sketch of the suspect.
“We are pretty confident that we are zeroing in on the person who did this and the person knows that as well,” Shaw said.
Investigators continue to speak with April’s family and her boyfriend, but they are not considered suspects.
In addition, police say they no longer are looking for a gray van that had been reported to be in the area on the night of the slaying. But they do want to locate a man who was riding a small, dark-colored motorcycle that may have been riding on the trail.

Most people aren't aware they are about to be abducted/murdered. If she knew why in the hell would she not run the fuck away?!? Seriously, why take time to text instead of calling 911?
From reading some more articles, I think the police suspect that the van might have been following April. Maybe she got that vibe something was off and sent that text.
Also, it says that April walked that path every night with her dog.
The police did confirm that she was NOT shot or stabbed.

Why would he murder her? Looks like he scored out of his league Seems like he'd want to hold onto that.

GOOD DOG
Not really. They said that the family, the boyfriend and the boyfriend's Mom are not suspects at this time. That's different than ruling them out. If they know and they know that he knows but don't have enough evidence against him yet, they're not going to advertise that he's a suspect. They're going to watch him. They want him to think that they're not on to him.
The two main motives to kidnapping are Sex or Ransom. Neither of those happened.
Is that dog pink?
The only thing I can figure out about the text is maybe the guy didn't realize she had a cellphone, so she couldn't actually call 911 because he'd hear her. We really don't know exactly how much time elapsed between the time he abducted her and the time he killed her. That may have been all she had time to do, just send that one text.
Also, sorry for the double post but these seems useful:

I didn't even know there was such a thing.
Reminded me of this: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Jennifer_Moore
When I first saw the title (which only shows the first part) I thought "Oh great, another "missing" girl with a scary text/note, who will end up not being missing and it was all a joke." Until I read that she was found dead. Then I felt bad. Seriously, this is hecka scary...
So I got sucked into this thread on another forum and now don't know what to believe. Many questions about the text!

Pretty white girls can't die like that. It's not part of the plan. When that shit happens, things gotta change.
