I've heard two. And one is the DV expert. Not sure on the other one...another 'expert' tho.

Her domestic violence expert Alice Laviolette and the forensic psychologist Richard Samuels. Matt McCartney was on her witness list but I highly doubt he'll appear. I think they also had one of her jail house inmates on the list as well.

Good morning everyone! While we're waiting for trial to start, there are two things bugging me this morning that I'd like to see JM clarify for the jury (actually me, hahaha).

    1. JA says the returned the gas (kerosene) can immediately after she bought it because it didn't fit her budget. BUT if you look at the receipt, she bought two face washes
($3.97 each) and two suncreens ($9.92 each). The gas/kerosene can was $12.96) So, why not just return the duplicate cleanser and sunscreen? Would have gotten her just about the same amount back. Makes no sense to make the budget argument in light of that.

    2. When JA first testified to the "FOG" is was solely in relation to her memory, not to her state of mind during the killing. She even made the distinction during direct that she did not believe the blacked out, she just had a foggy memory of the events. I believe she clarified that again during cross, that the fog relates to her ability to recall events, not to her being unable to control her actions during the murder. When she initially made those statements, I thought to myself that she was basically telling the jury that she believed she was in control of her actions and aware of what she was doing AT THE MOMENT OF THE KILLING, she just couldn't remember it. I would love to see JM ask her to clarify what EXACTLY she means when she talks about her "fog". I think it's been morphed during re-direct and jury questioning and I'd like to see it established that she was not "in a fog" while she killed him, it's just her memory of events that's foggy, because that's what I remember her original testimony being.

Nurmi is doing his job and his best. The Arias family is doing their duty. I agree that her mother should have been better coached in how to behave but reacting to lies, fake emotions and immature antics with sincerity is as impossible for her family to do as it is for the viewers to believe. Arias lack of remorse, emotion or distress for anyone but herself is frustrating to observe. She is robotic. The contrast between the flat, pseudo librarian dress and the Arias on 48 Hours is chilling.

Taking the photographs of the 'The Property Of Alexander' t-shirt and shorts after she killed him was a statement, her 'triumph'. In death, he was hers. That is why she uses the present tense when speaking of him. She continues to parade her 'prize'. His murder allowed her to describe a fantasy relationship - unchallenged by him. In her twisted mind, her name is forever associated with his; as firmly as any marriage certificate signatures could bind. Sure, the shorts and t-shirt pics were also part of building her defense. I imagine she thought of little else before her arrest. I have no doubt the murder was premeditated. She killed him to stop him taking Mimi to Cancun. I bet she would have killed more people if she hadn't been arrested. Her sick games are not finished yet.

To this day, the slightest thing can trigger a flashback....so strong is the image imprinted in my memory banks. I can tell you that you do NOT forget large chunks of time. I can still tell you what color of shirt he had on, how his feet were pointing downward. I can tell you that the brain does shut off, and go into self-preservation mode. For instance, I recall events beings almost eerily in slow motion as I realized what my eyes were actually seeing. My brain and eyes fought for a second, and the thought process was "Oh, HERE you are, Steve! No....wait.....something is.....not......right.............(this is where my brain spits out the computation of "he is too tall....why is he so tall..." Then shock sets in. In slow motion effect, I run up into the house, screeching.....and fumble with the phone to dial 911. Then I collapse into a shaking and traumatized mess. And I stay that way for a long long long time. The only fog or blurred spot I have, still, is that the rope and his neck area are just a blurry image in my mind. THAT is how it feels. It continued for months...that blessed fog. But it's not so thick that you don't know what is happening. Everything just seems.....slow. Maybe it's because truly traumatized people are simply focusing on figuring out how they can will their lungs to draw in the next breath. How they can stay upright and breathing for the next hour. Two hours. Three hours.
I am tired of the armchair "psychologists" who are buying her crap about the "fog"......
Stop trying to justify why Jodi did it. That detracts from the fact that she DID do it.
    Annie,
First I want to say I am sorry for what you went through. And, I think the circumstance is very different. You didn't kill anyone!
Second...I am a psychologist so....I am not buying anything she is selling. She admitted she did it yes! That is not the point at this time. It's to what degree she did it. I am simply pointing out that maybe some of the jurors might believe the fog story.

