NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City jury has awarded a former Playboy playmate $1.2 million for injuries she suffered during a 2006 scuffle with police based on a taxi driver's false accusation that she was armed and dangerous.

Stephanie Adams claimed in a lawsuit that officers threw her on the ground at gunpoint after she got into an argument with the cabbie. She says the driver refused to help carry her bags into her apartment then called 911 and falsely told police she had a gun and was going to shoot him.

Adams says she suffered permanent neck and back injuries from the rough treatment.

The Daily News (http://nydn.us/w8mLu1 ) says the city Law Department is considering its options, including asking the judge to reduce the award or overturn the jury's Tuesday verdict.
