It would be good to end this freakshow, but at the same time, if the trial ends now it means that the last thing the public heard was Jodi's allegations that Travis hit her, Travis called her names, Travis is a pedophile, etc. His reputation gets trashed and there is no cross to blow holes in what Jodi is saying. So once again, things end badly for Travis and her family.

I think maybe that is what Jodi wants (let me tell my side but without having to discuss the murder and no chance of cross examination). Maybe she asked for the plea deal.

I've heard people comment on his family preserving their good memories of Travis and his good name before. From what I've read about his family, they are used to and not afraid of the ugly things in life. There has been open talk about their parents and their drug use and struggles because of it. I personally think the family is less concerned about Travis' name being dragged through the mud, because to them life has ugly sides along with the beautiful. I don't think that diminishes Travis to them, as they have had to learn to overcome complicated relationships in the past. It's hard, I'm not saying it isn't, but I think they want her to pay and are not afraid of losing their brother anymore than they already have in the process. Just my impression of the situation.

Just a note on the "finger" a few years ago I dropped a pint glass on my foot, whilst working in a bar, the glass fell lip first onto the top of my foot and broke severing some tendons to my big toe. Hospital didn't notice the tendons were injured and was stitched up and sent on my way. When stitches were taken out there was obviously something wrong as my toe sort of slumped forward (I occasionally used to trip on it when walking in bare feet) anyway---cutting to the chase this reminds me so much of Jodi's injury. To me it's obvious she cut the tendons in her finger. Wouldn't it be delicious if Juan requested a x-ray to determine her injury? I believe she's opened the door, legally speaking.

Basically court started really late and then everyone was excused for lunch. Defense and Prosecution met in chambers and Jodi emerged after meeting apparently crying (for real). Waiting to see what is going to happen after lunch.
