Finally went grocery shopping. Stocked up on veggies, some fruit, and chicken to last me until my next day off. I'm marinating two kinds of chicken right now. Spicy pepper and then the other one is rosemary lemon sage. I have no idea if rosemary, lemon juice and sage taste good together, I just threw it on there

i think it will taste well. i am having trouble with the sugar cravings (never had them before), and seraphim suggested cinnamon supplements. i haven't tried it out yet, but will buy some here either today or tomorrow.

on the spicy chicken, what did you use?

Crushed red pepper, cayenne powder, and cumin. I think. I don't remember now.

Oh, and I put a light coating of sunflower seed oil on all the chicken

First paleo meal. Shrimp sauteed in coconut oil, stuffed into avocado, topped with spices and lime juice, and baby spinach and grape tomatoes dressed with lime juice.

    that looks really good, ang.

my bf has a book on the paleo diet i've been meaning to read, but its difficult to read for pleasure when i read so much for school. all i know is he quit eating bread for awhile and lost a bunch of weight he didn't need to lose.

i am curious how different this is from the atkins diet, is the difference that you can eat as much fruit/natural sugar you want on the paleo 'diet'?

i've pinned some stuff on pinterest and noticed that they highlight nightshades, but i'm not sure why exactly.

I wrote out a meal plan for this coming week. Honestly? I'm not eating nearly as much meat as they seem to recommend. I've mentioned before that I have pretty stringent standards for where I get the meat we eat, and buying a ton of it is not financially feasible. A lot of the meals I'm coming up with are meatless, which is fine.

I fucking love my carbs, but I have to let them go. If I'm eating carbs, I'm eating a mountain of mashed potatoes or an entire loaf of italian bread, not quinoa or couscous or whatever. I'm hoping to excise them completely, then maybeeee reincorporate healthier choices in the future.

Also, coconut oil, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!

Sabotaged again. This stress is killing me. Plus I started my period today. BUT, other than the waffle with chocolate sauce I just ate (with a banana tyvm), I ate well today. I did pretty well all week actually, minus the snickers and waffle. But now I know why I was ready and willing to massacre an entire village of Betty Whites for some chocolate all week. After this lady business is done I should be fine. Now I need to come up with a plan for next month so I don't fall into this again.

    Any advice?

Make shit in advance. A few Sundays ago I spent 8 hours straight cooking everything for the day. Plus, if you make it in advance, you HAVE to eat it, right? Cuz it's there already.

Yeah I made my food in advance for the week my last day off. It's gone, and I have no one to take me shopping (we HAVE to have a liberty buddy, and everyone on my day off hates me). So yeah. I dunno what I'm gonna do for tomorrow. I guess order a salad from somewhere?

My friends and I get together almost every Friday. A good portion of them either eat gluten free or paleo.

ANYWAY - They made crepes last friday... how?

    1 Banana
    2 Eggs

(make banana all mushy then blend in the 2 eggs - looks just like batter)

BAM, thats all! then they filled it with stuffs.

I guess my friend eats the banana pancakes for breakfast almost every morning.

I didnt like them but I'm weird about pancake things.
    I don't sell crack, I'm a prostitute.

    hard boiled eggs.

That's my advice. The hardest part in eating like this is actually snacking. When out, or just something quick you can't really just grub on snacks. Even fruit really. Fruit is ok in moderation but basically just berries.

Experimenting with different deviled egg combos is good. Crush up some bacon in them, olives, different spices etc etc. Filling and an easy snack.
And affirmative action is a very nice term for racial discrimination against better-qualified white people in jobs, employment, promotions and scholarships, and college admittance.

I bought two dozen eggs and hard boiled one dozen. Today is the first full paleo day I've had. I'm doing pretty well (I'm also home sick so eating outside isn't a huge issue right now). I made this:
    http://paleotable.com/2011/02/pulled-pork-tostadas/
with some unseasoned pulled pork I had in the freezer. Instead of the salsa and guac listed there, I mashed an avocado with s&p, minced garlic and lime juice, then stirred in chopped grape tomatoes and divided it between me and Don. Super good. I really liked the almond flour tostadas (I was skeptical as fuck hahaha)
