I drove one hundred miles in the wrong direction -- over a hundred miles, thank you very much! So yeah. Remember New Mexico? It was a lot like that, only you weren't here to prevent me from going into the three digits, so -- fun, fun! I'll tell you all about that later. Um. Also --we were talking about -- um, when we were talking about your upcoming travels my way I was looking at the May calendar. Duh. So I'm a little confused. Um -- But Heather and I are going to see Othello on July first and we would love for you to come -- to accompany us. Um, I don't know when the Crater Lake event is though, but it's on the way, so we could do Shakespeare, Crater Lake and the coast. So . . . If you can make it. If not, we'll just do the coast and uh Crater Lake. But um, let me know -- and I will talk to you soon! Bye!"
I can't wait for Martinez to play this in court again and ask Jodi to explain it.

Many cops explain that getting somebody to admit they were on the scene is almost as good as admitting the crime. With just that piece of information, they are usually always able to charge the person.
IMO, I think Flores wanted the truth, but he was willing to take Jodi just admitting she was there at the moment of Travis' murder.

Jodi's (ninja) story is not that uncommon at all. From all the shows I have watched of Crime 360 (and it's been most of them) usually one of theses happens.... The suspect lawyers up right away. The suspect says they were at the crime scene and either somebody else did it or it was self defense. The suspect admits to the murder.

The suspect lawyering up right away rarely happens. Usually the only ones that I see that ask for an attorney right off the bat are the hardened criminals that know the system.
Usually the suspect always says that a couple of other people did the crime, but they were there.

BTW, If anybody likes crime-Crime 360 is really good (but morbid) show to watch. It shows you in real time how a homicide cop works. It shows you from the minute the 911 call is made-all the way to the end. Just be warned-it is pretty graphic because it does show the dead body at the crime scene. Some of the crime scenes make me cry. But anyway, it does show you step by step how the whole investigation plays out in real time. Sometimes it is fast, sometimes there is nothing for months.
I completely agree. Flores did not flub up. He was saying what needed to be said in the interrogation. He can lie, or pretend to believe certain things as a way to get to the truth.

Haven't heard of Crime 360, thanks for telling us about it. I'm going to check it out!

Wurmi eluded to the possibility that someone could be leaving a message, listening to it, deleting it, trying again, etc. Since we know she left one message, my belief is that it was a combination of both listening to his voice mails and trying to leave the perfect "I didn't kill Travis" alibi message.

I agree with this. To a point. I think people take it too far though, and look for truths that don't exist. Like the ninjas "gun jamming." Many people believe that because Jodi said the ninja's gun jammed, then the actual gun jammed. That is crediting Jodi with truth when their is no evidence to support it.

Hi everyone, haven't read back yet. But, found this and had to share first.

Jodi said the sex tape was made May 10 2008
In testifying she said they were arguing day via chat / the computer. Odd part in her testimony about that portion is because she says the computer, but gets involved in her story and says ... so I hung up the phone. (Thought you were on the computer asshole)

NOW here is what gets interesting! In court documents re motions about allowing text, chats etc 'hearsay' legal arugments between the def and PA the def filing
and it just happens to quote from MAY 10 2008.

There are also text messages that can be characterized as emotionally abusive, such as a text message Mr. Alexander sent Ms. Arias on May 10, 2008, which stated
"Why don't you have him come and fuck you in the woods, I can only imagine you are so worried about me reading. You are paranoid because you have no respect for people
privacy and you dare insult me of all people. Someone you have should through your actions you hate more than love by denying me a human right of privacy countless times.
You have a lot of freaking nerve. We are all not like you in that aspect." [1114086]

Travis is mad about Jodi not respecting privacy and she turns around and records a sex tape. Bring on Juan

She totally sounds like a lovestruck teenager who is obsessed with her first boyfriend. She doesn't hate him because he abuses her...she hates him because he keeps her at arms length in his life, She is like a needy puppy dog with him! Forget the incriminating things she says.

I can totally see why she wouldn't want most of it played just because of her tone and the desperateness wanting/too giggly and starstruck tone in her voice, If I didn't know better I would say she was 15 in this recording!

I was the one who mentioned the 41 minute phone call that happened between Jodi and Travis the morning of June 2md - I found reference to it here: http://www.hlntv.com/slideshow/2013/...ragic-roadtrip

It says that Jodi called Travis 3 times between 1am and 3am that morning, and then he called her back twice- with the first call being 18 minutes and the second being 41 minutes. She calls him a few times on June 3rd, all short calls.

Then, on the 4th, there are no calls or texts between them, only her report that she got to his home around 4am.

It really makes me wonder what the calls on the 2nd and 3rd were about - whether she told him she was headed his way or not.

Jodi already talked about this. She said after they fought they would have make-up sex and that this was make-up phone sex. Also, she said Travis was the one who made her record the call. All lies in my opinion. But, Nurmi has already anticipated some of Martinez's questions and has tried to have Jodi explain them in advance.

Let me explain it is not about LE. It is about JURIES. LE CAN lie and most often do. The entire point is not about what they CAN do but JURORS hearing it. MANY jurors are too stupid to tell the difference or able go the extra critical thinking step. Like the Martinez case where the jury foreman bitched about dectectives lying. That guy murdered his wife and gets only 5 yrs! So the flub being, always be aware that a jury MAY be hearing your words! and might not like them or think you were serious and get bad theories placed in their head. Heaven forbid some idiot comes out later saying well even the dectective said she couldn't do it alone.

yes I know but but but... the point was privacy.
Juan-- so you argue about privacy, Travis was upset you violated his, and you turn around, record a very peronsal conversation and expect this jury to believe he ask for this?

Martinez already asked Flores to explain the interrogations to the jury. They talked about him lying in order to get the truth out of Jodi.

Every case is not the same. This is not a bombshell in my opinion.

I never said it was a bombshell

again, it's not about the case, it's about the jury. One thing that is the same; there are 17 chances sitting there of getting an idiot.

I have been up in Chicago so I haven't been able to watch the trial live. Trying to catch up on youtube before bed, which Jodi bores me so much I end up falling asleep about a half hour in (best cure for insomnia ever). I listened to the "sex tape" conversation yesterday. Holy fuck Jodi is annoying. I would be relaxed and then she would let out one of her screechy laughs and it would jolt me right up again. So fucking fake too. How traumatizing is it for his family to have to listen to their dead brother orgasm. Not to mention, you could see Jodi trying to conceal smiles during certain parts of the convo. I'm sure this has been discussed at length already, I apologize. I'm so far behind, but it doesn't seem like I'm missing much. Can't wait for the cross examination.

I'm really looking forward to when we get to June 4th but there is also a part of me that is sad because there will be a lot of truth about how she killed him and how he reacted. Of course lies will be mixed in there like what he did to cause her to become a beast. :(
