But...most mentally ill people do not act violently against other people. So what is the advantage of Minority Reporting people? Forcing people to medicate? treating people who suffer from mental illness, regardless of how highly they function around it, simply because they have a diagnosis, like pariahs? That's what will happen. People keep saying 'fix mental health care' but that is not an answer to gun violence, sadly. it needs to be harder for people to get guns, period.
Well, the gun topic aside mental health is not handled properly in this country. I work in the mental health field and it's so fucked up how things are handled as a whole. Shoving pills down people's throats is absolutely not the answer. While the majority of mentally ill people may not be violent there are enough that are for us to be concerned about their access to weapons. There are so many guns in the US now wtf do we even do at this point?

CPL holder opens fire on shoplifter at Home Depot
A concealed-carry license holder is now cooperating with police after she opened fire on a shoplifter who was fleeing a Home Depot on Tuesday afternoon, Auburn Hills Police said.
The shooting happened in the store’s parking lot at around 2 p.m., when Home Depot security was chasing a shoplifter in his 40s who jumped into a waiting dark SUV, said Lt. Jill McDonnell, an Auburn Hills police spokeswoman.
But when the SUV began to pull away, a 48-year-old woman suddenly began firing shots at the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle escaped – but possibly has a flat tire, McDonnell said.
The woman who fired the shots has a license to carry a firearm and is cooperating with police.
It’s not clear whether the woman would face charges in the incident.
The Home Depot, located on Joslyn, is part of a retail district with hundreds of stores in the area.
The shooting comes just weeks after a bank customer in Warren opened fire on an armed robber, causing him to collapse from injuries. It’s not yet clear whether that man will face charges, either.

Give them time. :( It's all just a matter of timing and luck. There was a shooting last May at the WalMart in Grand Forks where two people were killed and certainly there are cases in the oil fields that didn't quite make the cut.
