FBI organizing search for missing ETX girl
The FBI is now asking for help searching for a missing East Texas girl.
Officials are searching for 10-year-old Kayla Gomez-Orozco. Gomez-Orozco went missing on Tuesday evening after a prayer service at Bullard First Assembly church.

This is such an odd case. They haven't said (or I haven't seen) anything about picking her up on any surveillance videos that businesses in the area might have or a scent by tracking dogs. It would take less than one day to get to Mexico, so I'm hoping they've got eyes on the border.
People on facebook are saying her remains were found and that someone is in custody, but I don't see any articles yet.

I used to live in that town. Nice town but Jacksonville one town over is a little rough. Shocking for Bullard. Cant leave your kids with anyone these days. So sad.

I found one uncle's facebook page and he has listed who the uncle was. It's not an uncle but a cousin and only by marriage. He's married to Kayla's cousin.

So was he at church with them and just fled with her, or did he just happen by and see her maybe outside and snatched her?
I got the impression from the news that the little girl was playing outside the church.
He was married to her cousin, so I assume the little girl was close to the family. I think she was told to wait.(cant remember which area but I don't think it was outside)I think the man talked her into going with him or going outside.
Sadly I bet this was a sexual crime before the murder.
Just an update. They just had a press conference.
Wouldn't release the name but it's the dude I linked above. He's the only Hispanic male that was arrested on ICE charges yesterday that's also a relative.
I think this dude has several names which is why they won't release the name yet. He's an illegal.

The man accused of abducting and killing a 10-year-old girl is a relative who is in the United States illegally, reports suggest.
Gustavo Zavala-Garcia is in custody on an immigration hold after Kayla Gomez-Orozco's body was found in a well next to his home in Bullard, Texas, on Saturday night.
He is believed to be the last person to have seen the youngster alive. Police believe he caused her death. A law enforcement source told KETK, he is in the country illegally and had been previously deported for a violent crime in 2014. Jail records indicate he assaulted his wife.
He is in the Smith County jail with no possibility of bond.
Kayla was last seen on Tuesday at the Bullard First Assembly Church where she was attending a prayer service with her family. Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith told the TV station: 'A family member resides at the residence that we conducted the search where the body was recovered.*

The reason that I posted this portion of that rather large article is that Texas has and uses the death penalty. If the State decides that they want to pursue the death penalty against this monster, Mexico may put up an argument. They won't win the argument, but they may challenge Texas.

Mexico may not like it but I don't think they will have much of a say. I know they have tried to challenge the Texas death penalty being applied to other of their citizens, but they have never had any success as far as I know.
You're right about that!! I hope this case ends up there too.
I'm not glad that this poor girl was killed, but I'm glad that these people are dumb enough to do things like put the body in a well right next to his own house....
The way press was put out for this case, I think this guy was their prime suspect from the beginning. There hasn't been news yet for cause of death or if there was a sexual component, but I hope they do go for the death penalty.
My husband and I have lots of family and friends in that area and most of them are saying the rumor is he raped her before he killed her.
He was the last person to be seen with her. One of the rumors was that he had scratches all over his face and that's why the family/police suspected him.
The police said they know the motive but are not releasing it yet. I think we all know what the motive was.

I read that a church member witnessed Kayla leave with the suspect and his daughter. I bet this sicko committed this disgusting act in front of his own child.
