I think she knows she is done for and is trying to have fun with the spotlight.
LMAO!! Jump the table like Charles Bronson! That was awesome! Oh no, I'm sorry! I'm glad the jury saw the tapes as a whole, just wasn't good that Flores had a few mess-ups, but all-in-all - those interrogation tapes will prove very useful for Martinez, and I can't wait to hear him call Jodi out on all her lies and performances! Woo-Hoo!
Flores DOES deserve major kudos for having to deal with that shit for 2 days straight. I bet he of all people, is the MOST tired of hearing Jodi's testimony right now. It's like he's right back in that interrogation room almost 5 years ago, with her incessant ramblings and lies. Ugh, I can't even imagine the frustration and annoyance he must feel on a daily basis. Do you have any idea why Flores has been in court every single day? I know he's the lead detective on the case, but I just didn't realize they have to be present every day. Can't wait for prosecution to make the shit hit the fan.

My message to and my wish for Jodi Arias

From the very beginning of the phone sex recording:

Travis: "...the beginning of June through like the beginning of July, it's going to be a busy time in Mr. Alexander's life."
Jodi: "Yeah, me too." (in quiet baby voice)

If she was already planning to kill him by this time, which may be totally plausible, this really creeps me the fuck out.

Oh geez...you creeped me out. I didn't think that when I heard it. I imagined her comparing her life to Travis' and thinking how lonely she was, boring her life was, and he was going to Cancun without him.

However, when Martinez called Jodi out on the email, he commanded the courtroom. I can't wait either. Enough already!
thats weird they would say that - on twitter every one notices that nurmi never looks at jodi and spends all his time shuffling paper and staring at the floor - at least on twitterverse, its the exact opposite impression

That's exactly how I found this page too! I joined the FB page right around that same # of members. It grew fast- too fast where there were a lot of people there that were asking basic questions without doing their own research first and it started getting really frustrating. I saw a post referencing MDS so I looked it up and loved what I was reading. I think I even mentioned it in my initial post--- everybody here is educated and up to date on the case so the conversations flow well.

I totally agree. I switched the channel because I immediately dismissed his assessment. I usually watch Insession at that time, so I don't even know if this guy was a regular contributor. Didn't recognize him.

I first learned about this case when the 48 Hours episode originally aired and it has had my attention ever since (I am a true crime fanatic). I only recently found this forum, but LOVE the discussion here- very witty and insightful, and full of details.

Some of my main questions/thoughts that persist about this case are:

    1. What were the phone calls that Jodi and Travis had in the early morning hours of June 4th about? I think one was listed as being 41 minutes long.

    2. I think it was quite brazen of Jodi to commit this crime in a house where she knew other people lived, and in which she would have no idea when those people would be home.

    3. I have to believe that putting the camera in the washing machine was an accident on her part. With all the other types of planning she took, it just makes absolutely no sense that she wouldn't take the camera with her and plan to destroy it somewhere out in the desert. Without that camera and the pics on it, it seems it would have been MUCH MUCH harder to link this girl to the crime. I mean they would have her palm print on the wall, and a hair, and could probably charge her based on that, but it really astounds me that she was stupid enough to take pictures and then leave the camera there.

    4. I believe one of Travis's roommates said he came home from work on the night of June 4th. I think he said around 6pm, but maybe he said later. Does anyone know? Its very disturbing to know that he could have actually come home and heard this whole event taking place.

Last, I want to say that if any of Travis's friends or family were to ever read this, I would want them to know that I feel horrible about what happened to him. I think it is just absolutely sickening what this woman did to him. Regardless of any faults he had, NO ONE deserves to be killed, and certainly not in such a heinous manner. He sounds like he brought a lot of good things to many people's lives, and it is just so unfortunate that he had to cross paths with this chick. Just random bad luck there.
    Welcome!

On the FB memorial page on the thread about Travis' supporters having to sit on Jodi's side they are talking about trying to get all of Travis' supporters to either wear a button/ribbon in support of Travis or wear his favorite color (Green) to show who they are there to support. I just wanted to pass this on so if you go to the courtroom you were aware and could support him.

I feel really bad for his family especially with how long this is taking. I was reading back through the memorial page and realized his family all lives in California. They are renting a house in Arizona and staying there for as long as the trial takes. I can't even imagine the level of stress they are going through not only to have to listen to her recount every second of every minute of her entire life but to know they are taking time away from jobs and family to be there for as long as this takes. (Which by the way it's been going is going to take YEARS!)

