Maybe I find it awful in a LOTR type way. I hated it, but can appreciate it's value. If it truly did all of this stuff you guys are saying that it did. Hahah. I'm trying to backtrack now.
Yeah, I don't think everyone should love it, I've just never heard anyone say it's awful. I've just always thought it was good for all the reasons you said, she helped create I Love Lucy, ran her own television studio. How many other women were stars of a tv show at that time?
I think it's pretty telling to compare the two since the Three Stooges were entirely stunt gags and Lucy was a much, much more complex and clever show.
There is a huge difference, though. Like, I can say 'I don't like such and such' and that means MY taste, whereas 'that's shit' should be reserved for things like the show Grimm which is inarguably horrible.
Hmm. I kind of get it. I don't feel the same way about I Love Lucy as I do about Jersey Shore. I truly hate the show, but, yea, I don't think the world would be a better place without it. Furthermore, I think it's a neat part of history and iconic to the 50's. Same with the Three Stooges. But who knows? Maybe one day Jersey Shore will be seen as iconic to the early 21st century.
And now I'm off to google Grimm. Fucking MDS.
Grimm is the worst show on television that isn't reality TV.
Groundbreaking!
It's Song Of The South in case anyone is wondering.

Thank God someone else feels this way! I watched half a season before I gave up. The lead actor is as charismatic as moldy bread and the plots are so lame. I stopped watching the other fairy tale one because it seemed too twee after four episodes. I'll stick to Lost Girl on SyFy.
Two of the most gorgeous actresses ever. There are few who come close, although I am partial to Liz Taylor. But that's mostly because she was a crazy Pisces and I'm a Pisces. That's why I adore Drew Barrymore for ever.
Other Hollywood beauties: Ingrid Bergman, Clara Bow, Gene Tierney and Fay Wray!
