Police Search Well, but Find No Evidence in Hunt for Missing Missouri Baby Lisa Irwin

    Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/10/11...#ixzz1aVnfBZqY

The search for a missing 10-month old continued Tuesday as dozens of emergency workers searched a well located under the deck of a vacant house in Kansas City, but were unable to turn up any evidence on the baby's whereabouts.
Three firefighters were lowered into the well but Kansas City police spokesman Steve Young told the Kansas City Star that they found nothing.
The property is about five blocks from the home of Lisa Irwin, who disappeared eight days ago. Television footage showed crews looking below the backyard deck late Tuesday morning. The well was described as being 30 to 40 feet deep and 3 feet wide, the Kansas City Star reports.

The newspaper reported a firefighter said he felt something after being lowered about 11 a.m. into the receptacle designed to hold rainwater and other liquid. A different person was lowered down before noon.
Two large trucks with suction equipment arrived at the home to drain water from the cistern, and a Kansas City Power & Light truck also showed up at the scene.
A neighbor said the single-story house had been abandoned for about four years.
Young said the search was the result of a law enforcement canvass of the area, not a tip.
Lisa's parents reported their daughter missing last Tuesday after Jeremy Irwin returned home from work. They say someone must have crept into their home while the child's mother and brothers slept and snatched the girl.
Earlier Tuesday, Kansas City police denied a claim that the baby's mother, Deborah Bradley, is preparing to be arrested and charged in connection with the child's disappearance.
Sgt. Stacey Graves with the Kansas City Police Department told FoxNews.com that, "We have heard nothing from detectives to lead us to believe an arrest is imminent."
The baby's aunt, Ashley Irwin, told ABC News that it was "inevitable" that Bradley would be arrested as police were spending more time focused on the family, rather than finding suspects.
"It's what the police do," Irwin said early Tuesday. "They don't have any leads so they just have to pin it on somebody."
Graves, however, said police have "no suspects" and "are continuing the investigation until Lisa is found."
"We are still actively following up on leads and tips as they come in," she said.
The infant was last seen at 10:30 p.m. local time Oct. 3, asleep at her Kansas City home. She was reported missing at around 4:00 a.m. after her father returned home from work and noticed she was gone from her crib.
Officers were also reviewing video surveillance footage from a nearby store that apparently shows Bradley buying items with an unknown man just hours before Lisa disappeared, according to Fox affiliate WDAF-TV. The pair was reportedly seen buying wine and paper plates.
Last week police said Irwin and Bradley stopped cooperating with the investigation, but by Saturday they were talking to officers again. Bradley also said that during questioning police accused her of having done something to her child and of failing a lie-detector test.

Nancy Grace's Breaking News stories are usually "embellished maybe fact of something that most likely never happened". Her show gets worse and worse with her half ass info.

Private investigator now assisting in search for missing baby

    KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Bill Stanton, representative for the family of missing baby Lisa Irwin, addresses the status of the search Tuesday night.

"It is important that we use the media to help find Lisa," said Stanton.

He said is a private investigator helping the family find the baby.

"I will be asking questions," he said. "I am not here to defend or represent anyone. I have been asked to come out here and find Lisa and find the perpetrator or perpetrators."

He said he and his team would cooperate with police. He said they do a "thankless job" and investigators are doing the "best they can."

"I am here to seek the truth," he said.

Eight family members stood behind Stanton as he spoke. Debbie Bradley and Jeremy Irwin, the parents of the Lisa Irwin, were not present.

    Earlier:

Police and firefighters have searched a well underneath a deck at a vacant home located near Lisa Irwin's home in their continued search for missing baby Lisa Irwin.

But investigators concluded before 2:30 p.m. that the 40-foot well was empty except for dirty, murky water.

"The well was drained and nothing was recovered," Sgt. Stacey Graves, spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department, said. "Investigators will still continue to follow up on tips."

The vacant house was demolished Tuesday afternoon.

The flurry of activity began before 11 a.m. Tuesday and lasted almost four hours. Dozens of police, FBI agents and firefighters converged on the home in the 3800 block of North Brighton Avenue.

Kansas City Water Department crews helped pump the well Tuesday afternoon.

Police released few details about what led them to the vacant home, which is about a half mile from baby Lisa's home on North Lister Avenue.

Lisa's parents reported her missing a week ago. She turns 11 months old on Tuesday.

A neighbor tells KCTV5 that he did not even know the house had a deck because it was so overgrown with weeds.

Crews cut out a portion of the deck to gain access to the well.

KCP&L crews also arrived on the scene to disconnect power lines.

In another development in the search for Lisa, police are reviewing surveillance video of Debbie Bradley, Lisa's mother, at a Kansas City grocery store making purchases a few hours before she says she put Lisa down for the night.

