I create a "kick it" list every year. Zsa Zsa has been on it for about five years now. I was watching Diane Sawyers' show tonight (I have no idea what news program she is on) and she said some old fart from the show kicked it.Originally Posted by puzzld;3143312[B
Emotional Taylor Swift dedicates top award to her tragic friend as she dazzles at BMI Awards
Professionally it was one of the biggest nights of her life for Taylor Swift.
But as she was named the youngest ever country songwriter of the year at the BMI Awards last night she revealed her private sadness.
The 20-year-old dedicated the prestigious award to a close friend, whose funeral she had attended just 24 hours earlier.
'It's been a really emotional week for me... He was 21, and I used to play my songs for him first. So I would like to thank Jeff Lang.'
University Of Tennessee student Lang, from Taylor's adopted hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee, was found dead at his apartment last Tuesday.
Police are currently awaiting the result of toxicology reports into the biology major's death.
Taylor's tribute came as the pop sensation also won country song of the year with co-writer Liz Rose for You Belong To Me.
Taylor became the first songwriter to win that award three years in a row.
Bill Anderson previously was the youngest winner of songwriter of the year, taking the honor in 1960 at 23.
Johnny Cash was next with a win in 1956 at 24.
Earlier this year, Swift became the youngest winner of the performing rights organization's pop song of the year award.
Swift won the songwriter award based on her own recordings of Fifteen, White Horse, You Belong To Me and Best Days Of Your Life, recorded by Kellie Pickler.
Country songwriter of the year is one of the few awards the pop star had yet to win.
She's also Country Music Association's reigning entertainer of the year and tonight could see her win female vocalist for the second year in a row during the glittering televised ceremony.
BMI honored dozens of songwriters, including Miranda Lambert, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Toby Keith and Keith Urban.
In one of last night's most poignant moments, Ronnie Dunn, George Strait, Martina McBride and Faith Hill serenaded Billy Sherill, who was named a BMI icon.
Hill became emotional during her rendition of Tammy Wynette's Stand By Your Man.
Sherill was named BMI's country songwriter of the 20th century in 1999 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year.
The producer and songwriter is widely credited as the founder of the so-called 'countrypolitan' movement that opened the doors for pop-leaning singers like Swift, Carrie Underwood and many of the night's other award winners.
Sherill was typically dismissive about his pivotal role in country music history.
'I don't think I changed anything,' Sherill said. 'I think I jumped on the bandwagon.'
The 74-year-old said even now after all the awards, he still has trouble with the attention.
He said he would rather be at home watching The Twilight Zone than the centre of attention.
'It's very humbling,' Sherill said. 'It's kind of scary. It's so wonderful, it's unreal.
'It's really hard to talk about. It's easy to do, it's hard to talk about.'

Michael Jackson's deathbed up for auction
MICHAEL Jackson's deathbed will be put up for auction along with paintings and furniture from the rented mansion where the late King of Pop spent his final days.
The queen-size bed, where Jackson received a lethal dose of the powerful sedative propofol on June 25, 2009, is described as being in good condition but the sheets have been changed, TMZ reported today.
Julien's Auctions will hold the sale of items from the Los Angeles mansion that Jackson rented as he prepared for his comeback tour on December 17.
Jackson's personal physician Conrad Murray was found guilty on Tuesday of involuntary manslaughter for administering the fatal dose of the dangerous anesthetic.
Murray had admitted to giving Jackson a small amount of propofol to help him sleep, but not the massive amount of the drug - which is normally only used in a hospital setting, as an anesthetic - found in his body.
After the verdict, Murray was taken into custody, where he will remain until his sentencing hearing set on November 29.

Country music awards are about as news worthy as reality tv stars. Anyone with a broken down pickup, a dog that died, or a girl/boy that broke your heart can write a country song.
Yeah. Not like these gems:
Coca, uhh, Krillz-mania, dale dale All my niggaz locked down Doin that time, you heard me? This for you ("How do we get rid of rats, in the ghetto") We kill 'em ("How do we get rid of rats, in the ghetto") Fuck-boy niggaz, let's go
----
I don't know what you heard 'bout me
Don't remember holding out my pinky I'm gonna finish off these MCs
Like they were my cup of tea
----
Put your paws up, I'm beautiful in my way [x4]
I'm on the right track, track, track [x3] I'm on the right track, Yeah!
No mistake [x4] Yeah!
-----
There ain't nothing I can do
or nothing I can say
Just what I want to anyway
And I don't care just what people may say
And if I, if I take a notion
the jump-off into the ocean
Ain't nobody's bizness if I do
And if I go to church on sunday
then cabaret all day monday
It ain't nobody's bizness if I do
--------
Most lyrics are pretty lame. No pickup required.
I wouldn't know a Taylor Swift song. She's incredibly generic. Cute taste in clothing and kittens, though.

Just fueling the fire..
On Wednesday, Yeater's lawyers said they had first tried to settle with the pop star out of court. Chicago lawyer Jeffrey Leving said he sent e-mails to Bieber's camp in September and October asking for a private paternity test and negotiations for child support; he said that, at the time, he and Yeater saw no need for a public court filing.
“It could have been done painlessly, with the media never knowing about it,” he said.
Leving says he trusts Yeater's story, and wants to make sure that Bieber's DNA test is done properly. “People are so enamored with Justin Bieber, you could have someone change samples in a lab because of love for this guy," he said.

Sasha Grey to critics: Porn past doesn't mean I'm bad for kids
Sasha Grey said she was just trying to help the children, but she's wound up waist deep in drama with a bunch of grown-ups.
Grey, a former adult-film star who more recently had a role on "Entourage," was participating in the Read Across America volunteer program, traveling to Emerson Elementary School in Compton this month to read to first and third graders.
But when parents learned of Grey's appearance, complaints started rolling in, nodding to her former work for a much more mature audience. Award-winning work, mind you, albeit hard-core. But instead of finessing the concerned parents, the school district made the bizarre move of denying she'd been on campus.
Officials first said Grey was never present, according to TMZ, the outlet that posted photos of Sasha. At Emerson Elementary. Reading to the kids.
"I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent," Grey said in a statement, adding that her porn past does not define who she is.
One opinion from a parent, courtesy of KTLA-TV: "They could not find a fireman or a police officer? They had to get a porn star?"
Grey, however, has no plan to walk away from programs aimed at helping kids, saying she'll "remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives."
She's not a porn star anymore?
I don't understand the issue. The kids don't know what she used to do. Unless their parents show them.
