With all her pre-planning efforts, I think she thought if she killed him in the shower, she could just wash all the evidence away down the drain. And, if you think about it, it might have worked. All the evidence they found was due to the ?mess? the struggle made ? the bloody palm print on the wall, the bullet casing, the hair, her blood. If he had died in that stall, the cleanup would have been minimal and easy. There wouldn?t have been blood all over ? only washed down the drain. She could have taken the camera or its memory card with her. She would have left no hard evidence that she had been there. Her story would have still looked suspect (the many hours unaccounted for) but it would have been hard to prove.
Things got out of hand for her. He fought back like she never expected. I think that is part of the reason for how gruesome the crime was ? I think she was panicked and furiously that it didn?t go as planned and she was doing all she could to take him down. Again, that adrenaline factor can keep people moving long after they should be dead. I think she was furious with him for fighting back just like she was furious at him for every other way that she felt he had wronged her.
Poor Travis. But I am SO glad he fought back so that there was plenty of evidence to show her crime!