Bradley was with an unidentified man making the purchases about 5 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Festival Foods. The owner said Bradley is a regular customer at the store.

The owner said Bradley bought a box of wine, baby wipes and baby food.

Bradley said she last checked on her daughter about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3. The baby's father, Jeremy Irwin, reported her missing about 4 a.m. Oct. 4 when he said he arrived home from an overnight job and discovered she had been snatched from her crib.

Capt. Steve Young of the Kansas City Police Department said investigators are working tirelessly to bring a little girl home. He encouraged the public to contact police with leads.

"The one right tip, the one piece of information, we can get will really get us a head of steam," Young said.

I find Nancy Grace's actions to be suspicious. Also nauseating and appalling.

It didn't say she was dating. She was buying paper plates or wine, baby wipes and baby food, depending on which news source you believe. Who does that on a date?

So, was the baby with her when she was at this store? They don't mention that she was. Are there family members who could have been home with the baby at that time? I can't even remember now who else is in the family.

What kind of sense does it make to search a random well four blocks away from the house? And how the hell could they have put a baby in the well if portions of the deck had to be removed to even get access to it to search it?

Rachy's post said she was buying wine with an unidentified man while her husband was at work.

To me that says "Party in my pants, and this unidentified man is invited"

If she was buying baby food and wipes, that makes me more on the side of "she didn't do it" mostly because, if she was planning to do something, she wouldn't spend her money on those things. But, she still could've done something accidently, or snapped. Ugh, I'm so confused...I just keep wishing the find baby Lisa. Alive.

I'm hoping someone knew them or saw them with Lisa and decided they wanted her, snatched her from her crib and is loving her and taking good care of her. Yeah, sometimes it's good to be delusional.

I always find it funny when people refer to her as 'Baby Lisa'. It's like referring to someone as 'Adult John'.

She was bangin the dude and bought wine so she was desensitized to the actual infidelity and buying baby food because, well she didnt wanna have to buy it the next day and well hell, why not? She had the next door neighbor teenager watching the baby and when the mom came back home, the teen said that lisa was sleeping and so the mother didnt check because she was a little tipsy and had to take a shower after gettin' banged by the one dude in the surveillance tape. The dad was on his way home and stopped at a wishing well and threw some money in so he could make a wish that his wife wouldnt bang strangers and then he came home and the baby was missing because the genie from the bottle didnt want to grant the dads wish and decided to steal the baby.

    I nailed it.

Why the eff do none of these articles mention where Lisa was while her mom was at the grocery store? Seriously, major news outlets! I can't find anything about:

    1. Where was Debbie after she put the baby in her crib? Asleep in her own room with the door closed? In a fucking cave somewhere? Why the hell did she leave the door unlocked?

    2. Who owned the third (broken) cellphone that was stolen, and why was a broken phone just sitting out with the other ones?

I know cops can be assholes; I don't doubt they may have told Debbie that she failed the poly, even if she didn't, especially if they thought it would dredge up some useful information. At the same time, however, I don't believe the police department would make a public statement saying that the family was not cooperating unless the family was most definitely not cooperating. In their line of work they've had experience questioning families and witnesses that were exhausted, scared, and upset. I don't think the detectives would have mistaken a tired person for an uncooperative person, much less lied about it to the media; that would just seem like a defamation lawsuit waiting to happen. These parents are creepy.

I think they really are going to bust Debbie soon, like the aunt said. I mean, I think the aunt is all indignant about it because she feels like Debbie is innocent and that's why she's even bothering to say such stupid crap to the media in the first place.

Police asking questions about handyman in search for Lisa

    KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Investigators have interviewed a bar keep about a homeless man who labors as a handyman near a missing infant's home.

Detectives also have knocked on neighbors' doors asking residents about a man known as "Jersey." He frequents a bar known as One-Eyed Jacks.

Police have shown residents a photo of the man who is known to ride his bike in Lisa Irwin's neighborhoods. He is apparently homeless and lived in a vacant home that was searched and later demolished on Tuesday.

Police and firefighters searched a well underneath a deck at the vacant home, but investigators concluded that the 40-foot well was empty except for dirty, murky water.

The bar owner tells KCTV5 that Jersey was kicked out due to intoxication on Oct. 1. Lisa Irwin's family says they last saw the 11-month-old infant around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

The questions about the handyman came as police dogs and officers on all-terrain vehicles searched Wednesday a wooded area in the Northland as part of the search for a missing baby.

Two ATVs were brought to the scene near the 3600 block of North Brighton Avenue.

This came in the ninth day of searching for baby Lisa. The infant's parents reported her missing about 4 a.m. on Oct. 4.

Her family did not speak publicly Wednesday.

Earlier Wednesday, police searched several acres near North 34th Street and North Brighton.

Police said this recent search did not come from a tip, but is an area they had not covered yet.
