So, tell me how a juror living in Mesa that isn't sequestered isn't deluged with info on this case once they leave court?

There is some super irrelevant discussion going on this thread. Wendi Andriano's case was completely different to this, her husband was terminally ill and it was obviously not self defence (you can say that's the same case here, but it's not as cut and dry). Also, whether or not NASA blew up Travis' eye picture (rolling my own eyes right now) I'm pretty sure you wouldn't see much else than what we can see now, which is some black blobs and a white blob.

Also wanted to add that I don't understand the fixation on whether Jodi gets DP or not, and the obvious bloodlust going on here. Yeah she's a crazy bitch but jeez can't we just be happy if she gets life in prison? Either way she gets her just desserts and I don't understand why she has to die to make some people happy.

You can be sure that the Police and the Prosecutor have employed the most up-to-date resources and most sophisticated technology and techniques in planning their strategies and preparing evidence--gathering and collating witness statements and exhibits for introduction at trial. The technology used to recover and print the Travis Alexander, Jodi Arias e-mails, (is the number 82,000?) is a case in point. The defense has claimed that the Prosecution ought to have provided the information as Discovery by taking a screen shot of each message individually starting back in 2008. The Police Technician has testified that it was an almost impossible task and would have taken years to complete. Since then, technology has emerged that allowed the Police and Prosecution to efficiently extract the information from whatever computer and/or cell phone where it resided, and they used that new technology and they did it. The defense Lawyer, Mr. Nurmi, still attempted to use that time lapse to support a charge of prosecutorial misconduct. His motion got tossed. He will continue to try. That is the Art of Lawyering. The Lawyers are the essential ingredient in this trial. That's why the State of Arizona provides one at no cost to Jodi Ann Arias. They tell the story. The evidence is their props.

Whatever is presented in that courtroom as evidence, will not be enhanced in the slightest by a bunch of crime-scene wannabees, grubbling with the minutiae of whether or not a photo reveals a tiny spot of blood in a corner or by endless speculation on whether or not it is a figure of a Ninja in the reflection in Travis Alexander's right eye or is it Pixie Dust newly discovered in a photographic image taken five years ago. Whatever is discerned or imagined by anyone on this thread, will not be introduced into court as new evidence. No more than the testimony of Mr. Gus Searcy. This is not bloodsport. It is serious business.

Get back to thinking what this tragedy means to the People of the State of Arizona who are Prosecuting Ms. Jodi Ann Arias and asking their Superior Court., in accordance with the Laws of the State of Arizona, to convict Jodi Ann Arias of the crime she has committed against the PEOPLE--i.e. the first degree murder of Mr. Travis Alexander on June 4, 2008. and to have her put to death in accordance with the Laws of the State of Arizona. Share some of that insight with the rest of us. Leave the science to the experts, and the facts to the triers of the facts--the members of the Jury! Despite what science offers us in the way of explanation for what may have driven Jodi Arias to kill Travis Alexander--chemical imbalance, psychiatric or personality disorders, alleged abuse--try to offer some insight as to what other factors were present within her that can offer us some better insight into what made her a murderer. That's the question many of us are trying to grapple with in this case. And that is the gap between what science offers us by way of explanation and the question we, as a society, continue to grapple with. Maybe there are demons amongst us!!! The unanswered questions are in that gap and they are the important ones. What is it that makes somebody like Jodi Ann Arias a murderer? How can we recognize the next one. You won't find the answers relentlessly and endlessly poring through the photos of the elmos of the photos of Travis's bathroom posted on the internet.

Give it up! When the trial resumes, that sort of stuff will only distract the other members of this thread from focusing on the reality of what is happening and its significance to the People of the State of Arizona, the family and friends of Mr. Travis Alexander, the Institutional Church he belonged to, perhaps the family and friends of Ms. Jodi Ann Arias and, by extension, to the rest of us who seek to live in a society free of the mayhem and the chaos exemplified in the bloody scene in Travis's bathroom that his friends came upon the evening of June 9, 2008.

denn has been serial posting again, I see. I don't know what she's saying because I have her on ignore, but it looks like she's keeping up with her 10 posts a page average.

Newbies please remember this is a message board, not twitter. You don't have to reply to every post, okay?

