I think I heard somewhere that he dropped the dog off with his grandma because he was going out of town. I can't remember where I read that so I could be wrong.

In Mimi's testimony she said the dog was there when they found the body.

The bedrooms are upstairs on the opposite side of the loft from Travis's. As far as the dog is concerned, they thought he was out of town. He probably arranged with his roommates to take care of the dog during the times when he was out of town. Again, I don't think he was close friends with his roommates.

As afr as the smell is concerned, it was June, the AC was probably on, which would slow the decay of the body. He was in there 5 days. It probably took that long for the smell to start wafting through the house. The roommates said that they were not often at the house, they basically went there to sleep, and one was actually away house-sitting somewhere else. The other was gone most of the day working and took public transportation to his Tempe job (which, if you live here, you know would take foreeeeeever). I'm not positive, but I think he said that he had started noticing a smell but didn't know what it was and was not overwhelming yet.

It would seem they did not. The one roommate was gone house-sitting. The other was gone most of the day working. It's entirely possible to not do a load of laundry for 5 straight days. I have tested this theory out, it can be done.

I pretty much do all my laundry on the weekends, so we usually go a full week.

My husband and I both work full time and by the time I get home it's usually pretty close to 6:00pm, or later. By the time I make dinner, eat and clean up the kitchen, it's almost 8:00pm.

The last thing I feel like doing after that is laundry... :/

Yeah, I usually do mine on Sundays. Also, my kids still live with me, and occasionally they leave laundry in the washer/dryer. I go to do a load and the washer/dryer is full so I say fuck it and do it later.

Looking at the pictures of Travis' house is weird. I remember how hard we looked to find a house big enough for our blended family, I wonder if this was Travis' dream home. I covet his closet! I want a closet like that.

The layout of the house confuses me. Are there two sets of staircases? It looks like Travis' was the master with a loft, but I don't see doors to other rooms. That would make sense if the rooms are on the opposite side of the house, the roommates wouldn't notice the smell right away. What I do wonder though is if they thought he was out of town, wouldn't they question why the dog was alone? Unless they assumed he was having someone come over a few times a day to check on the dog. It just seems like the way they talk about how he treated the dog like his kid, he wouldn't be one to leave it alone while he went on a vacation.

Good point. Also, what about the washing machine with all the evidence in it? I would have to assume the room mates never tried to wash clothes between the 4th and 9th either

Every time I see pictures of Travis' house, the one thing that always really stands out to me is the awful colour scheme.

I swore I would never wallpaper. When we were looking for a house to buy, our one no-no was any house that had wallpaper. Not only can wallpaper be ugly as heck, it's murder to get off.

My house was built in the 70's, my parents bought it in 1984 (I inherited it from my parents when they passed away). When they bought it, it was still decorated in 70's style. The dining room had orange brown a SILVER wallpaper. SILVER.

The thing I thought was interesting in Travis' house were the stripes painted in the laundry room. I can't see putting that much effort into the paint in your laundry room...

Does this color not remind you of Travis' house color? I almost thought they were talking about the house until they went deeper in the house.
