Alyce was impeached while she was on the stand. There is no separate hearing to impeach a witness. I believe the issue regarding Samantha was dealt with in Judge's chambers so it's something else.

So what exactly does it mean that she is 'impeached'?? Is there any punishment from that? Does the jury know this?

Poor Travis. Wasn't enough that he was killed. She's taking his life and trying to run it thru the mud as well. Must be hard for his family.

Yeah, I don't think he knew he was being recorded. She said it was his idea but she was the only one with the copy of it? Hm. At some point Travis would have mentioned the recording somewhere in the conversation. The only thing Jodi asked him was, "can you say that again?"

She lied to the jury and they know it. JM established that on Friday. The jury will be given an instruction that if they disbelieve any portion of a witnesses testimony they can then disregard all of that witnesses testiminy.

Well, that, and Bobby was apparently still an active part of the conversation two pages ago. I figure there would be no harm done in saying I couldn't find anything on him.

He is too young to show up on the census....Ancestry's most recent census is the 1940 census.

I was just looking at the court minutes for the 2011 and 2012 and noted some interesting facts
1. Defense tried to get the statement "no jury will convict me..." precluded from the trial
2. Defense had an expert who had to withdraw for health reasons (not sure if i believe that) and apparently that's when they got ALV
3. Defense tried to get testimony about the gun being stolen from JA's grandparents home precluded
4. JA wanted to have results of polygraph test used during the mitigation phase of the trial
5. Defense wanted to preclude JM from saying during closing arguments that JA showed no remorse...their argument being that since it was "self-defense" she would not necessarily be remorseful

Does anyone know when she said she wouldn't spend any time in prison? I was reading through the minutes and saw:

IT IS ORDERED granting the motion in part as to the Defendant’s statement “ she will not spend any time in prison."
