So, if we were to sum up the Dr's testimony in a short concise statement, we could say that Jodi gave herself PTSD because she's a heinous criminal?

"Murder suspect Jodi Arias has already changed her story twice when it comes to how Travis Alexander died on June 4, 2008, and now her close friend is claiming the brutal killing was a Mormon ?blood atonement plot.?

Isn't that what that man "I am scientist" was saying?
Hey Nurmi, you big hot teddybear, do you remember that time when you were asking me all kinds of probing questions about dirty sex? We were like talking about anal and jizz right in front of my mom and the bishop! Just like you wanted! Do you remember how we were on tv and everyone on the internet was talking about my vag and you kept calling me a three hole wonder? And I was like I can't masturabate right now because I have to use two hands to make it all the way to the Ozone? You're the first man to make me cum for real, I'm not lying at all, I think about you every night in my cell when I do the two-handed jailhouse cookie rub and it's just like eating Cinnabon in heaven with Brigham Young.
Yep. Have you seen Hitler's watercolors? It fucks with my head trying to reconcile artistic talent with the capacity for evil:
Right? I would a have single giant eyebrow. Not gonna lie though, I hate the fact that her hair curtain is all nice and smooth and I have these bitch-ass flyaways.
I don't interpret that as an offer to bend the rules of psychology to a client's case. He's saying that --in general / regardless of whether a client is innocent or guilty -- a report from an expert is more effective and efficient than having a non-expert address every single psychological aspect of the client.
Then again, he does appear to have some ethical violations on his record, so whoops
Like others have said, subjectivity is a problem. I think experts can testify without actually having faith in the client's guilt or innocence, but it requires them to separate professional experience from personal beliefs. From a professional standpoint, this guy has to evaluate Jodi based solely on the evidence and accounts brought to him by the defense -- and he has to do so with the assumption that this information is the truth: innocent until proven guilty. He doesn't have to look at bullet trajectory or closets or blood splatter. It's opinion, but there's still a difference between a personal opinion and a professional opinion.
I wonder if it would be considered hearsay? Not that the defense hasn't been beating us over the head with the hearsay bat, but still. I would have done the same thing as you did, though, and I'm glad that it gave you a bit of peace.
Yep.
Pffft, no. Pro-Jodi or Pro-Travis, we're all just gawkers. The only people who are taking a beating are those directly involved in the case, and they take beatings regardless of which side they support and will continue to be beaten by it for the rest of their lives. It's sad.
After watching his testimony today that the main purpose of this witness is to explain why it was reasonable for Stabby to:
1) Be in a fog and not remember most of the details of the murder
2) Act normal around other people within hours of the murder
3) Lie about what she did afterwards by making up a couple different stories
I have enough faith in this jury to think that they are not going to fall for this obvious and extremely convenient (for Stabby) bullshit.
Whether she lied to the psychologist or not isn't necessarily relevant. He basically implied that the abuse excuse/self-defense claim came from himself and Mr. Nurmi. They decided that Jodi must've been suffering from PTSD, without the psychologist interviewing her beforehand, and pulled this 3rd claim out of the air. Obviously they crafted their case to try and make it fit self-defense with a side order of PTSD.
Martinez could certainly bring up the "I lied to everyone" statement and question the doctor about it. But, he'd probably be more likely to bring up the doc saying that the newest defense was basically his and Nurmi's idea, and not something Jodi actually claimed, until she saw the psychologist.
"Well, it's YOUR fog..." - J. Martinez
Then the next expert witness will come on and explain why it was reasonable for Stabby to slaughter Travis with extreme overkill.
And the final result is that Stabby should be excused (in their expert opinions), from all responsibility for slaughtering Travis, then having a fog, then covering it up, then lying about it.
But the jurors are not morons, and I don't think they are going to buy it.
The first test, he said Jodi filled out herself, did she have a chance to take it back to her cell and go over with her roomies?
My second question for this guy:
Some of the criteria you check off for Jodi's PTSD, are they also the criteria for other disorders?
Where is ImBatman when we need him? Please be nice when he comes back.
"Jodi Arias' death penalty trial has concluded for the week after a defense witness said she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder."

Would the autopsy of TAs brain show any abnormalities related to the amount of stress he must have experience?
Biggie is a Jodi supported. He/she thinks the prosecution (and those of us who want justice) took a beating because the defense witness (a psychologist) was trying to claim Jodi suffered from PTSD after she murdered Travis and so that explains why she was acting normal, repressing memories, etc.
He basically shot himself in the foot though when he said he went into the meeting with Jodi assuming she was suffering from PTSD and it was basically his suggestion, rather than coming from Jodi.
He also spouted a lot of nonsense in trying to explain her fog and how she could drive and do things, even though she was supposedly in this fog. He was trying to say that Jodi met the criteria and acted like someone with PTSD; then he compared her to soldiers and police officers who have to kill someone, or someone who had killed someone in a hunting accident, and how they could repress memories. How he remotely thought that an accidental shooting or a shooting in the line of duty compared to someone who intentionally butchered another person, I don't know.
Cross-examination of this witness should be good.
"Well, it's YOUR fog..." - J. Martinez
Yup.
I bet Martinez questions how thoroughly Dr Samuels read the journals. She didn't have one negative word? Huh? I can think of plenty. Suicide is a positive thought, is it?
I am sick of listening to commentators whom know less about the trial than people on this forum. Samuels hasn't done his homework. I have nothing against him but criminals have been faking memory and innocence for the longest time. As for the sleep disorder, check her journals. Sleeping all day in jail sure cuts the appetite for sleep at night. Clearly, he missed her vampire sleep phase.
If I was in jail, I would be hyper-vigilant too. And it would have nothing to do with PTSD.
