I love when people seem to think that the members here are saying that their family members "deserved to die". I mean, point out where anyone on here said that.

There are exceptions to the rule, of course, like kid rapers and murderers etc. But nobody is on here saying anyone deserved to die. You're confusing that with us not being surprised that they died. AKA "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes". He was such an avid hunter, he should have known that this is when bears fatten up for the winter and field dressing a moose would attract them.

As for the death threats etc. Nobody deserves that in this case and I'm sorry that's happening, however to think that this wouldn't be reported on as widespread news with the circumstances as such is idiocy. The entitlement is what I don't appreciate here. They aren't special just because they were "Well respected". They've read equally as strange circumstances of others throughout their lives and didn't bat an eye. I'm 99% sure of that fact.

As I said, he made decisions that cost him his life. When we hunt, we hunt in teams for a reason. If something happens out there, a backup is good. Most of us go out alone occasionally but it's not typical when you hunt large game as they were.

It wasn't even entitlement when they asked the reporter not to initially release names at that time. The parks department hadn't even released his name yet. The family had just found out the morning before. Ryleigh was out of state as well (not in Alaska) and hadn't even gotten a flight home yet when the MNJ ran it. It was just something that was made harder than it already was. I cannot imagine anyone in the same situation wouldn't want a small amount of privacy.
