so they are saying mistrial because the dective thought he was shot first??
Defense is grasping at straws.
So the whole thing is self defense.
It's a matter of showing if he suffered and she went above and beyond and straight out killed him in malice. It obviously is shown he suffered and was treated extremely cruel. I really think the fact that she shoved him in the shower before she left shows that it wasn't something that was self defense. In my opinion it would show probable cause.
Edit: Poor Detective Flores is sitting there like a kid in trouble.
what hearing are they talking about?
I don't even understand. If you get in a fight with me and shoot me, but I don't die and try to defend myself, then stabbing me ten bajillion times is YOU defending yourself? Holy Trayvon Martin logic.
Here it comes...
The defense is trying to call a mistrial because the Detective thought Travis was shot first and then said he wasn't. They are saying it's the detectives opinion and he has no medical background so his opinion is invalid.
The Judge is SHUTTING IT DOWN. Saying that it does not matter what the detective said. So fuck you defense, you aren't getting a mistrial because he has defensive marks on his hands from the knife and 27 stab wounds to his back. State showed probable cause that it was especially cruel. DENIED
Edit: I have no idea what they were referencing before, but Leapy posted it. I thought you were asking what they are talking about now.

Can someone fill me in about the detective vs the ME, pretty please? I really don't want to wade through all the pages. I haven't seen any coverage today.
I left the feed on by accident and they are talking about how it's super cold out and all the inmates in "Tent City" are freezing. Let's hope Jodi is there.
Nevermind. I just saw Kristinella's explanation.
My feed FROZE!!!!!!
So the Detective first said the sequence of blows to Travis was that he shot first and then went back to say it was a misunderstanding after the ME said that he was stabbed first. They said that since he was confused that could create a reasonable doubt in the mind of the jury.
For some reason that would make it less cruel. I don't know why. The Judge was like, it doesn't matter what the sequence was, it was especially cruel and wasn't just self defense. He suffered physically and mentally and she still deserves the death penalty.
It's all about how cruel it was and how much he suffered prior to dying.
Basically the TL;DR: The Defense has nothing so they went after the poor Detective.