And you people still talking about TA's retinas and other photo details, pen points, etc. - some of us are getting tired of it. Hints have been left. Maybe you can move this minutia over to the chit-chat thread. http://mydeathspace.com/vb/showthrea...6264-Chit-Chat

Who knows what you might find there. You might also want to explore some other threads in MDS. There won't be much news in the Arias case until Wed., you know. Just a suggestion.

Does anybody wanna think about this?

Ms. Jodi Ann Arias is a killer. (She's admitted it.)
Ms. Jodi Ann Arias is claiming that Mr. Travis Alexander made her a killer.
    Did he?
    If not Travis, then who?
    Was it herself?
If not herself, was it her family?
If not her family, was it us?
Or is there something else in Ms. Jodi Ann Arias that made her a killer?

That's the real question the Jury has to grapple with; and then us.

Why would one need to "grapple" with these questions? Nobody makes someone a killer, you either have that in you or you don't. Circumstances and what happens in your life don't lead you to become something, they just add to the reasons that justify your actions.

In defense of my bringing up Wendi Adriano - i thought it was related because they had the same prosecutor and both claimed self defense, and both took the stand for quite a number of days. Although I think Jodi has beat the record on that one.
Also denn or someone said that JM had never cross examined a killer before.

The jury has to determine if it was first degree murder or not. What was going on in her mind is important.

Precisely. Now extend that argument. It's an ongoing dilemma of scholars in the fields of ethics, of morality and of the law. They are grappling with the question and have been since the beginning of civilization. Do you "have that in you or you don't." Next question. What is it that 'you have in you?' Who has it? Where does it come from? How can we recognize it? How can we stop it?

Jodi Arias is claiming she should be allowed to kill Travis Alexander. An exemption from prosecution, if you will, because it was a 'justified' killing. Our society reserves that exemption for our members of the military, our peace officers and, our executioners, all in very narrowly and precisely defined circumstances. In very rare cases, (self-defense) we grant the exemption to one of our citizens. Jodi Arias is laying claim to a spot in one of these categories. Will the Jury grant it to her? Should they? What does that do for the next victim?

I get that, that wasn't really directed at you, I think some people just have it in their mind that because it's a similar type case that this one is going to have the same verdict.

No doubt, but you're never going to get a straight answer because the only person who knows is Jodi. First degree murder will be determined and decided upon fact and evidence.

Yeah, I wasn't sure on this, so I went back to find the original footage. Sorry guys, She does NOT reference this as the post regarding the pedophilia. She did that on the one actually written several days after it (granted it's all BS).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO9fgIL6acc

Go to about 40 minutes and you'll find it. She tries to make the point that she accepts responsibility (as if) for herself and also to try and show negative side of Travis at the same time. However, they don't mention the pedophilia. I am sure that if she had, Nurmi would have said, "oh I'm sorry, maybe you thought you were viewing the wrong one, this is a different entry" or something along those lines to try and correct her.

I was quoting a source from which I read. I am not sure he has not cross examined any killers in his career. I will clarify that here. Some one (not sure it was on Nancy Grace), mentioned that fact. He does have a great success rate for getting the death penalty in his cases. I think that source said something like 95%.

I think what oh right was saying is true. With JA claiming a DV defense, there is certainly a state of mind 'reasonable' shift to a lower standard by law.

I see this trial about one thing -- death or not?

Without the DP this is a simpler prosecution case. And I think what JM is really fighting is jury nullification as to the DP.

In my opinion, I think she's spent too much time on the stand to get the DP as a woman. We'll see, my bias may be clouding what I'm seeing.

Can someone please tell me why oh right seems to feel the need to tell me what to do on here?

    Is it their site?

In fact, they are so wrong about my posting 10 pages on average. And, if I do, who cares???

The correct term is, I couldn't care less. It's wise to consider refraining from the use of second person pronouns, (You).

Poor Ron, You know she likes a man who travels. I'm sure there are a lot of places to see before you die along the way. Take some pictures. She would like that. I know you want to bang her. I''m afraid you aren't her type. She wants a man with a fine house and a BMW and who has money to travel. She's also hot for kinky, fresh Mormon missionaries. Will you convert for her?
