The HLN coverage is awful. Hard to follow with sidebars and no analysis of the issue. Seems like HLN only avataravatar the
Defendant was 15 at t he time of the murder and does not know all.of the ins and outs of these relationships so provides no insight.

Such a brutal death for a young teen...... doesn't the mom seem to be a little emotionally detached on the stand?
The mother had an angry demeanor the whole time she was answering questions it seemed to me. One of the juror questions was in what way did Trey and Joshua Young not get along and she really did not have an answer. It had been reported in the beginning that they were friends but the grandmother and her have made a point of going on HLN shows to say that was not true.
I have been watching on wild about trial and the white noise during sidebars is awful

Here is part of the fathers interview, there is a longer one with him in this same shirt that shows what a twisted person he is. I keep hearing that he has devil horns? I do not see that unless they are talking about the odd hairline.

    another interview

(this is the one where he says it was "just one murder, not a whole bunch of murders and to tell the mother We're even"

The HLN coverage is awful and did.not cover the jury questions. Just cut off the coverage at six and wanted to.replay the Castro sentencing. Appreciate your updates. That family is a mess and the father is a hateful being.

That poor boy never had a chance. His dad is as evil as they come. His mother died due to a drug overdose. I read the article with the interview with his social worker and all the kid had gone through in his life and it is absolutely pitiful.

I missed maybe the first half hour or so this morning...does anybody know if the prosecution rested already, because it looks like the witness that just testified is a defense witness.....or maybe it was just a witness out of order because of scheduling conflicts. If the prosecution already rested I would be shocked because its almost like they didn't put on a case at all.....???????

Why does the courtroom look like a big mess?!? Looks like people threw all their belongings on every table/stand.

I think "informal" was a good word to use here.

Wasn't going to watch this trial but, well, you know how that goes! Glad Josh G is behind bars but what are his chances of getting parole after 20? I would hope the viciousness of his crime would lessen his chances when he goes before any parole board.

Have a bad feeling about the son, Josh Y. Another bad seed???

    This is just sad.

I missed a bit but it is still prosecution, they are supposed to call Josh Grouker, the father to testify for the prosecution I heard. The medical examiner was up and now either a social worker or detective? I keep missing bits because of their dang white noise being so loud have to keep turning it down

You are right! Watching Raising America (wanted to see the Predator Test and they said one witness had to testify out of order because of a scheduling conflict)
His father is supposed to testify today

I was just eavesdropping on the attorneys in the courtroom during the lunch break (don't understand why they leave the video on) but it sounds like they are going to have more physical evidence submission this afternoon....I didnt hear anyone talking about Goucker being in the courtroom today.....we'll see

I feel a little bad for Josh Young. His dad was teaching him some horrible lessons about life. I have a gut feeling he either KNEW about it, HELPED with it, stood guard, or lured him in that direction. If he did none of those things and I am wrong, then I hope justice is served where it is deserved.

I really have no idea if Josh Young was involved...I WANT to believe that he was not....and if he was, who knows what that monster of a father threatened to do to him if he didn't help. I feel so bad for him...seemed like his life was finally heading in the right direction with his foster family...I so do no understand why his father was given custody once he was released from jail....with his history I don't know why his parental rights could not be permanently terminated...seems like nobody stood up for the rights of this child and no one will be held accountable for the direction his life took......so sad on so many different levels

I understand that they try to keep families together but I thought that he would have at least had to prove that he had a stable home, that he had established a job, something to show that he was going to provide a safe enviroment for this kid who had already been tested for prescription narcotics at age 10.
Instead he was taken out of a foster home where he was doing well and given to this sperm donor, I refuse to call him a father and two months later he has done drugs with him, watched porn with him(that the older Josh was part of), watched and took video of Big Josh torturing a cat, not sure if he saw him kill the family dog and finally either witness to or part of the murder of his step-brother.

I do not know if he actually took part but how would he have stood up to this man? It sounds as though everyone was afraid of him. Big Josh told the police no one will tell you anything unless I tell them it is ok and that seems to have been true. When they questioned one girl she looked at him to see if she was giving the answer he wanted her to and he kept telling her over and over, it is ok to tell them.
Trey's mother and Big Josh seems to have had a sick relationship and much in the same way he says, "tell her we are even", I wonder if she is not trying to now get revenge on him through his son.

Personally I am reserving all.of my sorrow for the innocent boy bludgeoned to death.

I get weary of any excuses (if he is in fact guilty) made for the alleged
    offender.

Agreed Bellaboo. However, apart of me does feel for that boy. I cant imagine the life he has had, and then to end up with a dad like that...breaks my heart.

Just based on the recent articles that have been posted here, it seems like the courts have been making horrible decisions giving kids back to people who should not have been granted custody. its a shame.

This case is so sad. Thus far there is no solid evidence that little Josh participated in the crime, even though each of us know in our heart that his sociopathic father involved him somehow. No matter what the verdict is, this kid has a tainted future. If found guilty, he will go to adult prison. If found innocent, he is aging out of the foster care system and will be on his own at 18. Pitiful

sorry to laugh..but his remark "...that guy couldn't find tits at a strip club" was priceless......
can you see how manipulative he is though...like I don't think that he is lying (at this point)...but seems like he initially fooled alot of people about his involvement in the murder

I could see a bit of what they mean when they said when people meet him they like him. He said a few things similar in the interviews that were funny, I bet that he could be super nice if he met you and want/needed something from you but would not ever want to piss him off. He said his father was a Pentecostal preacher, I wonder why they did not take in Josh Young when his mother died.

Are you talking about the cousin? I don't think she is credible at all. Isn't she the one that the father was saying "it's ok to tell them" to?
