Okay, I have a serious question...in order to get a murder 1 conviction Juan has to prove premeditation beyond a reasonable doubt, right? Do you think he has? He has shown she is a liar but she admitted that before the trial started. I personally don't think he has proven premed. And from what I understand if she ends up with murder 2 the prison time for that is 10 to 25 years, which she has already served 4 1/2 or so. I REALLY hope Juan doesn't fuck this up! (Can you tell I don't like him much?)

Also, anyone who has been following this from the start--has Jodi ever expressed any remorse for killing Travis? I am a newcomer to this but I don't recall seeing anything in the way of remorse from her in any of the coverage since the trial began.

I don't know, and will never know I guess because Jodi will never tell us. All of the resons she gave for having the gas made no sense. It has crossed my mind that she might have at one time intended on setting his house on fire. 10-15 gallons is even too much for burning up evidence.

I think that the prosecution is trying to prove that the gas cans were for filling up her car on the way to/from TA's house, so there wouldn't be a record of her being in Arizona (premeditation).

Yes, she brought the knife and she brought the gun.

Had either have been Travis' she would not have had to make them disappear in the desert.

Authorities finding either the knife or the gun would have proved how very premeditated this murder was.

I have never seen anything resembling genuine remorse from her, and I started following this case back when it was first profiled on 48 hours.
As far as the DA proving premeditation, it's a tough call. Depends on how much the jury was/was not swayed by her testimony. Definitely not a self-defense (she could have downed a bull elephant with injuries inflicted.) I'm betting that they will come back with guilty to second degree. Clearly, a crime of rage.

First time I've see the back, head and neck pics. I'm not one to cringe at gory sights but those had me turning my head away and feeling sick to my stomach.

JM needs to show these to the jury tomorrow. And again in his closing argument. Jury needs to remember what that sociopath did to Travis. And Travis deserves justice.

I totally agree with this.....I think she wanted to cover her tracks. She tried to to claim she was never in Mesa, in the beginning. Only when the puzzle pieces didn't fit, did she change to story B.

He can also get her on a felony murder charge if the jury believes the death was exceptionally cruel. That's why the gunshot coming first is key--it shows he suffered tremendously before he died. The sheer brutality would be enough to convince me it was heinous.

Even if they only get her for second degree murder, I think she gets the maximum sentence. Part of the reason I think that also answers another of your questions--she has never shown any remorse whatsoever for anyone other than herself.

I just crunched the numbers and it's actually doable if she filled up her tank beforehand (I forgot about that), which she probably did. It's 700 miles from LA to Mesa to Las Vegas. A 2007 Ford Focus (don't know what year she had so guessing) supposedly gets about 29 mpg, so she'd need approx 24 gallons. The tank held how many gallons? 10 or 12 I think they said. So with the two 5 gals, she'd have 20-22. She'd need the third can that she bought at Walmart (and most likely did not return like she said she did).

Premeditation includes the staged robbery where she was living where a .25 caliber gun was stolen. Several items of large value were left untouched as were three other firearms. The California police noted in their report that it seemed suspicious.

She rented a car 90 miles away from her home when she lived near two local car rental places.

She specifically asked for a car that "wouldn't stand out."

She removed the license plate from the front of the rental car, and turned the rear license plate upside-down.

She removed the battery from her cell phone before she entered Arizona so that cell towers would not ping her location.

She bought and borrowed gas cans to carry extra gasoline with her so that she would not need to purchase fuel in Arizona.

She used her bank card in every state except Arizona.

She dyed her hair brown after renting the car in California, but before her infamous "braids" photo at Travis Alexander's home.



Really, point number one is all you need to know it was premeditated. These points were kind of lost in the 12 days of Jodi, but I'm sure they'll come up again in closing.