So that is probably why she bought the blue one. makes sense in my head.. kerosene or gas, who cares, it is blue.
    Hi Everyone!!
LOL! Before this trial, I had no idea it was "red for gas, blue for kerosene". Maybe jodi didn't know either. She just picked the pretty blue one. My idea of a gas can is the ones George Anthony had, the metal ones. Here in NJ it's illegal to pump our own gas!

The facebook link/screen shot was taken march 5th. So 16hrs prev was probably March 4th.

He's also the one, if I recall correctly, that Stabby told about TA supposedly perusing child porn on his computer only to change her story after NO PORN OF ANY KIND was found on his computer.

I agree with you....her "fog" conveniently blocks out the things that are most likely to convince the jury of the level of brutality of this crime. She is claiming to own experiences which are not hers to own....she hasn't fought the battle to EARN them. Victim of domestic violence, abused partner, abused child, victim of PTSD, etc. etc. What she CAN claim is that she is a cold-blooded murderer. That is the only "label" that she has earned and, in my opinion, is entitled to. Her "dx" is a joke. WTF cares? She did it, and she is still trying to blame it on everyone else, mostly the victim.
Sorry for the rant, but I've heard one too many times about Jodi's fog, and I felt the need to explain that it simply does not work that way. And the whole "repressed memory" thing, the way it's been portrayed in the media, has largely been debunked with many experts in the field doubting that it even exists.

Thank you for the name of the lady. I can never remember. She comes on the show only once in awhile...but, usually, when she does, she says something quite profound to help the millionaire/millionairess...or funny, whichever way you want to look at it.

I'd bet anything that she didn't park her car in the driveway until she brought it from around the bend in the street to load it up before she skedaddled out of there. If it had been parked in the driveway from the time of her arrival to the time of her leaving, Enrique the roommate would have noticed it when he left the house in the morning.

Look at her story about where she parked the UHaul Truck and dolly before she headed back to Yreka in April, 2008. She parked it around the bend further down the street. I bet that's where she parked the car. However, no proof--no premeditation on this point.

Her family seems like a screwy bunch. I wonder if they're hoping for a conviction. If she is convicted, you'll see them selling their story and being interviewed all over tv. If she's found not guilty, who would want to talk to them? The interview to get at that point would be Jodie herself. I bet they're seeing dollar signs with a conviction.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Ian 1 again.

Completely agree with this. Which just shows that much more premeditation....

    More from Richard Samuels:

Working closely with public defenders and private attorneys, he will determine the facts of the case and any special circumstances and mitigating factors involving the trial process. An extensive evaluation of the respondent, in depth case analysis and research contributes to a succinct report which often will result in a more favorable outcome for your client. His clear and strong testimony in support of the report can help to educate juries and judges.

No, I didn't kill anyone. But if I had, I would certainly remember, as I would be the one holding the knife and making it do what it is doing. Her story is hogwash. The human brain and memory banks simply don't operate that way. Unless her brain, itself, underwent a physical injury......her memory would slowly come back, crystal clear. Especially almost 5 yrs after the fact. Yet, she claims to have TOTAL block out of the entire knife and stabbing episode? A psychologist would know that.

I believe she planned her defense before she murdered Travis. She probably did a little research to see what got women off in the past, PTSD and battered women is was what she landed on. Jodi is a very calculating person, nothing she did was haphazard. She made mistakes, like losing the camera in the washing machine, but she pretty much stuck to her plan. Her coldness is coming thru loud and clear on the witness stand.

She made sure the car was not parked in the driveway. It shows to me that there was premeditation in not parking it where it could be easily seen. Even if the roommates didn't notice the license plate, they would have noticed it was a rental. She couldn't leave the car visable.
