Agreed. One of the most heinous crime scenes I have ever seen. She should pay. I'm not going to shed a tear for Jodi if she's one day laying on the gurney with sodium thiopental, pancuronium bromide and potassium chloride flowing through her veins. But the jury has to see the whole picture. That's all.
It irritates me his dirty laundry is being aired because he is the victim. It doesn't bother me the defense is showing he was not a saint, nobody is. It bothers me that they try and throw out things that are baseless about him. Him being a sexual deviant into boy shorts or whatever. and little kids because he liked her hair in pigtails. that is insane. Her reputation deserves to be put on blast-- she admitted to killing him and the killing was brutal. Go ahead and put someone on the stand who says he once raised his voice and drove a car away from her as a joke. Or that they slept together in secret. I just don't see what is sooo bad about those things. I mean we have all hurt someone or made a wrong choice at some point. Those are a few things in the grand scheme of who we are and I just think its shitty when that becomes the focus of who he was when really he was a loved person by many who died a very horrible death.
JVM is on and Beth Caras (frog in throat) was describing the last piece of evidence. It was hilarious hearing her say'picture of an erect penis... A BIG ONE!'
I wouldn't call TA a shitty guy. I think he was a guy whose maturity level was stunted. His childhood was a mess, he was raised in a very strict religion where he was supposed to stay pure and he was a virgin. Jodi was the great temptation. All of a sudden, he discovers sex and a woman who is willing to sleep with him.
He may have been 30, but basically he was acting like every 19 year old guy I knew in college.
if they aren't allowed to do that - then jodi wins on appeal and starts having lunched w. casey - maybe i'm jaded but i just don't think the pics they are showing are just not that terrible - it was just what ppl do now - to me unless the show him smoking a meth pipe and running a train in his living room or beating some one to a pulp - i don't think the sexting and phone calls will really have that much effect when the jury compares it to the gruesome photos of jodi murdering travis -
The ex girlfriend Lisa answered questions honestly, and overall my takeaway was she still thought of him positively. Her blog that she deleted but someone saved shows enormous respect for Travis. I hope the people saying he was a bad person for one bad relationship will read this https://docs.google.com/file/d/14fv5...W7k0JCkKN/edit and the ones other girlfriends and friends have posted.
Jodi didn't slaughter him because he used her for sex, she did it because she realized for real that she was never going to get him in the way she wanted to, it was a rejection thing that only a pyscho would respond to with her actions. As I have said, I know of no other murder like this in history.
I don't think he was waiting for her June 4th all hot and bothered; maybe he was nervous and that's why he did not go to sleep. Maybe he tried again to tell her it was never going to work out and by 1 or so she seduced him with her wiley conniving ways. Men are men, they are animals when it comes down to it. Even the religous ones. I don't believe half of the mormons are virgins at marriage, just like the Christians at other churches are not but it is what they teach.
I truly think he was trying to be a better person from what his blog and his friends have said. With all the crap today all the way up to Anthony Weiner, this is no anomoly to send weinis shots or even have buttsecks; gays do it all the time. I am not seeing Travis as a bad person, just a struggling person trying to do better, like I am sure we all could have done especially when single. I have plenty of skeletons in my closet when wild and single in my 20s. I think most of us do. If she was his first, yikes, she was way ahead of him and he fell for the sex.It is not for us to judge his life, poor guy had to face god's judgment way too early...if his behaviour in any way shape or form was deserving of what he got, then we would have a serious shortage of men on this planet.
Sorry, using my phone so I can't quote.
Welcome! Nice to have you guys on board.
I realize attacking the victim is standard for the defense team, that doesn't make it right. I would have more respect for them if they said Jodi was insane and disected her life, the way they have done Travis'.
and btw the way jodi has never confessed or admitted to press or LE that she killed him - it is what the her attys are usuing as a defense for not guilty, and they can change stradegies as the trial evolves - even saying ptsd or shock and was unaware of what she was doingno one but her attys know what the exact scenario will be
I agree about the sex pics. Who gives a shit about dick pics. That's the norm these days. I think those pics are mainly being used to show that Travis didn't embrace Mormonism as the state and Travis' friends would have us to believe. To me, the shittiness comes in with his lies, manipulation, arrogance, cheating, etc. Sure, we can say every 19 year old acts that way, but Travis was 30. Every 30 year old does not act that way. His childhood notwithstanding. And even if every 30 year old did act that way, that doesn't make it okay.
I went to SDSU.
do you think maybe he was suffering a little from arrested development because of his horriible childhood? think maybe he was concentrating on the material things rather than his personal development at that point in his life? - cuz sayin he was acting like a 19 year old dating does fit
by the way - what do yo think the over under will be that it will come out that now jodi was an abused child, physically or sexually, so when she claims he went after her she went back to her childhood trauma and had no control over her actions![]()
Fredfender, I agree. I doubt many of our lives would pass the such scrutiny.
I don't think anything they found is helping Jodi. He could have been the biggest scumbag on the planet, but sorry (my ex has the title} it still wouldn't be close to an excuse to butcher him. He didn't do anything millions of men have done, he just made the mistake with Jodi.
Agreed. I don't see anything at all unappealing about that stuff. He seems normal to me. After what I've heard, it sounds like he was way nicer than I thought and "couldn't resist" her or something. Their strategy is interesting, but not appalling to me. Maybe because it seems to be backfiring. Also, I am not emotionally invested. Just really curious. Neil deGrasse Tyson said when he was a potential juror he asked "why are you saying the defendant had 3,300 mg of coke!? He had 3 grams. I don't say, I'll see you in 7000 seconds. I say 2 hours!" He was dismissed.![]()
Anyway both sides try all sorts of crazy strategies when they have nothing.
I think he was definitely a case of arrested development. He didn't have a close to normal childhood. I think his drive to succeed was because he was dirt poor. No doubt in my mind Travis would have benefitted from therapy.
You make it sound like she couldn't control herself, so she is not responsible for her actions. Big disagree here. He didn't make her go crazy or do anything. She chose to murder him, period.
But Travis is not the one on trial! That's what I meant by that. And listen, I realize that everyone doesn't share my opinion and that's completely ok. What I'm irritated about it that some are bitching because Travis' dirty laundry is being aired, but it's ok for Jodi's to be aired. No, it don't work that way in the justice system.
If the things they were saying about him really did point to his being abusive, I wouldn't object. But the stuff they are putting out there doesn't seem to be relevant. The way they are trying to paint him as an abuser because he sent a nekid pic and he liked boyshorts is just bizarre and wrong, in my opinion. I feel sorry for this guy and his family. Not only is he brutally murdered, but now embarrassing photos of him are being leaked all over the internet.
Not sure if he was a case of arrested development. By his own words the poverty and bullshit he lived in motivated him to be a 'better' person and drove him to be successful.
Yeah, I feel like Jodi will play the childhood abuse card. Which is convenient since she lives with her grandmother. How long has she lived with her? Like, did her grandma raise her?

Not because he wanted to leave the trailer park, Artemis, because of his painful childhood. Have addicts for parents, the beatings, being told he was worthless. That all stayed with him.

My Samsung Tablet has 3bars in the top right corner. I can click desktop view there and be able to quote and rep.
I get it. It was just worded oddly. And he'd probably still be dead.
