Joseph Hyungmin Son, 'Austin Powers' Actor, Sentenced To Life In Prison For Gang Rape
SANTA ANA, Calif. — A bit actor who appeared in the first "Austin Powers" movie was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the violent 1990 gang rape of a Southern California woman.
Joseph Son, 40, was found guilty of one felony count of torture Aug. 25 after being linked to the crime through DNA evidence, said Farrah Emami, spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney.
In 1997's "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," Son wore a bowler hat and played one of Dr. Evil's henchmen, named Random Task.
Son and co-defendant Santiago Lopez Gaitan, 40, abducted the then-19-year-old victim as she was walking her dog by her apartment on Christmas Eve.
Son and Gaitan drove the woman to Huntington Beach and repeatedly raped and sodomized her in the back of the car at gunpoint. They also pistol-whipped her and repeatedly threatened to kill her, counting the bullets and telling her she was going to die.
Prosecutors say the woman, identified in court papers as Jane Doe, begged for her life before Son and Gaitan released her, naked, badly injured and blindfolded with her own pants. She went to a local home, where police were called.
Evidence was collected from the woman that Christmas Eve, but the case eventually went cold.
It wasn't until Son pleaded guilty to felony vandalism in 2008 and violated probation that he was required to provide a DNA sample. That sample was linked to DNA collected from Doe in 1990.
In an "impact statement" to the court, the woman said she deals with post-traumatic stress disorder daily, and Christmas has become difficult to celebrate every year.
"My emotional scars are intense," she told the court. "My twenties were stripped from my life as I relearned how to walk, see, hear and cope with the outside world again."
Gaitan pleaded guilty in January to five felonies, including kidnapping and sodomy by force in concert. He was sentenced to 17 years and four months in state prison.
I have no problem with this. Sex offenders get off with lighter sentences than small time drug dealers half the time.

http://gawker.com/5859197/kat-von-d-...-with-19-women
Star-faced tattoo lady Kat von D took to her Facebook this weekend to write a post titled "Thank you, Jesse James," in which she claims that her ex-Poopstache Prince bedded at least other 19 women in the months leading up to their September breakup.
In her Facebook essay—brought to our attention by Radar—von D comes off sounding pretty mature and humbled by her experience dating the serial cheater, motorcyclist, and Nazi stuff collector. Finally she's on our page now, everybody-else-in-the-world:
I know I deserve a big fat "I told you so," from everyone, and wish I didn't have to say, "You all were more right than you'll ever know" but you were.
Not to worry, I've gladly paid the consequences for every mistake I've ever made, but learned so much from each of them.
Using boldface, Von D thanks James for helping her to realize that what we do with this very present moment is the most real thing we have. She entered the relationship believing that James might "change for the better," but that's rarely a winning relationship strategy. Though she depicts James as a pathetic loser—"I think it just made me sad today to imagine him still in that dark place —where seeking validation through the attention of women takes precedence over being a good father, a sincere friend, a better coworker, and a happy individual"—she doesn't attack him in a mean-spirited way or call him any nasty names. And she had so many options to choose from, too.
There are a lot of really dumb women out there.
LOL. He's so disgusting.

Outrage over Jay-Z 'Occupy All Streets' T-shirts
Image by: Kevin Winter / Getty Images
Rapper Jay-Z has come under fire for a new line of T-shirts on his Rocawear label referencing the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement.
The T-shirts, bearing the slogan "Occupy All Streets", were selling for $22 (about R176) each on the label's site, before being pulled amid controversy because it was revealed none of the money made from their sales would be donated to 'Occupy Wall Street'.
E! online quotes a Rocawear representative as saying: "'Occupy All Streets' is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement."
'Occupy Wall Street' spokesman Patrick Bruner is quoted by NME as saying in response: "Naturally there will be some bloodsuckers who come out of the woodwork."
Another member of 'Occupy Wall Street', known only as Grim, was even harsher, saying to TMZ: "Jay-Z, as talented as he is, has the political sensibility of a hood rat and is a scrotum. To attempt to profit off of the first important social moment of 50 years with an overpriced piece of cotton is an insult to the fight for economic civil rights known as 'Occupy Wall Street'."
Jay-Z, who has been photographed wearing the contentious T-shirt, has denied that Rocawear pulled the T-shirts, despite their disappearance from the label's website.
"Jay-Z, as talented as he is, has the political sensibility of a hood rat and is a scrotum. To attempt to profit off of the first important social moment of 50 years with an overpriced piece of cotton is an insult to the fight for economic civil rights known as 'Occupy Wall Street'.
Say what? So the civil rights movement wasn't as important as a bunch of kids in band t-shirts sitting around in tents complaining?
It's guys like Grim that make people think the occupiers are a bunch of trust-fund kids "standing up to the man".

It's a catch-22, isn't it? They're protesting corporate handouts but think it's a given that they should have funds donated to them for something they have absolutely nothing to do with the manufacture of. From a corporation.
I love this guy like he's family, so I'm upset about this, and upset that I didn't know until today.
Don't expect anyone else around here to give a shit though, but I'm posting it anyway.
Get well big man.

SASHA GREY:
I Will NOT Quit
Reading to Schoolchildren
Porn legend Sasha Grey says she will NOT back out of a national elementary school reading program -- despite pressure from parents -- claiming she will "not live in fear" of her XXX past.
TMZ broke the story ... Grey -- who once won a Best Oral Sex award for her role in "Throat: A Cautionary Tale" -- participated in the "Read Across America" program at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, CA last week.
Afterward, the school received complaints for letting Grey around the kids. For the record, Grey has been out of the adult business for 2 years.
Now, Sasha has released a statement ... saying, "I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent."
She adds, "I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am."
"I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives."
SASHA'S STATEMENT:
"I am proud to have participated in the "Read Across America" program at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, CA. I read “Dog Breath” by Dav Pilkey to the sweetest 1st and 3rd grade children.
"Read Across America" is a program that was designed to promote literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading in elementary school students. Promoting education is an effort that is close to my heart. Illiteracy contributes to poverty; encouraging children to pick up a book is fundamental.
I believe education is a universal right. I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent.
I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am.
I will not live in fear of it. To challenge non-profit education programs is an exercise in futility, counter-productive and anti-educational.
I cannot thank my fans and 'Read Across America' enough for supporting my decision. Your support and kind words continue to inspire me. I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives."
