I don't really find it hard to believe that he would hide it, IF it happened. He doesn't seem to like Travis, he seemed/seems under Jodi's spell. So I could imagine that IF it happened, he would keep quiet.
What I don't believe though, is that his number would show up on Jodi's phone records within 12 hours of the murder -- much less being her first call after the murder -- and police and the prosecutor would not contact him.
Of course they would contact him. He'd be their first call, if he talked to a murderer at all, much less in the aftermath of the murder she committed. Law Enforcement would be tripping over themselves to get to him, to talk to him. Instead, we're to believe Gus, that the cops and prosecutor wouldn't take his calls?
I call bullshit.
The first person to talk to Jodi after the murder would be crucial. What did she say? Did she admit the killing? Did she admit he was dead? What was her state of mind? Did she say anything incriminating?
And, if he knew the night of the murder, wouldn't he have notified other PPL people? They were Travis friends and colleagues. Are we supposed to believe he found out Travis was dead, kept it quiet and went on about his business, not mentioning a fellow employee was dead?
Again, I call bullshit.
I believe, as others have said, that it was after Travis' body was found, that Jodi called him -- as she did others -- and tried to play the grieving girlfriend. Either Gus has his timelines messed up, or he is outright lying.
I know, right? It is really strange. They don't show any emotion either. I kept trying to catch glances of their reactions to certain parts and none of them cracked. The dad at one point though did shift a couple times when she was questioned about the sex tape on Tuesday afternoon. AWKWARD. Donovan though was quite chatty with the lady next to her. I couldn't make out what she was saying though...I didn't want to make it to seem like I was trying to pay attention.![]()
thanks tiggrrl, Travis had weakness like us all. I don't canonize the dead by closing my eyes to weaknesses just because they died but geesh, calling him names is hateful.
And calling him a hypocrite for what? I don't know too many that advertise their sex life church or no church.
Mandy!!!! They just mentioned you on JVM!!!!!
What makes him an asshole for me is in the sex tape he discusses with Jodi how someone used the word fuck in an email and how he thought he should send them a message asking what would their ward president or bishop (cant remember exactly what he said) would think. Then he turns around not 2 moments later and says the word fuck to Jodi. Like he really thought he had moral authority over his peers? He put down the group of people at ppl and called them awful people and souless.
I'm not perfect...but you wont catch me calling someone out on behavior I do myself.
I do not have a religion I believe in
I have made many mistakes in my life...many of which I would love to have a do over. I'm glad no one killed me at 30yrs of age over my mistakes. Don't get me wrong...she more than murdered him.
It's silly to put Travis on a pedestal. He set some pretty high standards for people around him and he didn't hold himself accountable for his own failures. I view Travis similar to how I view any leader who does not practice what they preach. I think Travis enjoyed the notoriety and was basking in the glory. He liked his custom made shirts and expensive suits and he enjoyed the attention. He had a boatload of skeletons to hide though. Who knows how Travis may have turned out. I would like to think he would have rose past those things.
I still Think Jodi is beyond vile. She is a frightening monster of a person who mascarades as a soft spoken, demure sweet thing. She deserves no less than life without parole and the death penalty is fine by me.
I won't feel sorry for me, I'm getting drunk
But I'd much rather be somewhere with you
Gads, they were just playing bits from the sex tape on JVM and it just occurred to that I think Jodi was trying to be like Paris Hilton...
She testified a few times that Travis said, "That's hot." From that sex tape, I only hear HER saying it like that... blech.![]()
I don't put him on a pedestal, he appeared human to me. Flaws and all. I see some kind things he did for people. And I see some not so great problems he had.
As far as calling out ppl - There is a difference some people logic out between what is said in private from public emails. We each set different standards, that doesn't make us assholes. That makes us individuals imo.
I swear like a soldier, but I don't swear in some places.
He was referring to the drunks at a specific PPL area. He put them down and complimented them. Said he respected them for their PPL work.
His ego isn't surprising at all. But it's a far cry from being a crack head. Again, a boy that lived in tents, in the streets, was abused .. valuing what he finally attained. isn't a big surprise. Basic psychology 101.
A kid that never knew love in those years, wanting lots of love (compliments) dished out. This isn't rocket science.

Huh?!??!
How? What'd they say??
They said a girl drove all the way from California and said she couldn't wait to see JM cross examine. So I'm assuuuuuming that it was you, MandyThe lady who said it was younger with long brown hair, sound familiar at all?
