I don't know. I don't know enough about the discovery rules in AZ. He had no way of knowing of what she would testify to under oath though and no way of knowing if she would stay wedded to her story of returning the gas can until recross.

If anyone needs a good laugh put on a full body condom and go dumpster diving at the JAII site. They are twisting themselves in knots trying to explain the 3rd gas purchase in SLC.

Now they are suggesting that she didn't lie about returning the 3rd GAS can because what she she actually purchased was a KEROSENE can.

The knots these folks twist themselves into is hilarious.

Looking back (to page 1447 ) and I don't even see what you're talking about, msmichie.

Yep. Some people take this shit WAY too personally.
Yesss, i agree w/Ron for once; this is like some dumb high school popularity contest; who gives a ff about who reps you or whatnot, this is cyberspace. I personally do not visit this thread to read people's work schedules, personal life or who they can spread the herps around for.

i get the impression most users here are over 30... shameful to act like little whining babies!!!

What is wrong with letting a noob know that tweets take effort to read through, you don't know it's fluff until you are halfway through. I wish peeps would limit it to pertinant or truly funny shit. Gotta have a thick skin here, for sure.

At least Ron, who i consider a semi-troll, keeps it brief. I try to read every page, lest i miss a nugget from harlette, berm, was, or justice, and a few others, about the case at hand. Its frustrating wading through the tweets and book length posts. I must hand it to Dimple B for cutting back on the posts. (i am ready for the fallout!)

I was focused on the gas purchases in SLC. He was not running any risk in confronting her with that out of the blue and he had the goods. As for the WalMart return, we all know that they have the most sophisticated inventory control system on the planet and the lie about the return of the can in Salinas would come out. Still she dissembled. I think Martinez set her up on that so he could spring the Tesoro transction on her. Filling up in SLC had never been brought up before. No?

Lol! That sounds like a Jodi argument for sure. "I never had three gas cans. I had two gas cans and one kerosene can that I put gas into."

If she had copped to the 3rd gas can no need to for the questions on the SLC gas purchases. Stabby set herself up by lying, JM is just pointing it out. Stabby is dissembling all over the place.

Court will be dark Monday and Tuesday, resuming on Wednesday, March 13.

Daylight Saving Time (United States) begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 10. Arizona does not observe daylight savings.

So next week, for the east coast, court will begin now at 1:30pm. Adjust your schedule for your time zone!

Update: Judge wants to start at 10am which now changes east coast to 1pm!

Thanks for reposting this! So in reality its only going to be 30 minutes later than it used to be for those not in AZ - assuming court starts on time. ()

i just listened to the testimony - martinez does say - would you be suprised if wal mart didn't have any returns" and for the 3rd transaction at tesero he just said if you take the amount and divide it by the cost of gas would equal 5 gallons - sneakers is right, he was just saying what could be's - i bet its the defense trying to get those records so they can remove that supposition from the jury, but i bet no one will get these records b4 the end of the trial, have gotten supbeonas like this at work and the have to give the business 30 or 60 days to retrieve them

Is investigative knowledge something that has to be shared in discovery? Or is it just the documented proof? Martinez had those bank statements with the Debit charge of $19.64 but he did not directly connect that transaction to the purchase of gasoline. All he did was some on-the-spot arithmetic showing that $19.64 divided by $3.859 per gal. = 5.09 gallons of gas. Now he's going to prove it with the vendor's copy of the transaction receipt. Maybe he just wanted to lay the trap for Jodi, which he did, and come up with the receipts from Tesoro and WalMart after she had an opportunity to screw herself up from the stand.

My game changing moment was that point in the trial. I posted about it earlier, so I won't repeat myself.

Ian, I read here all the time and post now and then. Most of my time is spent trying to catch up with all the pages at the end of the day. If I may ask, what was the game changer in the trial for you as it seems I must have missed that. I enjoy your posts and I probably missed the page that it was on. TIA

Suppose they couldn't cobble together the exact list of chips, sodas and sunflower seeds to total $19.64. and forgot the convenience store counter closed at 1 a.m. Perhaps they'll claim she dropped the hose and the 5.09 gals. was spillage and she was in such 'mortal terror' at the prospect of being immolated by a 'highly falammable substance' that her 'fog' overtook her once again and she fled the scene, shaking like a chihuahua with her brain frozen like a laptop. You can't put out a fire with a gun and a knife. What ingenuity! She may be done.

(I know how to spell 'flammable.' ( Hell, I can even spell naphtha). But this sounded so much like Jodi Arias, I decided to leave it in just the way I typo'd it).

So here's a question - can anyone from the Prosecution see what we write here (or anywhere, for that matter) and go back to work and use what we say - to better the case? I'm thinking of the diary entry from Jodi where she tried to say it was Travis' claimed (by Jodi) pedophila that made her sad vs her testimony that states that she didn't KNOW about the claimed (by Jodi) pedophilia until nearly a year later.

Pointing this out would show another case of blatent lying (as the gas cans) to the jury. I'm hoping it does come up only because I'd love to see what she can scheme together for a reply. This, and why Travis was allowed to write 'bad' things in his public blog, but she couldn't in her private diary....

    Just wondering - thanks!

Just for the hell of it, here is a link to one of the Youtube videos Travis was watching in the early hours of 6/4/08 when Jodi arrived, specifically at 4:11 am (from the testimony of the computer forensics guy who examined Travis's laptop)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPq1_...e_gdata_player

Apparently this was a Big Thing back in 2007-2008, which I totally missed. He also watched 2 similar videos, one was a faster version of this one and the other was of drunk people dancing to the song with boxes on their heads (remember Jodi talking about him showing her a silly video of people dancing with boxes on their heads?)

Anyway I thought it was kinda eerie getting a glimpse of his last hours and endearing that he liked that kind of silly stuff, and sad too.

    And yes, I AM obsessed...

Karlita. Hi. It was that dramatic moment at the end of the day last Thursday when, out of the blue, Martinez asked Jodi Arias why she filled up three gas cans at 3:57 a.m. when leaving Salt Lake City. I'll try to find my post and bring it forward for you. I don't think I could say it again with quite the same impact. Lots of people agreed with me.

Personally I couldn't care less whether she receives DP or LWOP. However, potential jurors are polled on their pro/against stance on the DP, so 'technically' it shouldn't be an issue for them come the sentencing phase. I realise there's room for error there, just sayin' a potential juror has a cop out right at the beginning.

Thanks guys. We did the Spring forward bit too at school, Ian1, but DST begins at 2.00am on the last Sunday in March in most of Europe. So 'till the end of March, it's business as usual over here then, not sure why I was getting so confused, maybe i go into a fog.

I didn't know Court was scheduled for 10am, thanks for that! And your patience 100Cats.

    I know you agree.
KARLITA Here's the post I put up immediately after what I presently consider the game changing moment for me. I won't bore you but I have a bit of an academic background in Drama, and this has the elements of some of the greatest climactic moments I have ever witnessed on the stage. Hope it speaks for itself. I am not insensitive to the fear and pity engendered by the horror scenes of Travis's murder, but when we talk of the 'game-changing' moment, this is the one for me. The perfect climax! If you want to ask me more, go ahead.

Thank you Ian, I tend to agree with most of your posts also. I think I misread about the trial game changer to be something other than the gas can scene. After you responded I went back and reread your post and I think I must have misunderstood not realizing it was about the gas. I loved that moment in the trial and I do agree it was a game changer and I think we have much more to come. The prosecution has really just begun in my opinion. I would very much like to read your original post discussed above if you are able to locate it.
