Justice, I have imagined that's the way the murder went down too. I was wondering how she got the knife and gun in there, but it could have been as simple as "Travis, close your eyes, I have a big surprise". Travis is expecting something kinky and gets a knife to the chest.

I'm not concerned about the juror questions YET. The jurors don't officially know yet that Jodi confessed. They could be simply looking for anyone else who could have done it. I don't trust jurors very much, too many cases screwed up. This trial is the only one where I've seen jurors ask questions, I'm trying not to read too much into it.

There are so many ways she could have done this...she could have had them in her pockets...she could have stashed them in the bathroom counter cabinets ahead of time. (Didn't they take the door to the cabinet? It didn't come up in the trial, but I think I remember seeing in a photo that the cabinet door was removed. Maybe they found her fingerprints there, but not in blood so it didn't play a factor in the trial. ???)

And yes, she would just have to pull it out and attack him...the sneak attack while he was sitting on the shower floor. That is haunting in itself. She had to convince him that sitting on the shower floor (eww) would make a great angle for her photos. Who would think that would look good in a photo? She did it just to get him in a vulnerable position. (This is pure speculation on my part...but it fits with what I think happened.)

Sequestering can be straining sometimes, I agree. I do think it's necessary in some cases, though. I think it would have been beneficial in this case, BUT only if the courtroom were ran more efficiently. If this jury were sequestered the way things are going right now, they would set Jodi free just from being pissed off at the judge. Seriously. They do that shit. Cory May (whose sentence has since been overturned and is a free man now) is an excellent example. One of the jurors that convicted him gave an interview after the trial and said she voted guilty because she hated his lawyer and that they were wasting her time. That she needed to get home and take her xanax. I'm not even kidding. This.shit.happened. This mans life was on the line and he WAS given the death penalty. Thank GOD he was vindicated.

Exactly!! That is why I hate the whole jury of their peers deciding things. It is messed up.

Oh, and my state is one of the states that allows jurors' questions...I think it is great. I wish every state did it.

YES! The last pictures of him alive were him sitting on the floor. Then come the accidental photos...he is still sitting on the floor in one of them.

This. I do, too. A lot of times jurors misunderstand due to legal speak or are confused due to legal speak. My brother, for one, is TERRIBLE about speaking in legal terms about every damn thing, totally forgetting the rest of us are laypeople.

I wonder why they hate it??? To me it seems to give a sneak peak into what they are thinking and what they might discuss in the deliberation room. Either side can use this to their advantage. I bet they don't like it because they think they have already asked all the pertinent questions of the witness...who is this untrained juror to be asking the witness questions. I can see their point of view on that.

I'm loving this forum! My poor husband doesn't have to hear me spout all my opinions about this case anymore. My friends don't follow it either. It is great to have like minded folks to talk with. Sorry I have posted so much and such long posts...I've been dying to discuss this case! lol!

There were two reasons I remember, by asking questions, the trial will take longer and the questions may be answered during future witnesses.

Personally, I the reward definitely outweighs the risk. The jurors are the ones who are deciding the defendants fate, I feel they should be able to ask questions.

I also feel jurors need to be closely monitored. It was clear after the Casey Anthony verdict, that the jurors had not deliberated properly. They discussed the case and came to conclusions during testimony. One of the alternate jurors said in an interview "we all felt she was innocent, all of us". How did he know that? He wasn't in deliberations. Two jurors said that they weren't convinced of murder, there was no cause of death. Problem is, it's not up to the PT to prove, they should have not made a decision based on that. I have dozens of examples, but I won't bore you. I feel we need a serious jury reform to make sure murders are punished properly. Too many kids are dying.

Oh dear...I really don't watch Nancy Grace. I might catch a bit of her on the radio on XM if I am driving and there is nothing more interesting to listen to. I feel like I know more about the case than the HLN folks...or at least I understand it better. They spout out so many non-truths and misrepresentations, it makes me nauseated.

However, she could be right about her stashing the weapons in her pants. It's completely possible...either in her pockets or in her waistband. She got the weapons in the bathroom someone. I guess it doesn't really matter...I just wish I knew EXACTLY what really happened.

"The Sociopath Next Door" is a great book, it's filled with people just like Jodi. I bet she can't wait to take the stand, to try to talk her way out of it with the jury. Her lawyer must be very nervous, not sure what she will say if she does. Her story has changed too many times for him to be confident.

How have I not read this book yet?? I'll have to get it downloaded right away. Looks like a great (and frightening) read. I am a HUGE book reader...I probably read 50 books at least a year...sometimes many more. Thanks for the book tip...I'm always looking for new things to read. That is actually what gave me an interest in true crime...I was needing something new to read. I started with the Jeffrey MacDonald book. I have to be careful to not read only true crime genre. It gets to where I am scared and can't sleep at night.

hahaha...that is funny. I think my husband is a little worried about my interest in true crime (not really, but maybe.) I think about the web search evidence that comes out in trials. God only knows what they would make of me based on my web searches and posts if I am ever accused of murder!

They're able to go back to the transcripts, and see pictures. That seems like enough to me. I mean is there a limit to the questions?

As much as it pissed me off at the time, I actually understand their reasoning. They did not feel that the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that it was a murder rather than an accidental death. I'm not sure wah PT stands for, but it was absolutely up to the state to prove to the jury that a murder took place. They didn't, at least in the eyes of the jury.

My friends and family all know that I am fascinated by true crime. My daughter is too. We used to watch Investigation Discovery all the time when we had cable. We called it "The Murder Channel".
