Hey Ron, I haven't ever seen you make any comments with regards to Travis -- the victim -- and his family. Do you have sympathy for them? How do you feel about what was done to Travis and the pain he was put through? Do you feel badly for his death?

Obviously you have your mind set on someone else being the "real killer"/OJ. So, do you have contempt and anger for that person? Do you want to see the person responsible be put away forever?

you can give positive or negative rep, or karma. it's just old jargon, we used to use a karma system and some of us are still stuck in the old mds world.

You both got smites for that???

I'm confused too. Not a fan of the whole smiting thing to begin with. If I don't like what someone posts, I just ignore it.

We should be able to have differing opinions without being smited.

I haven't watched the trial this week, or any tv coverage about it. Last night AND the night before, I was trying to catch up on this thread and got disgusted by all of the, "death to Jodi" posts. I mean, I understand your stance, but it's almost fanatical.

And I also think she should be getting lunch.
    My brain can't.

If I were related to Travis, I would be trying to figure out who the fuck helped Jodi do this shit. That's more important than locking up someone just cause you don't like their face (or cooch).

You can put me in jail for his murder, but is that justice?

I'm not into the death penalty if that's what you meant.

I could definitely see the jury getting hung. Ugh.

    The smites are silly. Meh.

Going to bed folks. Its been fun chatting with you all. I kind of like it when the thread is this quiet. Feels like we are in the mall and it's shut down and we have free rein of the entire place!

Oh, this reminds me. Every time Jodi says her "brain is scrambled" I keep expecting Martinez to ask her if she thinks Travis' "brain was scrambled" after she shot a bullet through it.

(On that disgusting note, I really am going to bed! Night!)

Thanks bryanwasdrunk! Got lost in the load of posts during the week. Something about her long winded parcing of the question alerted me to wondering about that picture. No doubt she wasn't seeing any one else. Doubtful she got the wax for Ryan and she said travis didn't like hair. That picture shows the waxing was fresh and her testimony was she asked travis to stop oral sex cause of his beard. Leading me to believe the waxing was very recent. So the question is does JM recognize the significance and if he does can he figure out a way to ask about it?

Why are you so convinced she had an accomplice?? There is NO evidence to suggest that any other person was involved. She was not "tiny" back a few years back, and many women and even teenagers have been known to carry out atrociously heinous crimes. She admits the crime!

I believe she is totally guilty. The whole trial is driving me nuts and I can't bring myself to watch it for more than a couple minutes at a time because I get so frustrated with everyone on it. I mainly stick to Berm's recaps (THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for those!!! I swear you are a saint to be able to sit and watch/listen to the whole thing!!)

I am on the fence about what I think the jury will do. You can never tell. because there are 12 people who have different backgrounds, experiences, etc. all trying to come together on a verdict, I don't think anyone can accurately predict an outcome. We as spectators have time to discuss it with others, research, experiment with scenarios, go back and watch and rewatch all of the testimonies, etc. Some of us have been following this case for YEARS and we are able to see a lot more than the jury members can. They only know what is presented to them. It doesn't matter what I think should happen to her. I'm not in that jury box.

All that I hope for is that in the end there is justice for Travis.

I mean how do you feel? Does Travis have to be your brother, uncle, son, to have feelings about what he was put through? Put yourself in Travis' shoes or that of his family.

Do you think he deserved it? Do you think it was tragic? Do you think he was a victim? Do you have no feelings at all about the murder victim? I'm curious, as I've only seen you address your belief in Jodi.

I've never seen you say "The person who did this is a rotten human being and it was completely beyond brutal to inflict those kind of injuries, I can only imagine the pain and fear someone would feel in a situation like that", for example.

You're not into the death penalty then what? What do you think is a fitting punishment? Solitary? Breaking rocks on a chain gang?

It isn't justice to put away Travis' killer? It certainly won't bring him back, but that's not the point. The point is the consequences for brutally murdering another person and forever taking them away from their life and family. Life in prison?

Travis' family don't need to look any further because their viewing of the evidence tells them that the guilty person is on trial, whether or not you agree with that. They are seeking justice.

At BEST, if you were to be correct about it being a 2-person job -- which I don't believe -- what kind of consequences should Jodi face? In your scenario, she's there, participating in the murder, to a lesser agree. She's there covering it up, not reporting it, leaving Travis to die.

If Jodi was an accomplice, she had/has the responsibility to turn in the "real killer" don't you think?

They honestly believe she was justified. They don't care that she planned, slaughtered, covered up and then got some sort of sick satisfaction interacting with the grieving friends and family. I have to think that the majority must be family members.
I honestly think that Jodie would had moved on if Travis was a decent man. He played with her mind for too long and that is why he is dead. He played knowing she was obsessed, he knew she had problems, but continued a sexual relationship with her. He threw it in her face and let all of his friends know, that she was not his girlfriend. He would put her down when ever he felt like it. He denied her in front of his friends and would then screw Jodie behind closed doors. He knew exactly what he was doing when it came to Jodie, but he did not care just as long as he was getting his rocks off.

There was no accomplice. Jodi was able to drag Travis because the floor was as slick as ice because Travis was bleeding out, the tiled floor was covered in his blood.

i feel like the bottom line should be, even if you think it is morally ok for the state to murder someone, that the justice system is not 100% correct 100% of the time. the accidental execution of even one person is too much, imo. but, i tend to believe that its fucked to get behind the whole 'eye for an eye' line of thought in the first place. i struggled with the dp for a long time, mostly because of child molesters, but enough people have been wrongly convicted to sway me. since then my heart has grown three sizes.
