Listening to the defense opening statement since I missed it originally. interesting story. Very detailed about how Jodi and Travis met.

I know I'm talking about old details... but Lawyer lady says they're going to play a recorded phone call between Travis and Jodi to back up claim that he was deviant and abusive.

And yet he was still taking Booty Calls. I'm beginning to think that there was emotional abuse going on, and Jodi wasn't the only one affected. Not being an well educated person, she fell under his manipulations. Paraphrasing - "he could sell ice to an eskimo".

It's not really emotional manipulation if he was documented repeatedly telling her they had no future together and that she sucked. Most guys I know, honestly, still fuck the crazy ones they don't want because hey, they want to fuck.

You didn't miss anything. The defense rests. Back in court on the 29th.

    I will repeat:

Pesky work all up in my way. I've caught up enough to know that the prosecution rested, but why are they taking almost 2 weeks before they return to the courtroom?

Since court was our of session already when I went to the gym, I watched the 48 hours deal again...

Why do people who have been accused of a crime always refer to others as "individuals"??? Jodi talks about two "other individuals" when she talks about them. I smell distancing language, but more than that, why does this happen so much? Why not just say people? Two people came in. The shortest sentence is the best sentence.

Also, she talks about how she didn't know what had happened when a friend called her about Travis, then goes on to describe how she was there when these "two other individuals" came along. So there was never, ever, in any reality, a time when she was not aware of what was going on. She's a bad liar. Why do people keep saying she is a good liar and is so smart?

Totally off topic here... But that last one reminds of of a rhyme we made up when sexing rabbits. (Determining gender) If its a slit, it's a clit!

In Jodi's case, she hopes: if they see my clit, they will acquit!

I hate liars. Really, really hate liars. And she just has this way of getting under my skin even deeper. Her blood must run cold as ice.

I found what I believe might be a few more evidence photos that I know I hadn't seen. Nothing new, but maybe some different angles on the scene. No travis pics (I was kind of glad, the more I see of him, the sadder I get). In case anyone else hadn't seen all of these...

Good liars freak me out. I know a lot of people here think she's a bad liar, but just watch that 48 Hours episode and imagine not knowing anything about her or the case. That is how I was intorduced to this case. At the beginning of the show, I thought that she couldn't have done it. I could not imagine this soft spoken, articulate woman going on national TV, confidently proclaiming her innocence so calmly if she was guilty. Then as the episode rolls on, it becomes more and more obvious that she's guilty. I find that really, really freaky because normally, I have a pretty good read on people.

That was my introduction to it, too. But I think a decent amount of that was the show and editing. Think about the interviews you've been seeing in court. If you saw her speak like that, on the fly, you probably wouldn't have given her so much leeway. I guess the few minutes that I felt sorry for her disappeared so quickly that I never felt had by her. Once the "two other individuals" were discussed, I smelled her stink and my mind was made up.

I do think she is articulate. What creeps me out is how cool she is. It's eerie.
