Yeah. My soon to be ex husband was dead set on the black, so I already have the color, but I never did it because I thought I would look too goth. But I have blue eyes so he thought it would look good. I was like " you know I'm not going to magically transform into Megan fox just because I have blue eyes and black hair, right" I've gotta do something though. With my foot being broken I haven't done much with myself and I'm starting to feel very blah and self conscious. And now that I'm " back on th market" I guess it's time to hot it up.

I agree, black is too much. Go dark brown. If you're feeling confident with the brown, you can always do black later on. Black is hard to undo though.

i love pale with dark... unfortunately - it's as hard to upkeep as red. my hair is light and so every time i go black, before 2 weeks is up, it starts to look like i'm going bald with the light showing through. it's similar with dark browns.

I'm a natural blonde & I dyed my hair black on a OMGIneedAchange whim 7 years ago and I love it. I went back to blonde once (because the man had never seen me blonde) but that didn't last too long cause everybody was commenting on how they liked the black better.

    here is me now

I had to go back through myspace pics to find one of me blonde, but this was obviously before I knew anything about doing eyebrows

I can be your *ADDICTION* if you wanna get hooked on something!!

I'm a natural blonde too, but I've been red since 16. The dark looks really good on you. You pull it off well. Cute pics

the dark does look good on you, nc!

jessielee, if you are scared of going too dark, go back a few shades, particularly since your hair is light(er). start with like, a lighter or medium brown vs a dark. i have dark hair and was trying to keep it a similar shade but more chocolate-y and somehow it ended up coming out a soft black anyway. i was so bummed. fucking box dye. ha. it's been a long time since i've colored my hair though, so i'm no expert. i went from red to black and recall that it took a few dye attempts before you couldn't see the red.

I havent colored in a a while so its really light right now and my roots are like a foot long. Luckily, since Ive been dyeing it for so long, the color of the roots arent that much different and you can barely notice unless someone takes a pic with a flash. I look in the mirror every day and hardly notice. I looked at my DL photo and was like "damn."

I saw an old pic of me where I had blonde hair and wondered why I ever dyed it. I hated it because it was blonde, but I had natural brown and red highlights. I hated that it was 3 different colors and I think I thought I resembled my dad, who I never met but his sister sends me pics every so often, I guess just to piss me off.
Here it is, If you can see it, its from someone elses page, so you might not.

HALP! I need some decent shampoo and conditioner suggestions. I think pregnancy is wrecking havoc on my hair and it's so fluffy and gross. Even with about a cup of moroccan oil, it looks like a cotton wool ball. I want something good for defrizz.

I have punker's shampoo bar and may try that again soon but looking for other suggestions.

The L'Oreal EverCreme Intense Nourishing shampoo and conditioner worked well for me. They have one called EverSleek too that might work well for you (I haven't tried that one).

i've never used a dry shampoo, but since i'll be traveling to a third world country where hot showers are not promised i'm thinking i should try one.

should i make my own? or does anyone have any recommendations? since i don't use normal shampoo and conditioner i'm not really sure how this is going to work while i travel.

Big sexy hair's isn't bad. I don't like dry shampoo at all, but it pisses me off less.

emmie - if you are in a pinch, baby powder is good for oily/dirty hair if you can't wash it. And it means you don't have to take an aerosol can on a plane. I know they are usually fine in checked luggage, but when I was in mexico, they searched ALL luggage and took it away from me.

And take a ton of baby wipes with you. They really help if you can't get to a shower and help you to feel fresh.

I've done a ton of 'dirty' travel so let me know if you need any other tips.

Make sure you take some little sachets of washing powder so you can handwash underwear etc.

oh! i forgot to mention the other day about oily skin and makeup... i've found that keeping a couple of toilet seat protectors with me at all times helps with reducing oil and shine without screwing your makeup. just keep it folded up in your wallet and tear off a piece then press it against your skin to remove the oil. works great and it's less expensive (free) compared to the store bought boxes.

i've also heard of this from my sister - milk of magnesia as an oily skin fix/primer. has anyone had any experience with this? i haven't tried either MoM or monistat, but i'm thinking about trying it out.

I second the milk of mag and the baby powder! I do beauty tutorials on YouTube and I did a milk of mag in one of my tutorials. It works like a charm! AND the monistat chaffing gel has the same ingredients as Smashbox for a primer. I use that too! I love anything beauty related..... sigh....
