She has someone drive her 90 miles in order to rent a car.
    5. The first car she declines because it's 'too obvious'. She has a moderately reasonable explanation for this.
    6. She drive down CA to visit people.
    7. She borrows two gas cans.
    8. She buys a third gas can. (She supposedly returns it, but the store has no record of such a return. Surprise!)
    9. She does not tell anyone she plans to visit Travis.
    10. Her cell phone magically stops working when she gets close to AZ.
    11. She also magically does not have to make any stops anywhere that might have cameras to record her in AZ.
    12. There are no receipts from AZ.
    13. She arrives at Travis's early, early in the morning.
    (14. Done last because it is the hardest to prove. Her hair color. In May it was blonde-ish. The day of the murder, it's brown. We don't know when she colored her hair.)

There are a lot of amazing coincidences that happened to Jodi. It's either the most remarkable case of unfortunate-looking circumstances for her ever, or this killing was premeditated.

I know that you say that you agree with me...so I'm curious to know what else you would need for it to have been premeditated? What will Juan need to do to make sure the jury gets this?

What has JA said about the tire slashing? Did she say why she did it, or did she deny it? What about that crazy email about whoredoms? Also, what did TA's threatening text to JA say? Thanks, guys.

My understanding is that there are several things sealed by the Judge because they would be prejudicial against Jodi. There was a hearing about releasing these after the trial, but Nurmi objected on the basis of the possibility of future appeals, etc. The judge postponed rendering a decision about a lengthier sealing of these records until after the conclusion of this trial.

To my knowledge, there is no proof that Jodi engaged in the tire slashing nor that she sent the "whoredoms" email. I would think the origin of the email would be simple enough to prove via IP address tracing but, who knows, maybe whoever sent it knew about hidemyass.com.

Travis' text to Jodi that contained the threat was the same text where he told her that her post to a male friend on FB or MS made her look like a "pure whore" and that the person she had posted it to wouldn't spit on her if he knew what Jodi was "really like," and also threatened to tell her friends, family, and anyone else important to her about her psychotic behaviors or something along those lines.

I think their relationship went from lust to purely toxic in record time but neither could break away from the other. They were both threatening each other towards the end (I believe Jodi's threats were all verbal, according to her own testimony on the stand) but Travis' threats are in at least that 1 text.

    Hope that helps, Artemis.

I don't believe Jodi was ever questioned about the tire slashing or stalking, because there was no evidence to back it up. I could be wrong, but I don't think that line of questioning was allowed.

I'm not sure about the e-mail. I know that she did send one where she told him she was tired of being treated a certain way, and so forth, but I don't know that it mentioned whoredoms.

And finally, the text message from Travis called her a sociopath. He said she was the worst thing ever (to happen to his life?), and that she was scamming him. He was tired of her lies, and he was going to let everyone know how horrible she was. Obviously, I'm paraphrasing. I'm sure someone has a screencap. :-D

Who is the real Jodi Arias? Is there a real Jodi Arias?

After months of talking about her life, all we have are layers of lies and bullshit... trained professionals who are paid to study her and represent her have no fucking idea what she is really about.

The more I learn about her, the less I understand about her. I wonder if I am becoming hypnotized just like Dr. Paycheck. Just speculatin'... I get paid for it you know.

He's certainly intelligent and experienced enough to do just that.

No people, how about Katie admires Juan and maybe even has a teeny tiny crush on him and wants a photo. What the hell does it have to do with victory? They are just nutso. Now they have created at Meme from it. Ahhhh. I must shower away the dirty funk I feel from there.

    Laters baby.
Lucky girl. I mean, can you blame her? I would TOTALLY want a pic with him, too! I <3 me some Mr. Martinez!

Really? Wow. What a bunch of disgusting freaks!
I'd post something back to them but they probably don't allow non JAII people on there plus I don't know that I want to get sucked into, their garbage...
Are those people for real? That's disgusting!
Ya know what would make the world a better place? Get rid of the murdering, waste of breath sycophant that killed him.

Obviously Travis wasn't a perfect person, and really no one is, but to say something like that is just cold hearted. I mean, if it really came down to it, the question of which of the two the planet is better off without isn't even really a question at all.

Give it a couple hours until court starts, then you'll be able to blink and miss pages at a time =)

You can buy a doctorate in biopsychology? Where?

I am going to say this again, dr. Samuels has impeccable credentials. Not only does he have a doctorate, he has post doc fellowships. He has diplomats status in two or three sub specialty areas. Yeah, he has been sloppy. Yeah, he is sided with the defense. The problem here is JA and her level of deception. She has a way of seducing good people into helping her. As I said about thirty pages ago, he is in over his head. Murder and deception isn't his forte.

It has probably been said before, but Wilmott's objections are always so whiny. like a little kid not getting her way. Juan gets annoyed with her objections because they are not stated clearly. In other words she doesn't seem very seasoned like JM is. It is funny to watch.

The ownage that happened with the doctor is just awesome.
