me and my bff are on this site www.sparkpeople.com ...it is a great tool. i think they have an option where it can give you meal plans that are low carb. they also have lots of diet tips. it might help you with the good carb/bad carb info you are looking for.
[/quote]Are you still following this plan? I got a book about it from the library but didn't get a chance to read it all.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but does anyone here know anything about the HcG diet? I am curious to try it. My husband thinks I should do the Southbeach diet if I want to diet but I am really curious about the HcG diet.

I haven't read too much of this thread but has anyone sucessfully -or not so sucessfully- done the Master Cleanse? I really like the idea of purging/purifying before starting a new eating plan but 1) I'm afraid that I'll drop dead and I have too much to do for that or 2) I'll shit myself to death.
    Thoughts?

For those that give a shit, I lost 20 pounds in 30 days with the HCG diet I was doing, and I fucked it up a few times because there were a couple birthdays and I can't resist delicious cake.  (There were actually a shitload of other issues going on like our fridge breaking but I'm just gonna blame the cake.)

okay, first off, purging, never a good idea.    I purged for almost 10 yrs.  My insides are still paying for it.  Stomacheaches (sp?) are the worst.  I can't drink or eat too much sweets.  I get killer pains, I mean killer pains!

It's for a week. Maybe purging wasn't the right word, but you do a salt water flush and clean out your insides of.. uh.. old poo. I would imagine your butt will be a'purgin.

Do it! I'm on day two and I feel great. I'm trying for 5 days and then going back to no carbing. I just wanted to clean house first.
I will say, however, that the salt flush is um.... hm. Fun.

I don't even weigh myself anymore. I stay roughly the same weight. Still fat, but not really gaining, so I guess that's good too.

My flush only lasted a couple of days. I couldn't handle the energy zap and keeping up with two little ones. Boo.
But I've been eating as close to no-carb as I can and have lost 3.5 lbs since Sunday, woo. Only *coughcoughcoughcough* more to go!

I gained 6 pounds in a week once. The guy who ran the slimming club that I was a member of looked at me in dismay. I admit, I ate like shit and drank a load of booze.

I go from one extreme to the other.

This past week the scale didn't show that I lost anything but I feel like I lost 10 pounds!  Weird but I'm used to it.  I usually only lose every two weeks so I am thinking I will have a decent number next week.  It's taken me a long time to adjust to my body's internal weight loss detector.  I used to get discouraged and feel as if my attempts were useless but I now accept that if I stay on plan and that this is a change for life it doesn't matter if I lose every week or once a month.  Sooner or later it will make a difference.

Oh I ate like total crap and drank a lot of beer. I hadn't had beer in a long time. It was heavenly.

I love beer and real ales. They make me get a beer paunch. So I'm sticking with vodka.
