There was a pretty huge murder trial in my area last year. It lasted about 10 weeks and they took quite a few very long weekends as well. The defense only had about a day of witnesses though.

Well, if they were truly wrongly accused, I could see why a person would want an attorney to fight the charges. That could ruin a innocent person's whole life.
