Some states do require 2 plates. I would have to assume that both plates were on the car when she returned it, otherwise the rental agent would've made a note of it, and they would've charged Jodi for it, because they would've had to acquire new plates. Those peeps don't fool around, they note anything and everything, down to the littlest scratch when you take the car out and bring it back.

Jodi is still on the stand. JM is still up for the state.
Judge told Jodi to please let JM finish his question before answering.

Car rental- Jodi was given a white car. The car's tank had the a 12 gallon tank. Jodi ran out of gas in Nevada. Gas light was on. Jodi pulled over and used the gas cans to put in the car.

In Winnamucka, she filled the gas tank all the way up. Her rental held AT LEAST 12 gallons of gas. JM show gas receipts. Jodi called OG (old guy) Jodi doesn't remember when she called him. Anytime Jodi says "Probably" means "I'm not sure" (that's what JM says)

JM now wants to know if she's having problems with her memory again. JM got the word murder in, then changed it fast to Killing. (LOL)

Jodi says she didn't tell OG that she was driving to Mesa even though OG said she did tell him that. (JM starts ripping her butt about her memory and gas cans)

JM has Jodi basically calling OG a liar on the stand. (JM is getting on to her VERY BAD about her adding stuff to her answers. Wow, it's harsh-true, but harsh) Jodi thinks gas cans are expensive. (WHY the hell would you take a vacation then?)

Jodi says the car DID NOT have floor mats. (Wow, he is being harsh right now with her)

In Santa Cruz, Jodi met Matt and his room mate. Jodi doesn't remember any times at all. Jodi checked her myspace at OG's house.
What was the purpose for checking it? Haven't done it in a few days.
Jodi put her luggage and gas cans in the trunk? (who does that?) Jodi brings a remote back. His Tv or DVD player.

Selenaist- nails-she had to wait a while there. She bought another gas can at walmart. Jodi returned the gas can back to Walmart.

Jodi said that her car would run out of gas quickly. Jodi keeps filling up about every 170 miles. She is filling up with about 12 gallons of gas.
Jodi did not have a 3rd gas can at that time.

JM wants to know why she buys a gas can when she's broke. I don't think he believes she took the gas can back to Walmart. That gas can cost $13.

JM accuses her of filling up a 3 rd gas can. Jodi denies that.

Why Jodi was in Starbucks, she called Ryan. She never told Ryan about her detour. She never contacted Matt about the detour. Jodi called both Matt and OG, but she didn't talk to either of them.
Jodi denies bringing a gun.

The call was to make the police not think she was a suspect. Jodi was misleading the police.
She knew before she called Flores that she was going to be taped. She made a statement about a gun.

EX 73- Jodi's taped police call with Flores- Jodi sounds concerned about Travis (eyeroll) Jodi says the only weapons Travis had was his two fist. He wasn't in to that stuff.
Jodi admits that was her on the recording. Jodi admits that she lied about the guns. Jodi lies when it doesn't suit her or her story.

Jodi knew the real story when she was talking to Flores. Jodi didn't know how the case was going to unfold. (Jodi is saying um,um, um a LOT)

Basically, at this point, Jodi just wanted to know what the police knew.
Jodi and Travis never went shooting guns.
She did see him with gun in his hand. It was his gun. He had it the fall 2007. It is the GUN.

Travis told her it was not loaded.
Jodi's granddad had guns. Jodi doesn't know all the guns he had. Jodi told the cop it looked like a "toy gun" in May 28. $30 was also taken. Jodi had her laptop with her. .25 caliber handgun was taken. Jodi had a purse. The gun could have fit in your purse, JM said.
JM then says, "what about the gun you used to kill Travis. Could it have fit in your purse?" (HA)

Something happened to Jodi's car at Starbucks. The skaters. Jodi doesn't know what time. I guess Jodi seen a reflector when she's backing up. (Holy Hell) She picked the licence plate on the ground and threw it in her car. (who in there right mind is believing this?) Jodi was scared for her safety. JM then says, why get out then?

They go on FOREVER about this license plate and Jodi's story.
Jodi is nearsighted and didn't get glasses until 2010.

I just don't get the license plate thing. Assuming her story about the skater boys is a lie, why the Hell would Jodi have removed her plates and driven without any? Wouldn't she know that was illegal and made it likely she'd be pulled over?
WAIT IT JUST OCCURRED TO ME... she WANTED to be pulled over so that there would be a record of her being somewhere not by travis's house close to the time the murder was committed. With a,lot of her planning she seems to have thought that as long as she had alibis and evidence she was somewhere else CLOSE to the time of the murder it would help her. She thinks police won't sweat the actual details. I bet the tags were just another thing she did once she was far enough away from the scene to try to throw police off her trail.

Here's my theory on the upside down license plate. She thought there was some kind of special CSI automatic license reader on the toll road or bridge she went through and she figured if she turned the plate over it would fool the auto reader.

No one would pick up a random plate in the parking lot without checking whether it was from their car, i.e. they would check if the back plate matched. I mean how stupid, someone else could've lost their plate, so you take it?

NO! You would check if it was yours, and you would either leave it where you found it, if it wasn't your, or like me, you would go into the Starbucks and give it to them and say "someone must've lost this in your parking lot!"

She obviously turned the plate upside down herself. And she only did it on the back because she didn't want someone who saw her driving away from the crime scene to be able to write her plate number down easily.
