BALDWIN, Pa. ' A Baldwin couple is facing charges after their 1-year-old son died of a drug overdose and an 11-year-old boy who lives in the home tested positive for cocaine, police said.

Paramedics and police found Thomas Humphreys, 1, dead inside a home on Oakleaf Road on Sept. 13.

Investigators questioned the baby's parents, 45-year-old Tracy Humphreys and 45-year-old Thomas Snelsire, and searched their home. Inside the home, they found several bricks of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Some of the drugs were within reach of the baby's pack-n-play.

Thomas Snelsire, 45, and Tracy Humphreys, 45, turned themselves in to police after their 1-year-old son died of a drug overdose.

According to the police criminal complaint, investigators found a plastic straw in the baby's pack-n-play with 'an unknown white powder in the straw.'

An autopsy revealed the baby died of a drug overdose and had fentanyl in his system. Police also tested an 11-year-old who lived inside the home, and he tested positive for cocaine.

Both Humphreys and Snelsire are facing criminal homicide charges in the baby's death. They're also facing several other charges, including child endangerment and drug possession. They turned themselves in to police Thursday.

As recently as May and July 2020, a detective filed two separate child endangerment reports on the couple. Just a month ago, Children & Youth Services completed a whole-house inspection -- and the case worker said no drugs or poor conditions were found at the time.

However, the day paramedics and police showed up to the parents' house, neighbors told Channel 11 they all ran outside to try to help, but it was too late. Detectives said the baby had been dead for some time.

Loved ones have started a GoFundMe for the baby's funeral arrangements. CLICK HERE for more info.
