I first learned about this case when the 48 Hours episode originally aired and it has had my attention ever since (I am a true crime fanatic). I only recently found this forum, but LOVE the discussion here- very witty and insightful, and full of details.
Some of my main questions/thoughts that persist about this case are:
1. What were the phone calls that Jodi and Travis had in the early morning hours of June 4th about? I think one was listed as being 41 minutes long.
2. I think it was quite brazen of Jodi to commit this crime in a house where she knew other people lived, and in which she would have no idea when those people would be home.
3. I have to believe that putting the camera in the washing machine was an accident on her part. With all the other types of planning she took, it just makes absolutely no sense that she wouldn't take the camera with her and plan to destroy it somewhere out in the desert. Without that camera and the pics on it, it seems it would have been MUCH MUCH harder to link this girl to the crime. I mean they would have her palm print on the wall, and a hair, and could probably charge her based on that, but it really astounds me that she was stupid enough to take pictures and then leave the camera there.
4. I believe one of Travis's roommates said he came home from work on the night of June 4th. I think he said around 6pm, but maybe he said later. Does anyone know? Its very disturbing to know that he could have actually come home and heard this whole event taking place.
Last, I want to say that if any of Travis's friends or family were to ever read this, I would want them to know that I feel horrible about what happened to him. I think it is just absolutely sickening what this woman did to him. Regardless of any faults he had, NO ONE deserves to be killed, and certainly not in such a heinous manner. He sounds like he brought a lot of good things to many people's lives, and it is just so unfortunate that he had to cross paths with this chick. Just random bad luck there.