I wonder where she learned to shoot? Remember she told Flores she never shot a gun, right like that was the first time.
I remember her saying she had never shot a gun but then on the stand she said she was going to call her friend Matt "because he had guns" and "she wanted to commit suicide" If I am afraid of guns or had never handled one I am not choosing that as my way out

And according to this website http://www.hsccs.org/poc/view_doc.php?type=doc&id=13737
Men are more likely than women to use highly lethal methods to commit suicide. Men are more likely than women to use a gun, carbon monoxide, to hang themselves, or to jump from a height to commit suicide. In addition, men who are intoxicated and suicidal are more likely to use a gun than females who are intoxicated and suicidal.

Women are more likely than men to attempt suicide. In terms of method, women tend to overdose or to cut their wrists.

It doesn't really matter to me. Either way, she killed him three ways. All in a very brutal and torturous fashion.

There are a few other things I think are inconsequential to the case.

One is if Travis was a sinner or a saint. Either way it doesn't change the facts that Jodi murdered him in cold blood.

Another thing that has become the focus of this trial is their sex life. It seems obvious to me that Travis and Jodi both liked to get their freak on with each other. This does not make Jodi more or less guilty. This does not make Travis more or less deserving of being murdered. I am sick of hearing about their three hole sex life, their sex tapes , nude pics, and sexual history.

I can't wait until Martinez takes this trial back to where the focus should be. Jodi, with premeditation, murdered Travis in cold blood because if she couldn't have him, no one else would either. The evidence supports this. All the rest is just distractions to try to get the focus off of Travis' murder.

Unfortunately, in order to learn those lessons, we have to scrutinize all of the details in deciding which one of those can teach us some life lessons, and which ones cannot. The value of Travis Alexanders life, and the lessons it can teach, do not end when the files of the Maricopa County Prosecutors are marked closed. I believe Juan Martinez would agree with me.

The rest, we can discuss later.
I appreciate you responding respectfully. I could be mistaken, but based on your comments I have the impression that you think I am not in support of and don't care about Travis, his legacy or his family. Please let me be clear, I am fully in support of all of these things. My comment was in regards to what Martinez and the court of law are responsible for.

It is a slippery slope when we start saying that a victim's legacy and overall character should be considered in a murder trial. By all means, it is more tragic to our sensibilities when a "good" person is murdered. If that person has a family, led a good life, contributed to society, etc. we may feel that it is more tragic than if a bum on the side of the road who never contributed to anything or anyone is murdered.

(I put children and similarly dependent victims in an entirely different category altogether, emotionally speaking. These are victims that are pure and innocent, in that you cannot possible put them in a "good" or "bad" category to begin with. But, that is easily an entirely different discussion. Ultimately, we should seek to put all victims in this same category. But we are human and tend to want to place children and other dependent victims higher.)

The Jodi supporters are trying to put a "value," if you will, on Travis' life. They are trying to bring down the reputation of Travis in order to diminish the crime that was committed against him. If we engage with them in regards to Travis' "goodness" we are allowing the crime of murder to be diluted with things that are not relevant.

The same theory can be applied to the murderer. It is a common defense strategy to try to make the defendant out to be better than the victim. However, if a person is a "really great person" does not give them more of a right to take a life than a "jerk of a person."

My point is that ultimately it does not matter if Jodi is a witchy whore or a virginal sweetheart. The same as it does not matter if Travis was a jerky womanizer or a devout virginal mormon. What matters is if Jodi willingly and with forethought took the life of Travis in cold blood.

I believe that is what the prosecution must prove. If we place a higher burden on them, such as preserving a legacy, then we are saying that the "goodness" of a person plays a factor in whether or not they are deserving of being murdered.

I've said many times that I will not debate if Travis is a sinner or a saint. The above is the reason that I feel that way. I realize it is late and I am extremely sleepy. I hope this all makes sense to me in the morning. Please feel free to disregard all of this and have an entirely different opinion. I just wanted to state how I feel about it.

The speculation for having the media on Travis' side is that way there aren't accidental shots of the jury. Could be wrong but that is the speculation.
I hope they do too. I know they have a lot of support but they've gone through so much in their lives. Their grandma passed away this December as well. I really pray that justice will be served and quickly so they can start to heal.
